There has been a lot of talk in the Muslim countries, including Jordan about corruption and corrupt people and their prosecution. To look at the truth of corruption and the position of Islam regarding it, the following must be recalled:

– The origin, essence and basis of corruption lies in the capitalist system applied to us, because it is the corrupt intellectual base from which all corruption has emanated, and Allah has shown that the corruption of the intellectual base ruins the heavens and the earth,

(لَوْ كَانَ فِيهِمَا آلِهَةٌ إِلَّا اللَّهُ لَفَسَدَتَا فَسُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَرْشِ عَمَّا يَصِفُونَ)

“Had there been within the heavens and earth gods besides Allah, they both would have been ruined. So exalted is Allah, Lord of the Throne, above what they describe.”
[Al-Anbiya: 22].

And the branch will not be upright if the origin is corrupt.

– After the ideological corruption (the intellectual system) comes the corruption of the legislative system that legislates to the people other than Allah. Allah (swt) says:

(وَلَوِ اتَّبَعَ الْحَقُّ أَهْوَاءهُمْ لَفَسَدَتِ السَّمَاوَاتُ وَالْأَرْضُ)

“But if the Truth had followed their inclinations, the heavens and the earth and whoever is in them would have been ruined.”
[Al-Mu’minun: 71].

Thus, any rule other than Allah’s rule is the rule of disbelief, falsehood and corruption and will not bring out for humanity except a depressed life. The Almighty says:

(وَمَنْ أَعْرَضَ عَنْ ذِكْرِي فَإِنَّ لَهُ مَعِيشَةً ضَنْكًا)

“And whoever turns away from My remembrance – indeed, he will have a depressed life.’”
[Ta-Ha: 124]

– Corruption of people and tools is the least and the weakest cases of corruption, because if it is the result of the corruption of the origin then it is the effect, and it is the most corrupt and cannot be reformed.

However, if the origin is righteous and correct it could be treated. Thus, a Muslim in the Islamic state may steal, and he may bribe but Islam addressed the matter through the legal provisions. In the capitalist system however, the corruption of the people and tools is inevitable and cannot be mended and its reform will not be through the corrupt legislative system that legislated corruption and its protection and enacted laws to protect the origin of corruption, its legislative system and its people and tools, and even consider every call of truth is a call of corruption as was the case with Pharaoh and his people who accused Prophet Moses (as) of calling for corruption.

(وَقَالَ فِرْعَوْنُ ذَرُونِي أَقْتُلْ مُوسَى وَلْيَدْعُ رَبَّهُ إِنِّي أَخَافُ أَن يُبَدِّلَ دِينَكُمْ أَوْ أَن يُظْهِرَ فِي الْأَرْضِ الْفَسَادَ)

“And Pharaoh said, “Let me kill Moses and let him call upon his Lord. Indeed, I fear that he will change your religion or that he will cause corruption in the land.”
[Ghafir: 26]

And He (swt) says:

(وَقَالَ الْمَلأُ مِن قَوْمِ فِرْعَونَ أَتَذَرُ مُوسَى وَقَوْمَهُ لِيُفْسِدُواْ فِي الأَرْضِ وَيَذَرَكَ وَآلِهَتَكَ)

“And the eminent among the people of Pharaoh said,” Will you leave Moses and his people to cause corruption in the land and abandon you and your gods?’”
[Al-A’raf: 127]

One of the greatest types of corruption is the political corruption, that is the corruption in ruling and the corruption in the responsible care of the ruler, because it is the root and the basis of the corruption, which is the source of all kinds of corruption in the society and under whose umbrella all forms of corruption grow ou; immorality, sinful acts and violation of the sanctities of Allah. Thus, courtship and closeness to the Jews instead of fighting and eliminating them from the Blessed Land of Palestine, is corruption. Seeking the help of America, the head of Kufr, and allowing it to violate the country and the people and enabling it to control Muslims is grave corruption, and taking the International Monetary Fund (IMF) as an influential ruler of the country’s economy is also corruption, bankruptcy and destruction…

The fight against corruption in Jordan will not be through this corrupt system, in which the origin of corruption by its ideology and its legislative system has joined with the people supporting the corrupt system. The demand to prosecute the corrupt people while maintaining the origin of the corrupt regime, which is protected by the corrupt legislative system and the pillars of the regime of the head and the entourage, is contrary to the Holy Quran and to the way of change and is a waste of time and effort. And a realistic look confirms to us that corruption is entrenched despite all the calls to fight it.

The radical treatment of corruption in Jordan and the Muslim countries can only be achieved by adopting the Islamic Aqeedah as the political basis of the state, from which emanates all the legal provisions that address the problems of man, society and the state on the basis of Islam, whether they are economic, social, political, or ruling and foreign policy problems; because these provisions are from the Subtle, the Acquainted, and He knows better than human beings of what achieves justice and mercy for them. The Almighty says:

(أَلَا يَعْلَمُ مَنْ خَلَقَ وَهُوَ اللَّطِيفُ الْخَبِيرُ)

“Does He who created not know, while He is the Subtle, the Acquainted?”
[Al-Mulk: 14].

And this cannot be done in practice except by making the ruling system the one that was revealed by the Lord of the Worlds, applied by the Messenger of Allah (saw) and followed on its methodology by the righteous Caliphs after him. Namely, it is the system of the Khilafah Rashidah (righteous Caliphate) on the method of the Prophethood. So, to this we invite you O Muslims and call those who have been earnest and sincere in eliminating corruption at its roots.
