Have you heard of them? Have you discussed them with anyone? Probably yes, I think that at least with the edge of an ear, but you heard about this news, about these events.
All these topics are the “political agenda” – what is the most relevant, interesting and discussed in society (not only in our region, but throughout the city, in the whole country, and even in such a huge region as the “post-Soviet” space).
Now I would like to remind you dear brothers and sisters of our agenda (you can call it political, but it truly covers all aspects of our life). By “our” agenda, I mean what concerns us, Muslims directly, that is, what is interesting, discussed and relevant today.
The month of Rajab has come and this date has come … 100 years have passed since the day when the Ottoman State ceased to exist, which was the last stronghold of Islam, which was the last state in which the Quran and Sunnah were the basis for all laws in society and the state.
Oh, dear brothers and sisters! Truly, this is the most topical agenda for us, for Muslims!
Since our native Ummah was fragmented and scattered along fictitious borders, and our peoples began to be ruled by laws that contradict the Quran and Sunnah, since then the Ummah has met with injustice and poverty… Would you like the Quran and Sunnah to be the basis for laws? Would you like the judges to make decisions based on the Quran and Sunnah? … I think each of us, Muslims, wants and wishes the justice of Islam.
O Muslims! Oh, dear brothers and sisters! In this month of Rajab, I want to remind you that truly, our agenda is to bring Islam to life in all spheres, without exception, in order to bring Islam to all humankind! Then and only then will all the issues of poverty, occupation and backwardness be resolved!
[وَلَا تَكُونُوا كَالَّذِينَ نَسُوا اللَّهَ فَأَنسَاهُمْ أَنفُسَهُمْ أُوْلَئِكَ هُمُ الْفَاسِقُونَ]
“Do not be like those who have forgotten Allah, and He made them forget themselves. They are wicked.” [Quran, “Al’-Hashr” (Collection), 59:19].
Oh, dear brothers and sisters! Indeed, Allah (swt) sent down Islam for all humankind, Islam is the last religion before the Day of Judgment – is there anything better than Islam? Are there laws better and fairer than the laws of Islam? Is there anything better than the Quran and Sunnah?
Oh my brothers and sisters! It takes the diligence of each of us for Islam to be restored. I urge each of us to remember the life of our beloved Messenger, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, to remember how his life went, what hardships he experienced and what actions he took to bring the light of Islam to people, to implement the Quran and Sunnah in society (Medina).
I also call on each of us to think about how we, today, can restore Islam to such a state that the Quran and Sunnah are implemented in society, in relations between people, in the spheres of economy, education – in all areas of our life.
[لَقَدْ كَانَ لَكُمْ فِي رَسُولِ اللَّهِ أُسْوَةٌ حَسَنَةٌ لِّمَن كَانَ يَرْجُو اللَّهَ وَالْيَوْمَ الْآخِرَ وَذَكَرَ اللَّهَ كَثِيرًا]
“The Messenger of Allah was the best example for you, for those who hope in Allah and the Last Day and remember Allah very much.” [Quran, Al-Azhab (Allies), 21: 33].
