The lawyer and a relative of Engineer Owais Raheel have held a press conference at Karachi Press Club. They informed media about matters related to the abduction of Engineer Owais Raheel, his arrest being made public after almost a month of his abduction as well as shedding light on the false accusations leveled against him. The lawyer of Engineer Owais Raheel said that on 18th September 2015 the people of Pakistan were informed through a press conference as to how our law enforcement agencies are employing cheap tactics, harassing and torturing respected and educated citizens, particularly those who call for Islam. Regrettably, Engineer Owais Rahell is now also one of them. He was abducted by law enforcement agencies on 11 September 2015, a Friday. The concerned police station was informed of his abduction and all higher authorities were informed by courier through the “TCS” company and requested to ensure his release. Also a petition (No. 5807/2015) was filed in the Sindh High Court which issued notices to all concerned authorities and set the date of a hearing for 8th October 2015.
The lawyer added that on 7th October 2015, Engineer Owais Rageel was presented in the Anti-Terrorism Court Number 3 and a false, fabricated incident was created, upon whose flawed basis the Superintendent of Police (SSP) of the CTD (Counter-Terrorism Department) issued a detention order under 11-EEEE of Anti Terrorist Act, granting a full 90 days detention. The SSP had no such power and nor does the constitution allow the issuing of such an order. The lawyer further said that this shows clearly that in Pakistan, which was created in the name of Islam, peaceful and Islam loving people are harassed and put behind bars, under the banner of National Action Plan, which is indeed an American Action plan. Addressing higher authorities through the media, he demanded that they must desist from employing such cheap tactics and release Engineer Owais Raheel and all other innocents like him, otherwise they are inviting Allah’s سبحانه وتعالى wrath upon themselves.
Hizb ut-Tahrir Wilayah Pakistan makes clear to the people of Pakistan, its media, politicians, Ullema, lawyers, intellectuals and officers of the armed forces that the National Action Plan is an American Action Plan, which is being used to silence the voices calling for the implementation of Islam and the re-establishment of Khilafah. Therefore Muslims of Pakistan, no matter from which segment of society they belong, are obliged to raise the word of truth, enjoining the Maruf (Good) and forbidding the Munkar (Evil), as per the command of Allah سبحانه وتعالى and His Messenger ﷺ lest our Dua’s are not answered.
