Muslims are Brothers who Don’t Hand over other Muslims to the Enemies of Islam

“We, as the Uyghurs living abroad are pleading to you with the following, if you have decided to hand back the 11 Uyghurs in your custody, instead of handing them back to the Chinese government, it would be better, for the following reasons, if you just killed them yourselves.

The inhumane torture that they would go through, their organs would be stolen, then they would be killed and burnt. At the least in your hands you would execute them in a humane fashion and they could be given an Islamic burial and be buried with the other Muslims in a Muslim cemetery in Malaysia. We are willing and ready to pay for any costs that the process takes for the martyrdom of our 11 Uyghur Brothers. This is a request made by the Uyghurs living around the world so that on the Day of Judgment when we stand in front of our Lord we would be free from anything that Allah had already decreed”. This is an excerpt taken from an open letter to the Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia, Zahid Hamidi by Uyghur Muslims from all over the world. The letter is a plea from our Uyghur Muslim brothers and sisters to Zahid to not hand over 11 Uyghur Muslims who are in the custody of the Malaysian Government to the Chinese government.

Comment:
In the open letter the Uyghur Muslims appealed for the Malaysian government to shelter them and not to deport the 11 detainees back to China. The letter clearly explained the atrocities, tortures or even murder that they will face from the Chinese regime for no other reason than that their religion is Islam. Until today, the government of Malaysia has not responded to the open letter officially.

The reality is that the Uyghur Muslims are part of the Ummah that are forced to flee for their lives from the cruelty of the Chinese regime. Their only “crime” is that they are Muslims, who have been deprived of their rights for decades, and restrained from practicing their Deen, apart from being oppressed socio-economically in their very own land. Only those who are politically blind and selfish, will fail to see the oppression by the Chinese regime against our Uyghur Muslim brothers and sisters.

The Chinese regime justified their atrocities by associating any form of resistance against their authority with the allegation of terrorism. Even if some of the Uyghur Muslims did took arms, they certainly did not do this except as a response to the oppression and murders committed by the Chinese regime themselves. The Uyghur Muslims have been oppressed and deprived of their rights for decades, and their cry has never been heard by the Muslim rulers. The Prime Minister of Malaysia himself not only failed to aid them, but instead established a close relationship with the anti-Islam communist regime.

The Malaysian government has to be reminded that these Uyghur Muslims are our brothers and it is an outright obligation for the government to protect them from the atrocities of the Chinese regime. As Muslims, it is the obligation of the Malaysian government to provide shelter and fulfill all the needs of these Muslims, including granting citizenship to them along with all the rights that come with it. It is forbidden (haram) for the government to deport them or to allow the Chinese regime to take them away from here, which will endanger their lives. Rasulullah (saw) said, «المسلم أخو المسلم لا يظلمه ولا يسلمه» “A Muslim is a brother to another Muslim. He does not wrong him, and does not desert him.” [Bukhari].

Moreover, the Malaysian government should urge the Communist Chinese regime to end all forms of atrocities on the Muslims in their country, regardless of their location or ethnicity. All diplomatic and trade relations with the Chinese regime must be cut off as long as their hostility towards Islam remain.

Nevertheless, it is highly unlikely that the Malaysian government will carry out the demands mentioned, however, it is the responsibility of the each and every Muslim to continuously remind the government of those very important obligations. With the current geo-political nuance, it is not expected that any of the Muslim leaders are going to even move a finger to act to rescue oppressed Muslims all over the world. In order to rescue our oppressed Muslim brothers and sisters, we must unite under a strong Islamic political entity to create the balance of power direly needed by the Islamic Ummah. And it is only through the re-establishment of the Khilafah Rashidah (Righteous Caliphate) upon the method of Prophethood that our Muslim Uyghur brothers and all the oppressed Muslims shall be saved Insha Allah.
