After midday on Saturday 22/08/2015 the Palestinian Authority’s (PA) security apparatus assaulted a peaceful demonstration in the town of Bethlehem. Hizb ut Tahrir in the Blessed Land of Palestine had organised it in protest to the arbitrary practises undertaken by the security apparatus against the carriers of the Da’wah and others from the people of Palestine. There were a number of injuries caused amongst those participating in the protest whilst dozens were arrested.
We affirm in this statement of ours our strongest denunciation of the arbitrary and thuggish practises that the security apparatus of the PA practised. As such we reiterate and affirm the following:
- The protest that Hizb ut Tahrir organised was legal as the Hizb presented notice to the governor of Bethlehem in accordance to the law (Number 12) of 1998 in relation to public gatherings. That was undertaken on 19/08/2015 and as such what the security apparatus undertook was a crime and represents a trouncing upon the law with shoes and boots.
- What happened today in Bethlehem represents a confirmation from the PA in respect to the current situation which was the reason behind the Hizb organising the protest. It is a situation of security breach and arbitrary and thuggish practises that the security apparatus practises against the people of Palestine including the carriers of the Da’wah to the great Islam and those working for the establishment of the rightly guided Khilafah upon the path of the Prophethood.
- The Hizb holds the leadership of the PA responsible for the well-being of those detained and particularly with its continual silence in respect to the thuggery of the security apparatus practised against the people of Palestine at a time when it is servile and submissive before the Jewish aggressing occupation whilst failing to protect them and even from the burning alive of children whilst in the safety of their homes.
- The exploding barrels were not able to silence the people when they revolted against the crimes of the regimes and their oppression. The crimes of the PA and the aggression of their security apparatus against the people represent the fuel which will set alight within it the fuse of revenge and at that time it will never be able to find a refuge to seek shelter in. If there was somebody within the PA who has reason or see then he would have held his hand back from fighting Islam and the carriers of its Da’wah and he would have brought the governor of Bethlehem and the heads of the security apparatus before the military courts for the crimes that they had committed against the people.
Verily Hizb ut Tahrir and alongside it the people of Palestine will continue to raise their voices high protesting this security breach and the arbitrary practises of the security apparatus. The Palestinian Authority should pay attention to what has been happening to the biggest criminals of the Arab world and that the Islamic Ummah with Hizb ut Tahrir at its front is moving with pace towards taking back its authority and establishing the rightly guided Khilafah upon the path of the Prophethood which will liberate Palestine and all of the occupied lands and it will punish the oppressors. At that time those who have oppressed will know which place they are heading to. izb
