Conflict at Durand Line Serves Crusaders’ Divide and Rule policy.

Pakistan and Afghanistan on 8 May started a joint survey of the Killi Luqman and Killi Jahangir villages along their border near Chaman following deadly clashes across the border between the two Muslim states. Kabul claims the villages are part of the war-torn country’s Spin Boldak district, an assertion Pakistan flatly denies. The two sides had on 7 May agreed to conduct a geographical survey of the villages to “remove discrepancies”.

The line dividing Pakistan-Afghanistan border, known as the Durand Line, was imposed in 1893 by the British Raj, slicing through the defiant Pashtun communities on either side, as part of its divide and rule policy. On a daily basis for trade, close family relations and other purposes, thousands of Pashtun Muslims have been freely crossing either side of the border for centuries. The Pashtun tribesmen of the area hold Islam dearly and so have always played a significant role in supporting the resistance movement against the foreign crusaders. Whether it be the expulsion and defeat of British Empire or the Soviet Union, the Muslims of this area have been the backbone of the resistance movement.  However, since the invasion US invasion of 2001, Americans along with their allies had been facing humiliating defeats in the Afghanistan conflict and their fate would have been no different to the earlier crusaders. However, the US realizes the significance of the tribal belt that straddles the Durand Line and has devised different ploy in crushing the backbone of the resistance movement in Afghanistan. On US dictates, Pakistan’s rulers unleashed one operation after another to suppress the tribal resistance against American occupation, set up check-posts, fenced borders and collectively punished, harassed and arrested Muslims for supporting the resistance.

Not only this but in compliance with American plan of divide and rule, the US agents in Islamabad and Kabul have been escalating the tensions on the borders in a bid to create hatred amongst both sides of the Muslims. In recent years, check-posts along the Durand Line, including the Friendship Gate at Pakistan-Afghanistan border in the Chaman area, have witnessed exchange of shelling and firing at regular intervals from forces guarding the borders, igniting tensions between both sides. Prior to the US invasion and ensuing tensions, the Muslims of Afghanistan and Pakistan had been close to each other, such that Afghanistan was regarded as a province of Pakistan. However, since US invasion the puppet regimes of both countries have been attempting to create an environment of hatred amongst Muslims. Shamelessly both regimes have been exchanging fiery statements with each other, diverting attention from the actual issue which is the US presence, the cause of instability in the region. Yet, both agent regimes not only support the US occupation of Afghanistan, but faithfully create justifications for its longer stay in the region.

The US puppet regimes on both sides of the border will continue to divide the Muslims to secure the US objectives in this region. The Muslims must reject these regimes attempts to divide them on nationalistic grounds and instead embrace Islam tightly, which will bring about their rise as a single powerful Ummah. Muslims will always suffer by dividing themselves, abandoning the command of Islam to unify as one Ummah and one state under a Khaleefah Raashid, standing as one brotherhood. Allah (swt) said,

إِنَّمَا الْمُؤْمِنُونَ إِخْوَة

Indeed, the Believers are but one brotherhood.”

(Surah al-Hujarat 49:10)

It is only through the Khilafah (Caliphate) on the Method of the Prophethood that Muslims on both sides of the Durand Line will be unified again, whilst demolishing the US hegemony in this region and elsewhere.t regimes on both sides of the border will continue to divide the Muslims to secure the US objectives in this region.

Civilian and Military Leadership Compete to Serve the Colonialist

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on 9 May 2017 held another consultative meeting with his close aides, including federal ministers, to discuss the issues of national importance, with particular reference to the controversy surrounding government actions over recommendations of the special inquiry committee set up to probe the publication of a report in Dawn on a national security meeting last October. The entire episode is being presented as a conflict between the civilian and military leadership.

Such civilian-military conflicts do not arise solely because of the civilian leadership’s desire for maintaining democratic powers without military intervention and the military leadership’s desire to ensure national security in the face of corrupt politicians. Yes, such desires are within the respective institutions, the politicians of the legislative assemblies on the one hand and the officers of the armed forces’ on the others. However, whilst the leadership of the civilian and military factions must account for these institutional desires, conflicts arise when the leaderships compete for the favor of the colonialists over pursuing the US agenda.

In the case of Dawn Leaks, the leaks were the civilian leadership’s attempt to expose that the military leadership is not faithfully adhering to the US agenda to forcefully suppress the Afghan resistance and the Islam loving people. And the military leadership’s anger is not because of its rejection of the US agenda, but embarrassment at being exposed as being less than loyal to the US. Indeed, when it comes to the US agenda, the civilian and military leaderships are exactly on the same page. They both faithfully follow the US agenda to suppress Islam. They both follow the US plan of exercising “restraint” before India, allowing it to rise as the dominant regional power through normalization. They both adhere to the plan to impose liberal and secular values on a conservative Muslim society. They both implement the US plan to ensnare China within the CPEC economic corridor to reduce its capability to challenge the US.

Civilian-military conflicts arise when the respective leaderships seek to show their loyalty to their master is greater. And it can be seen throughout Pakistan’s history. When the civilian leadership of Nawaz Sharif became ineffective in pursuing the normalization agenda with India, the US gave the green light for the military leadership of Musharraf and take over, so as to pursue the normalization agenda with vigor. In turn, when Musharraf’s military leadership became ineffective through widespread rejection, the US paved the way for civilian leaderships to take up the mantle of pursuing the colonialist agendas more prominently, alongside the military leaderships.

It is this slave, colonialist serving mentality of both the civilian and military leaderships that has been a burden on Pakistan for too long. Pakistan is in need of liberation through the Khilafah on the Method of the Prophethood, where the leadership’s sole focus is the implementation of Islam and looking after the affairs of Muslims. Only then will the Muslims finally be liberated from the dominance of the Kuffar. Allah (ta’ala) revealed,

وَلَنْ يَجْعَلَ اللَّهُ لِلْكَافِرِينَ عَلَى الْمُؤْمِنِينَ سَبِيلاً

And Allah does not allow the Believers to place the Kafireen in authority over them.”

(Surah an-Nisa’ 4:141)

End the Puppet Show- End Foreign Contact with Political and Military Leadership, not Just Funding

The Supreme Court on 10 May warned the opposition Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) it could appoint the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to act as a commission to thoroughly investigate the party’s claim that it has not received foreign funding. “What will be your response if today, for the purpose of determining whether PTI is a foreign-funded party or not, we direct the ECP to act as a commission on our behalf and report back after a detailed inquiry, similar to the joint investigation team (JIT) constituted in the Panama Papers case?” Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar asked PTI counsel Anwar Mansoor.

The Supreme Court’s concern about foreign influence is valid but woefully, inadequately directed. Indeed, US agents and puppets like Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and General Qamar Javed Bajwa do not arise out of a vacuum. America is an open enemy, whose occupation of the region has been crippled by its own cowardly troops, collapsing economy and separation from its victims by vast oceans. America could not have any way over the believers, were it not for such contact with its puppets. It is through such contact it is able to launch invasions, secure its occupation and then seeks legitimacy for its permanent stay within the region, through negotiations. It is through such contact that the Muslims have suffered with the loss of tens of thousands of their civilians, armed forces as well as billions of dollars of losses to their economy. This is on top of what American Raymond Davis mercenaries perpetrate of target killings and bombings, as well as what the American tool, the IMF, has done to destroy our economy.

To end this puppet show, the sincere officers must Pakistan’s armed forces must uproot the puppets by granting the Nussrah for the Khilafah. Protesting to these shameless puppets about meeting their puppet masters is like shouting at the wooden puppet that neither hears nor feels. Rather than protesting, each and every one of us must demand from our relatives and friends in our armed forces that they work with Hizb ut Tahrir for the return of the Khilafah to this region. It is only the Khilafah on the Method of the Prophethood that will close the embassies, consulates and bases of the Americans and colonialists. It will expel all the crusader officials and bring to trial any ruler who maintains contact with the enemy. So it is upon all Muslims to gain reward by spreading this flyer and its message, far and wide.

“O you who believe! Choose not My enemies who are your enemies as friends showing them affection even when they disbelieve in that truth that has come to you”

(Surah Mumtahina 60:1)
