HT Bangladesh strongly condemns the detention and torture of its deputy spokesman

Hizb ut-Tahrir Bangladesh strongly condemns the detention and torture of its deputy spokesman Kazi Murshedul Haque

Chief Coordinator and Spokesman of Hizb ut-Tahrir Bangladesh, Mohiuddin Ahmed issued a statement today strongly condemning the detention and torture of the party’s deputy spokesman Kazi Murshedul Haque and said that no amount of torture will deter Hizb ut-Tahrir
from speaking the word of Truth.

He said that after arresting Murshedul Haque, he was taken to an unknown location and neither his family members nor the party office were informed of his whereabouts. Moreover, he was tortured in an inhuman and barbaric manner. He was blindfolded and severely beaten many times. His head, back, shoulders, arms and legs bear marks of the brutal torture inflicted upon him and he is now receiving treatment in hospital.

Mohiuddin Ahmed said that on the day the US forces set foot in Bangladesh, Murshedul Haque was arrested and tortured in a manner resembling that of Abu Gharib. His only crime was that he spoke against the ‘Evil American Empire’ and her aggression all over the world. It is therefore obvious for anyone to see the motive behind their presence in Bangladesh.

Humanitarianism is only a pretext they are using to further their colonial designs.  Mohiuddin Ahmed added that for the past 50 years Hizb ut-Tahrir has been struggling against imperialists and their servants without fear or compromise. Despite the torture and no matter how much more harm it is exposed to, Hizb ut-Tahrir will continue with its programme of exposing the imperialists and working for establishing the Khilafah state.
