Hizb ut-Tahrir East Africa sends sincere condolences following the capsizing of the ferry ‘Spice Islander’

Hizb ut-Tahrir East Africa received with great grief and pain the news of MV Spice Islander’s capsizing on the eve of 10/09/2011 in the Nungwi area between the islands of Pemba and Zanzibar, and we stand hand in hand together with everyone affected giving them our condolences over this calamity and advising them to be patient in this difficult period.

We are also announcing to the entire Islamic world that it is obliged to intervene quickly to assist in life-saving evacuation and taking care of the bereaved families who lost their beloved brothers who took care of their families financially.

This accident is further painful proof that the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar (SMZ) has completely failed in guaranteeing safe passage between Zanzibar and Pemba, and also a clear failure by all its relevant institutions to protect and evacuate passengers.

At the same time that Hizb ut-Tahrir East Africa condoles the bereaved and sincerely advises them to show patience and forebearing, we are clearly announcing to all that it is only the Islamic State, the Khilafah, that would display the true inner conscience and innate virtue of protecting and saving the lives of all people.
