3rd March – The Tragic Anniversary of the Catastrophic Day that the Muslim Woman Lost Her Shield and Guardian – The Khilafah

The 3rd of March marks 92 years since the colossal tragedy that befell the Ummah of Muhammad ﷺ – the abolishment of the Khilafah, the Ruling System of Islam at the hands of Western colonial governments and their treacherous agent Mustafa Kemal. The heart wrenching consequences of that fateful day upon the Muslims and their Deen evokes pain beyond words. However, it is the daughters of this Ummah who paid the heaviest price for the loss of this glorious system that had always stood as a guardian over their rights, providing them justice, protecting their dignity, and delivering them prosperous lives.

It was the Khilafah that mobilised armies without a moment’s hesitation to defend their blood and honour as commanded by Allah سبحانه وتعالى, and was governed by rulers of taqwa who were servants to their needs, shouldering their economic burdens, and ensuring that they and their family were always provided for. It was an Islamic system under which they could elect their ruler and account him openly without fear of repercussion; a state which generated thousands of female scholars and that led the world in the high status, rights, and good treatment it afforded to its women. However, the abolishment of the Khilafah plunged Muslim women into nine long decades of darkness, indescribable hardships and unbearable suffering. Their lives became marred by death and destruction, poverty and indignity, destitution and desperation under successive Western-installed merciless and incompetent Kufr regimes and systems who cared nothing for their blood, honour or welfare. The daughters of this Ummah came to be governed by brutal dictatorships who stole their wealth, ruled through terror, persecuted them for their Islamic dress and beliefs, and imprisoned, tortured and killed them for standing against their oppression and making the call for Islam. These Kufr regimes deprived Muslim women of the Islamic privilege of financial maintenance, forcing our honourable sisters to beg on the streets, sell their bodies, or leave their children to work in foreign states, in order to feed themselves and their families. And these Kufr leaderships and regimes abandoned the daughters of Islam at their most desperate time of need, leaving them to be slaughtered at the hands of the enemies of Islam, or to drown at sea as refugees trying to escape the hell in their homelands. They denied them sanctuary and basic rights, refused to mobilise their armies to their defence, and even colluded with their killers in their murderous crimes.

O Muslims! O People of military power and influence who have Imaan! Surely nine long decades of darkness, indignity, oppression, and the most unbearable suffering that Muslim women and their children have been subjected to under the rule of Kufr is enough! Do you not wish to see the return of dignity and prosperity to your mothers, daughters, sisters and women that the believing women in generations past enjoyed under the Laws of Allah سبحانه وتعالى? Do you not wish for Islam to resume its position of magnificence and dignity in the world, spreading justice and light to humanity across the globe as Allah سبحانه وتعالى has commanded? Then we call you to uproot the rule of these Kufr regimes that have acted like a cancer in our lands, depriving this Ummah and its daughters of the protection and countless privileges and blessings that come with the implementation of the Ruling System of Islam. And we call you to work with Hizb ut Tahrir to establish with urgency the Khilafah based upon the method of the Prophethood which will re-ignite the light of Islam across the Muslim world, burning away corruption and oppression and bringing a new dawn of justice to the women of this Deen and to this whole Ummah.

«‏إِنَّمَا الْإِمَامُ ‏‏جُنَّةٌ ‏ ‏يُقَاتَلُ مِنْ وَرَائِهِ وَيُتَّقَى بِهِ…»

“Indeed, the Imam (Khaleefah) is a shield, from behind whom you fight and by whom you are protected.”
