Recently, we often see and hear the calls for liberation of the people of Tajikistan. Someone calls for democracy, saying that it is democracy that could bring freedom. Others call for patriotism and nationalism rousing people’s feelings so that they are Tajiks and must show the world what they are. There are those who consider themselves an Islamic party, but their thoughts and feelings are mixed with democracy and patriotism.
So what can really liberate the Muslim people of Tajikistan from the oppression and humiliation? Is it democracy, patriotism, nationalism or Islam mixed with both of them?
To answer this question one needs to understand what democracy and nationalism is from the perspective of the Islamic Aqeedah, because all praise be to Allah we are Muslims and we have our own laws and Aqeedah.
Democracy is a system of disbelief. It is based on the fact that the rule belongs to the people, that legitimize what they wish by the view of the majority. It allows, disallows, approves, condemns and believes that a person is free in his behavior and does what he/she wants. Drinking alcohol, committing adultery, renouncing Islam, insulting the holy things, and all these are done under the name of democracy and for the sake of its freedom. That’s what democracy is, and this is its reality, its true identity and meaning.
Do we, the Muslims of Tajikistan, want such freedom, where society is evil, where the idea of homosexuality and lesbianism will be free distributed!? For some Tajik women living in Russia have become lesbians. No! And once again, no! We, the Muslims of Tajikistan, do not want this corrupt system! Let the west live in its evil system!
Knowing that Tajik Muslims will not accept such a democracy, the west, to our deep regret, is trying to implement this democracy with the hands of some Muslims who do not understand Islam. They call for the people explaining that democracy is from Islam that there is an election of governor and council both in democracy and in Islam. If these Muslims say this, not knowing or not understanding, then we say that in democracy legislation, prohibition and permission belong to a man, not to the Lord of this man. The council you are talking about, is the place where the laws are made by people. In Islam, the decision belongs to Allah and does not to people, and in Islam the council itself does not make laws, does not permit or prohibit something. All these belong to Allah سبحانه وتعالى. The Quran says:
إِنِ الْحُكْمُ إِلاَّ لِلّهِ
“No one has the authority of passing judgement except Allah”
(Al-An’am, 6:57)
And then how do they say that democracy is from Islam!? And if they repeat it consciously, so these words of Allah سبحانه وتعالى are enough for them:
وَاتَّقُواْ يَوْماً لاَّ تَجْزِي نَفْسٌ عَن نَّفْسٍ شَيْئاً وَلاَ يُقْبَلُ مِنْهَا عَدْلٌ وَلاَ تَنفَعُهَا شَفَاعَةٌ وَلاَ هُمْ يُنصَرُونَ
“And fear a Day when no soul will suffice for another soul at all, and no compensation will be accepted from it, nor will any intercession benefit it, nor will they be aided”
(Al-Baqara, 2:123)
And as for those who are calling for patriotism and nationalism, then these ideas are contrary to Islam. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
«مَنْ تَعَزَّى بِعَزَاءِ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ فَأَعْضُوهُ بِهِنَّ أَبِيهِ وَلَا تُكَنُّوا»
“If anyone proudly asserts his descent in the manner of the pre-Islamic people, tell him to bite his father’s penis, and do not use a euphemism.” (Al-Nasa’i 8865)
«وَمَنْ قُتِلَ تَحْتَ رَايَةٍ عِمِّيَّةٍ، يَغْضَبُ لِلْعَصَبِيَّةِ، أَوْ يُقَاتِلُ لِلْعَصَبِيَّةِ، أَوْ يَدْعُو إِلَى الْعَصَبِيَّةِ، فَقِتْلَةٌ جَاهِلِيَّةٌ»
“Anyone who was killed under the banner of nationalism, calling for a generic spirit or helped nationalism, so his death is like in jahiliyyah”.
In addition to this, these ideas may not lead to unification and development of people. How can they unite the Tajik people with these ideas!? There were these ideas that divided the people of Tajikistan to the residents of Dushanbe, Kulyab, Hudzhan and others!?
So what kind of freedom are these people talking about!? It turns out that their efforts, cries for freedom and unity of the people are just the words that are directed against E. Rahmon!? What will change if another succeeds Rahmon!? Just name, last name and appearance??? What’s the difference who governs – Rahmon, Kabiri Atovulloev or any other, when the system that oppresses us is the same? How can we free the people not changing the system from which everything comes!? Especially those who want changes should have political views. Do not they know that Tajikistan subordinates Russia politically, economically and militarily!? The freedom of Muslims in Tajikistan will come when it is completely free from the influence of large countries. And this is possible only with the change of vicious and tyrannical system of Tajikistan on a fair system of Islam.
We, the Islamic political party Hizb ut Tahrir, call for the Tajik people and those who wish to change this country to work for the reestablishment of the second righteous Khilafah state (Caliphate) on the method of our beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. It is the Khilafah (Caliphate) that brought our ancestors out of the fire-worship to the light of faith in Allah سبحانه وتعالى. And then, our ancestors lived united and well-developed in the shade of the Islamic Khilafah (Caliphate). And remember! Allah’s Help is coming! And soon with Allah’s Will Tajikistan will become a part of the worldwide Khilafah (Caliphate)!
