Khilafah, Side Feature, The Khilafah

We remember with mercy Sheikh Said and his brothers who called to the Deen

Ninety years have passed since the martyrdom of Sheikh Said and 47 of his brothers who called to the Deen by way of execution on the 25th of June 1925. Today we are reminding ourselves of Sheikh Said and his martyr brothers with mercy whilst we ask Allah Subhaanahu to grant them the everlasting comfort of the Hereafter.

England, the enemy of the Muslims and the head of the old colonialism that divided the Muslim lands into parts at the end of the Ottoman Khilafah, was successful in attracting a number of the sons of the Muslims towards it, recruiting them and making them her agents. It was then able with the support of the Arab and Turkish traitors to demolish the State of the Muslims, the Khilafah State.

After the destruction of the Khilafah on the 3rd of March 1924 the Secular Republic was declared and the Khilafah system was abolished immediately whilst being replaced by the corrupt system of the west and the disbeliever which was then put in the position of implementation. As a consequence of the fragmentation and division of the Muslim lands which had been under the shelter of the Islamic rule for thirteen centuries and as a result of the abolition of the Khilafah, some of the sincere and aware ‘Ulamaa met to discuss the solution for this situation. This is what Sheikh Said Afandiy who was from amongst the prominent ‘Ulemah rushed to do and so he gathered the ‘Ulemah of the region together directly after the abolition of the Khilafah and the declaration of the republic. He announced his rebellion and his readiness to fight in accordance to the dictates of the Hukm Ash-Shar’i based upon the Hadeeth of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ:

«إِنَّمَا الْإِمَامُ جُنَّةٌ يُقَاتَلُ مِنْ وَرَائِهِ وَيُتَّقَى بِهِ»

“Verily the Imaam is a Shield. Fighting is from behind him and protection is by him.”

This was in addition to relying upon the texts which order fighting the rulers when Al-Kufr Al-Bawaah (Blatant explicit disbelief) manifests from them. The rulers of that time from the enemies of Islam attempted to delude the Turkish public opinion into believing that the rebellion of Sheikh Said was in fact a Kurdish rebellion and this is because they feared that Da’wah of Sheikh Said would find acceptance amongst the Muslims and provide it with greater support. This was whilst they spread in other Islamic lands that his rebellion the lie that his rebellion was for the sake of an Armenian state.

The rebellion was crushed by the state before being able to achieve its objectives and Sheikh Said and his brothers were executed on the 25th of June 1925. Then after quashing this rebellion the Turkish Republic launched a very wide unmerciful repressive campaign against the sincere ‘Ulemah and Muslims and particularly against the Kurdish Muslim people. The ‘Ulemah were hung by ropes upon their necks in the public places and squares, mass collective massacres happened in the villages, Muslims perished in the oppressive prisons, families were forced to move away from their lands and were subject to dissolution and being fragmented. Then when the Turkish Republic failed to distance the Kurdish Muslims from Islam and its Ahkaam (rulings) in spite of all of the kinds of repression and punishment they subjected them to, they began to work to make non-Muslims the representatives of the Kurdish people and the Kurdish issue. So they tried to spread Fitnah and division within the brotherhood and as a result rivers of blood flowed amongst them for many years. When this also failed to accomplish its desired result, they then worked to deceive the Kurdish Muslim people attempting to take them away from Islam by way of the rotten, corrupt and immoral democratic system. So the oppressive murderous state of yesterday is attempting today to hide its (true) ugly dark face and to beautify it in the eyes of the Muslim Kurdish people through utilising democracy. It is attempting with its masked democratic face to distance the Muslims from the values of Islam and its culture towards westernization and liberation as they claim. The state undertakes that by utilising the political parties and personalities who do not represent the Kurdish Muslim people whether in the past or in the present. This is because those who represent the Muslim Kurdish people are Sheikh Said and his brothers who sacrificed and gave their lives for Islam and the Khilafah in addition to those who took up and carried this Amaanah (trust) that these left them. Sheikh Said was not an agent to a foreigner and he was not attached to a nationalistic association. Rather he was someone who held an issue and his issue was Islam and the Khilafah. Sheikh Said said on his way to his hanging: “If I have gone out in the way of Allah and for the sake of His Deen then I will not fear hanging upon such simple branches” and he went out and rebelled for the sake of the Khilafah by which the application of the Shariah of Islam is accomplished. He called out within the Muslims to undertake and provide sacrifices for the sake of the Khilafah: “The Khilafah awaits you, there is no Islam without a Khilafah, your slogan and call is the Deen so demand the Shariah”.

And today the grandsons of Sheikh Said are working upon this slogan and call and are challenging the Nationalistic thought which the disbelieving West used as a tool to fragment the Muslim lands. And indeed it is obligatory to today to work with maximum effort and capability and tirelessly for the sake of building the rightly guided Khilafah upon the methodology of the Prophethood. This is regardless of all the filthy plans that the West working to distance the Muslim Kurdish people from Islam and its values is striving to implement through democratic freedoms, its institutions, models and coordination with the State. So it is the Khilafah which is the state that will bring together all of the Muslims whether they are Kurds, Turks, Arabs or others under the Rayah (banner) of Islam. It is the state that Sheikh Said and his brothers made sacrifices and gave their lives for. It is the State that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ has entrusted as an Amaanah (trust) upon our necks in our description as Muslims, just as it was upon Sheikh Said and his brothers, may Allah have mercy upon them.
