The people of Tunisia, including the security forces, succeeded in marking an important position through their great lack of participation in the municipal elections, which was confirmed by a low turnout rate of 15% (if we counted the number of eligible voters). This sends a clear message to the rulers, parties, and the world’s public opinion that the masses of the Ummah, especially the youth, have become impatient and hate the opportunists, the corrupt and the agents who crowd the corridors of the government and the parliament. And that they look forward to real politics that cares for their affairs and makes the authority in their hands and not in the hands of their enemies. This highlights major issues, the main ones are:

• To liberate the country from all political, economic, legislative, cultural and intellectual links.
• To free the country’s wealth from the domination of colonial companies and make it public property until the state is the representative of the people in its extraction, guarantees the best way to spend it and finances of public services in accordance with the rules of Islam.
• Make the interest of the Ummah, as determined by Islam, above all considerations in any decision, and rely on the Ummah’s own forces of politicians, military, security and businessmen in the prevention of external dangers and threats.

O our people in Tunisia: The world heard your calls demanding the overthrow of the regime at the beginning of the revolution, and now you confirm once more that you will not be dragged behind those who try to steal your revolution and the future of your generations and make you the servants of the colonialists.

We in Hizb ut Tahrir say to you: Your refusal to participate in the elections is proof of your awareness that this corrupt political system does not represent you, and that elections can not change it, but it can be changed by working hard with a conscious leadership of the sincere and loyal people in order to establish the system of Islam, the Deen of the Lord of the worlds, only then the elections will be a guarantee and choice and not as they are now, just to deceive and distract the people!!
