The UN Continues to Fail in Protecting Women and Children in CAR from Sexual Abuse and Violence

A new report has condemned the UN for failing to respond to allegations of child abuse against French peacekeepers in the Central African Republic.

The independent investigation released on Thursday (17/12/15) said the UN handling of the sexual abuse case was “seriously flawed”, accusing it of not taking the required action after the alleged abuse of young boys by French soldiers became known.

“The end result was a gross institutional failure to respond to the allegations in a meaningful way,” the report, ‘Taking Action on Sexual Exploitation and Abuse by Peacekeepers’, said. (Source: Aljazeera.com)

Comment:

The UN has utterly failed to protect the Muslim women and children of CAR from sexual violence and abuse from either French Sangaris so-called Peacekeeping forces or from anti-balaka militia criminals. In response to reports leaked to The Guardian Newspaper of French U.N. Peacekeepers raping 10 to 12 minors from the destitute children in the Central African Republic between December 2013 and June 2014, a new report titled, ‘Taking Action on Sexual Exploitation and Abuse by Peacekeepers’, has condemned the UN of its gross institutional failures to respond to these sexual abuse allegations against French soldiers.

French Sangaris soldiers stationed in their army base beside the international Bangui Airport, had been accused of sexually abused boys as young as 9 years old, luring the children with army rations and small change when their families had nothing to feed them.

Media accounts by Associated Press reveals that one of the boys’ mother told journalists that her son was just 9 years old when he was assaulted by French soldiers. She spoke on condition of anonymity so as not to identify her son as a victim of sexual abuse. Her family had fled to the Bangui Airport the first day of the sectarian clashes in December 2013, and she and her son are still living there. “The children were vulnerable because they were hungry and their parents had nothing to give them, so the children were forced to ask the soldiers for food,” she recalled. “They took advantage of the children forcing them to perform oral sex and also sodomizing them,” she said.  However, after the report was completed, the U.N. suppressed it and did nothing to stop the crimes that were described in the report, and it did not bring the perpetrators to justice.

The U.N. claims that it is a moral authority in the protection of women and children in the world, and yet wherever it goes the reports of child abuse, prostitution rings, sex slavery, human trafficking and the like follow it.

These horrible crimes in Central Africa are not the first of its kind; we have not forgotten the cold-blooded massacre of Muslims in Srebrenica-Bosnia under the eyes and noses of the “Peacekeepers” belonging to the United Nations.

Muslims must reject the U.N. and the major countries that sponsor and control it.

O you who believe! Do not take the Jews and the Christians as allies. Some of them are allies to others. And whoever takes them as allies among you, then indeed, he is of them. Indeed, Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people.”
