Result of the EU Summit: EU Assigns Turkey with the Task of Guardianship

News:

Turkey-EU Summit has ended. The European Union decided on providing Turkey with 3 billion Euro financial support.

Following the EU-Turkey Summit in Brussels, Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu, European Council President Donald Tusk and European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker held a joint press conference. Stating that the EU accession process will gain momentum in 2016, Prime Minister Davutoğlu said that the aim is to stem the flow of migrants to Europe.

Comment:

While Turkey’s entry into the EU has turned so to say into an unresolved mess and while – in particular over the last 3 years – there have been introduced so many practices and legal regulations contrary to the EU standards, I would say that talking about the EU accession process to gain momentum, as expressed in the news above, should be considered as unawareness of politics, and inability to interpret politics.  Apart from that throughout the period where the AKP came to power in 2002 until 2010, Turkey was not granted membership despite fulfilling the majority of the EU adjustment criteria. Moreover, even the full membership negotiations have not been initiated. Under these circumstances, in addition to the Gezi events in 2013, as well as the huge corruption scandals which shook Turkey and led to heavy criticism regarding freedom of press and speech; it is neither logical nor realistic to think that a boost will be given to Turkey’s full membership process into the EU.

So then, let us have a look at and analyse what was discussed and decided at the Turkey-EU Summit:

  1. The anti-terrorism cooperation: Turkey agreed with the EU on the following basis: “With regards to serious trials in security issues, in particular the increasing threat of terrorism, it is necessary to regularly exchange notes and strengthen cooperation in the fields of Foreign and Security Policy in order to fight all forms and all kinds of terror.” Both the terrorist attacks in Turkey over the last year with high numbers of deaths and casualties, as well as the latest acts in Paris, have turned Turkey and the EU into allies. But allies against whom? Of course against Islam and the Muslims. And what is the pretext for this alliance? ISIL and “Islamic terror”. Therefore this decision is completely related to Syria. Because subsequently following this summit, under the pretext of bombing ISIL, France and UK are going lift their military fighter aircraft from Turkish airbases. And these two countries have passed an act of parliament in order to send troops to Syria.
  2. Readmission agreements and the Syrian Refugee Crisis: Turkey and the EU have reached an agreement on the admission and employment of Syrian immigrants. From now on Turkey will cut the flow of migrants to Europe and according to the readmission agreements will accept back Syrian refugees after a certain time. In return, the EU will give Turkey 3 billion Euros. It is well-known that Europe struggles to solve this refugee crisis already for 4-5 months now. And meanwhile the USA sought to convince especially Britain and France from its Syria plan through exploiting the Syrian refugee flow to Europe. And Turkey during this process, claimed to be overburdened socially and financially due to hosting excessively high numbers of refugees. Now the EU has paid Turkey a certain amount of subvention, demanded Turkey to stand guard against the passing of Syrian refugees into Europe and made Turkey to sign an agreement to retrieve those who already have arrived in Europe till today.

Looking at both points, it is obvious they are not separate from the Syrian issue. The USA have exploited the Syrian refugee issue and the blasts in Europe’s metropolitan cities in order to impose their political plan upon the European countries, while used Turkey literally as a tool for this work. And for a while, Turkey almost abstained of opening its doors to the Syrian people and hosting them. In fact these cruel Kuffar states let the Syrian Muslims down to the deep waters of the sea. Children’s lifeless bodies were washed ashore. And now everything has turned upside down due to the European countries’ decision on cooperating in Syria within the framework of the US plan.

As a result, Turkey is going to sentence the Syrian people to death under the bombardment of fighter aircraft in exchange for 3 billion Euros. Did it not do the same in 2004? In return for 1 billion dollar, Turkey was asked for a parliamentary mandate to permit US’s entrance into Iraq over Turkey.

In summary, Turkey’s four and half years of Syria politics is full of betrayals.
