Poverty Reduces Eid Buying Thanks to Democracy
On 6 July 2016 the Dawn reported, “President All Karachi Tajir Itehad (AKTI), Atiq Mir said, “Overall sales in Karachi are expected at Rs 50 billion as against the target of Rs 70bn”. He attributed the decline to falling buying power of consumers and food inflation”… Another market leader Chairman Sindh Tajir Itehad (SIT) Jameel Paracha said sales hover between Rs 30-35bn in Karachi as against the target of Rs 70-80bn due to declining purchasing power.”
Rampant poverty in Pakistan is not by chance, it is by design and consequence of Democracy. In Democracy, sovereignty and power is concentrated in the hands of a minority elite who make laws according their own interests and rule the country in the way they wish. The rulers in the democratic system take no responsibility for the people; their sole concern is consolidating their position in power and filling their own pockets by impoverishing the people. Furthermore while the rulers enjoy absolute power, yet their accountability is zero as is seen in the case of the aftermath of the Panama Papers.
Only the Khilafah ruling system can solve the problems of the country because it is the system from Allah سبحانه وتعالى, our Lord and Creator. Under this system the Khaleefah has no right to legislate, so he has no scope to be despotic or rule in the way he wishes. The Khaleefah rules the people fearing Allah سبحانه وتعالى and feeling responsibility towards the people. He has to fulfill the basic needs of the people and after that facilitate the fulfilment of their luxurious needs. The Khaleefah also has to account for his actions to all citizens of the state, Muslims and non-Muslims alike. Indeed with Khilafah system upon the methodology of the Prophethood people’s misery and hardship will end; otherwise they will continue to persist for many more decades to come. Allah سبحانه وتعالى says
وَمَنْ أَعْرَضَ عَنْ ذِكْرِي فَإِنَّ لَهُ مَعِيشَةً ضَنكاً وَنَحْشُرُهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ أَعْمَى
“And whoever turns away from My remembrance – indeed, he will have a depressed life, and We will gather him on the Day of Resurrection blind.”
(Taha: 124)
And RasulAllah ﷺ said
«اللَّهُمَّ مَنْ وَلِيَ مِنْ أَمْرِ أُمَّتِي شَيْئاً فَشَقَّ عَلَيْهِمْ فاشقق عَلَيْه»
“O Allah, Whoever is made responsible over my Ummah on an issue and made it difficult on them; make things difficult for him.” (Narrated by Muslim)
Eid is One for the Ummah with Sighting from Any Region Being Sufficient
A full day after many Muslim countries had confirmed that the moon of Shawwal had not been sighted and Eid is on 6 July, Pakistan’s government appointed Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee finally sat and announced that the Shawwal moon was sighted on 5 July and Eidul Fitr would be celebrated across the country on 6 July. Had the committee rejected the moon sightings from the north of the country, as they have done more often than not, Pakistan would have made Eid a day later. As it was, Muslims were waiting until well after Esha. And every year is a spectacle with several Eids around the world
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ clarified that it is not a requirement that every Muslim see the crescent for himself, nor for every region to have a separate sighting. Rather, the sighting of one Muslim suffices for all Muslims, regardless of his race or region. Ibn Abbas (ra) reported,
جَاءَ أَعْرَابِيٌّ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ: إِنِّي رَأَيْتُ الْهِلَالَ – يَعْنِي هِلَالَ رَمَضَانَ -، فَقَالَ: «أَتَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ؟» قَالَ: نَعَمْ، قَالَ: «أَتَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ؟» قَالَ: نَعَمْ، قَالَ: «يَا بِلَالُ أَذِّنْ فِي النَّاسِ أَنْ يَصُومُوا غَدًا» (الحاكم)
“A bedouin came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, ‘I saw the crescent (of Ramadan)’. The Prophet ﷺ said, ‘Do you bear witness that none is worthy of worship save Allah?’ He said, ‘Yes’. The Prophet ﷺ said, ‘Do you bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah?’ He said, ‘Yes’. So the Prophet ﷺ said, ‘O Bilal, announce to the people that they must fast tomorrow.’” (al-Hakim)
Today, the rulers of the Muslim countries have ignored the order of Allah سبحانه وتعالى and His Messenger ﷺ and have instead adopted the rotten concept of nationalism as a basis for the start of Ramadhan and Eid. They reject the moon sighting of other Islamic Lands and insist on a moon sighting within their own country to determine the start and end of the month of Ramadhan. For example, Kuwait, which is even smaller than Pakistan’s Khyber-Pakhtoonkhwa Province, does not accept the sighting of Iraq or Saudi Arabia, even though there is nothing but an artificial border, drawn by the Kafir Britain to destroy the unity between the Muslims, to separate these lands. Similarly the rulers of Pakistan call the meeting of the Ruet-e-Hilal committee only after the moon has been already sighted in other countries the previous day! And this is how the rulers have divided the Muslim Ummah. The rulers try to convince the Ummah that the Muslims are not one body, but many separate peoples living in around sixty states, even though the rulers claim that they want Muslim unity. Thus the essential issue of beginning and ending Ramadhan fasting, demands the return of a Khaleefah Rashid ruling by Islam.
Pakistan’s Armed Forces Must Mobilize for the Oppressed, not Tyrants
Pakistan’s military and political leadership renewed on 5 July 2016 its security assurance to Saudi Arabia following a string of bomb blasts in the kingdom by extremists, including one outside Masjid-i-Nabwi in Madina, the second-holiest site in Islam. The government “reiterates its abiding commitment to the safety, security and territorial integrity of Saudi Arabia,” the Foreign Office said in a statement on terrorist attacks in Madina, Qatif and Jeddah on 4 July. The renewal of security assurance was made public by the Foreign Office after a telephonic conversation between Army Chief Gen Raheel Sharif and Saudi Defence Minister Prince Muhammad bin Salman. “The COAS sympathised with affected families of attack victims and said we stand shoulder to shoulder with our Saudi brothers in fighting the menace of terrorism,” the ISPR said in a statement.
Using horrific attacks by shadowy organizations whose operations are reserved for shedding Muslim blood, the regime is expanding Pakistan’s military involvement with the current Arab tyrants. On 30 October 2015 a joint training exercise was carried out by Pakistan & Saudi Special Forces in Jhelum, Pakistan. Then came the “Islamic Alliance Against Terrorism”, established under the leadership of Saudi Arabia, which is a military coalition of 35 countries was announced on 15 December 2015. On 26 December 2015, Pakistan and Royal Bahrain Navies conducted a bilateral naval exercise titled “Shaheen Al Jazeera”. The exercise was conducted between Pakistan’s Special Services Group-Navy (SSG-N) and the Bahrain Navy special forces at Karachi On 3 January 2016, a joint exercise of Pakistan Special Services Group (SSG) and Bahrain National Guard Special Operation Unit (SOU) was conducted in the gulf state of Bahrain.
After the American failure to suppress the desire of Islam and its Khilafah in Syria and in the Muslim World, she decided to form a military alliance of the tyrannical rulers of Muslims, under the leadership of the so-called Guardian of the Haramain. America knows that if she intervenes to stop the establishment of Khilafah in Syria or anywhere else, then her opposition will confirm to the Muslims that their Khilafah has arrived. In the last fifteen years, military intervention by America and its crusader alliance in Afghanistan and Iraq, as well as political conferences hosted in Western capitals, have failed to deceive and defeat the Muslims. So now America is playing its very last card by ordering the ruler of the most sacred land, wearing Islamic garb as a deception, to formulate a political and military alliance to prevent America’s greatest fear, the return of the Khilafah on the Method of the Prophethood.
Pakistan’s armed forces are not for supporting tyrants in their thrones but their duty is to support the oppressed. It is upon the sincere within Pakistan’s armed forces to reject the alliance of treachery, grant the Nussrah to re-establish the Khilafah (Caliphate) upon the method of the Prophethood and secure the liberation of Syria from the tyrant Bashar. It is upon us to ensure that our armed forces play their part in giving support to the people of Ash-Sham, which is the centre of the believers as the RasulAllah ﷺ said in praise of Ash-sham,
«أَلاَ إِنَّ عُقْرَ دَارِ الإسلام الشَّامُ»
“Verily, the centre of the believers’ abode is Ash-Sham.”
And he ﷺ said,
«أَلاَ وَإِنَّ الإِيمَانَ حِينَ تَقَعُ الْفِتَنُ بِالشَّامِ
“When the Ummah is tested the faith will be in Sham.” [Ahmed]
And he ﷺ said,
«يا طوبى للشام! يا طوبى للشام! يا طوبى للشام»، قالوا يا رسول الله وبم ذلك؟ قال «تلك ملائكة الله باسطوا أجنحتها على الشام»
“O bliss for Ash-Sham! O bliss for Ash-Sham! O bliss for Ash-Sham! They asked, “O RasulAllah, why do you say that? He said that angel of Allah has spread its wings all over Ash-Shaam.” [Tirmidhi]
US War on Terror is Legalizing Crusader Occupation
President Barack Obama announced 6 July 2016 that 8,400 US troops will remain in Afghanistan into 2017 in light of the still “precarious” security situation in the war-ravaged country. “Instead of going down to 5,500 troops by the end of this year, the United States will maintain approximately 8,400 troops in Afghanistan into next year through the end of my administration,” Obama told a news conference. Republican Senator John McCain, a longtime critic of Obama’s military policies, praised the move, but said the president should have kept the entire 9,800 US troops in country. Still, he said, “the decision to retain 8,400 US troops in Afghanistan into next year is certainly preferable to cutting those forces by nearly half.”
This announcement comes after a rare American visit to North Waziristan to see the gains made by security forces during Zarb-i-Azb operation, a visiting US bipartisan Congressional delegation led by Senator John McCain, the chairman of US Senate Armed Services Committee. The US delegation, which returned from North Waziristan’s headquarters Miramshah, deeply appreciated the enormous success achieved by Pakistan in its counterterrorism campaign, which they said was so impressively visible during their trip.
The US administration is setting a new standard for oppression for its agents in the Muslims World. It maintains that a belligerent nation has the right to invade and occupy Muslim Land and then insists that the Muslims cannot fight back. If they do, they are defamed as “terrorists.” And then America calls upon other nations to fight the “terrorists” on its behalf, for its own armed forces lack in bravery and tenacity, despite what they possess of plentiful and sophisticated weaponry. So this is the standard that the US has applied for itself in Afghanistan and Iraq. This is why it calls upon Pakistan to fight its battles for it as the tribal Muslims valiantly and steadfastly resist the American occupying forces in Afghanistan. This is also apparently the standard that America has allowed for the Jewish state, where Palestinian Muslims are brutally persecuted for their rightful resistance to the violation of their lands. And this is also the standard that America has set for India, which can cry “terrorism” and demand that Pakistan crushes the Kashmiri Muslim resistance, despite the fact that the Hindu state has committed all manners of atrocities against the Muslims in Kashmir during its unwanted occupation.
A sincere leadership would expose the ploy of “anti-terrorism.” Rather than urging Muslims to join the folly of an international coalition against “terrorism”, it would rally the Muslim armed forces to decisively liberate the Muslim Lands. No sincere Muslim leadership will ever rule by Kufr, whether it be kingship, democracy or dictatorship, so the expectation of sincerity from the current rulers of Muslims is a fool’s paradise. Thus, the Muslims must redouble their efforts for the establishment of the Khilafah, the only true leadership that will end America’s war to subjugate other nations and deny them the right to resist. Engaging in an alliance with America is Haraam according to the Sharee’ah. Allah سبحانه وتعالى said:
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لاَ تَتَّخِذُوا الْيَهُودَ وَالنَّصَارَى أَوْلِيَاءَ بَعْضُهُمْ أَوْلِيَاءُ بَعْضٍ وَمَنْ يَتَوَلَّهُمْ مِنْكُمْ فَإِنَّهُ مِنْهُمْ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لاَ يَهْدِي الْقَوْمَ الظَّالِمِينَ
“O you who believe! Take not the Jews and the Christians as Auliya’ (friends, protectors, helpers, etc.), they are but Auliya’ to one another. And if any one amongst you takes them as Auliya’, then surely he is one of them. Verily, Allah guides not those people who are the Zâlimûn (polytheists and wrongdoers and unjust)”
