Man-Made Laws Continue to Deny Pakistan its True Potential
On 1 October 2017 the Dawn Newspaper reported that the Pakistan’s rulers are planning to introduce a “new round of regulatory duties planned to curtail imports” where a senior official was quoted as saying, “The government is trying to both incentivize exports and reduce imports by coming up with a regime of regulatory duties.”
The government has failed to recognise the root of the problem. Protectionism and seeking to remove the trade deficit will not raise Pakistan’s economy according to its actual potential. The problem in Pakistan is that due to the absence of Islam, there is concentration of wealth, rather than distribution. That is from the angle of economic system. Adding to this problem is that due to the impact of colonialism, there is a deficiency from the aspect of economic science.
From the aspect of economic science, it is clear that despite having abundant mineral, energy and labor resources, Pakistan’s industry is weak and does not fulfill the heavy industry requirements of a modern strong state. What is the value of imposing restriction on the import of foreign tomatoes, whilst Pakistan is dependent on Japanese engines, US arms, Chinese construction machinery, German industrial machinery and British chemicals? What is the value of applauding exports of sports goods, when we are not able to produce world class vehicles, medical equipment and stealth military technology.
Due to the absence of Islam as a system, the abundant mineral and energy wealth is handed over to a few hands through privatization, even though Islam has stipulated such resources as public property, whose benefit is for all the citizens of the Khilafah (Caliphate). RasulAllah ﷺ said, «المسلمون شرکاء فی ثلاث الماء والكلأ والنار» “Muslims are partners in three things: water, pastures and fire (energy)” [Abu Dawood]. At a time when the world is crying out for salvation from the economic policies of the Capitalist West, the Muslims of Pakistan need to rid themselves of the slavish rulers, who fulfill the Western systems and colonialist plans. This will only occur when they move to implement the Khilafah, so that the world can witness fruits of the economic system of Islam and witness a Khaleefah Rashid that strives to make the Islamic state as the world’s leading state, as it was for centuries previously.
“Friendly” Military Exercises with Russia are a Clear Violation of Islam’s Prohibition of Alliance with Belligerently Hostile States
Due to conclude on 4 October 2017, Pakistani and Russian military commandos engaged in joint “counterterrorism” drills in the two-week-long exercise dubbed as “Friendship 2017.” It involved more than 200 mostly special forces from both countries. They conducted joint “hostage rescue” and “cordon-and-search” operations, according to the ISPR. The ISPR further said, “The joint exercise will enhance and further strengthen military ties between the countries and share Pakistan army’s experience in war against terrorism.” Moreover, it is expected that the October 4th conclusion of the drills will coincide with an official visit to Russia by the Pakistan Army chief, General Qamar Javed Bajwa.
This joint military exercise has come at a time when Russian fighter jets are bombarding the thickly populated Muslim town of Idlib in Syria. Previously a similar exercise in 2016 coincided with the Russian bombardment of the city of Aleppo in Syria, killing civilians in thousands. Fully aware of the situation, Russia is engaging the most capable army of the Muslim world at the time of this attack. Simultaneously, traitors within the military leadership of Pakistan are portraying these “Friendship” exercises as part of realignment away from the US. Far from being a friend, Russia is a fierce enemy of Islam and Muslims. Russian hands are soaked with the blood of more than a million Muslims during the Soviet Invasion of Afghanistan, more than 200,000 Muslims in Chechnya, whilst it continues to spill the pure Muslim blood of Muslims in Syria. Furthermore, Islam, its values and political expression have been banned and suppressed by Russia within its borders for decades. So how can the most capable army of the Muslims have “friendly” exercises with such a staunch enemy of Islam and Muslims?
Pakistan’s political and military leadership wants to publicize these friendly exercises to counter their image as US puppets in its war against Islam. However, any aware person knows that Pakistan continues to be under the US circle of influence, internally and externally. Even these friendly exercises are with US approval, to improve the image of its agents when there is widespread anti-American sentiment, as well as increasing Russia’s capabilities as it does America’s dirty work in Syria.
Such alliances are a clear violation of Allah’s Hukm as Allah the Supreme said,
لَّا يَتَّخِذِ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ الْكَافِرِينَ أَوْلِيَاءَ مِن دُونِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَمَن يَفْعَلْ ذَٰلِكَ فَلَيْسَ مِنَ اللَّهِ فِي شَيْءٍ إِلَّا أَن تَتَّقُوا مِنْهُمْ تُقَاةً وَيُحَذِّرُكُمُ اللَّهُ نَفْسَهُ وَإِلَى اللَّهِ الْمَصِيرُ
“Let not believers take disbelievers as allies rather than believers. And whoever [of you] does that has nothing with Allah, except when taking precaution against them in prudence. And Allah warns you of Himself, and to Allah is the [final] destination.”
(Aali Imran 3:28)
The meaning of the ayah is the decisive prohibition of believers taking the disbelievers as friends, such that they seek their assistance and depend upon them, where they befriend them and alliance exists between them. Yet, our rulers within the political and military leadership continue to pursue our belligerent enemies whether America, Russia or China. It is incumbent upon us to seek strength and honor within the Deen of Allah (swt), through the Khilafah on the Method of Prophethood, unifying all Muslim lands under a single flag and tearing up any alliance whatsoever with any of these belligerent states.
Pakistan’s Rulers Confirm their Destructive Alliance with the US
US Secretary of State, Rex Tillerson, said after a meeting with Pakistan’s Foreign Minister, Khawaja Asif, on 4 October 2017 that he believed the United States had a reliable partner in Pakistan. When asked if the meeting with Pakistan’s foreign minister had convinced him that the United States had a reliable partner in Pakistan, Secretary Tillerson responded: “Yes, I believe we do. “It is not just about Afghanistan. This is about the importance of Pakistan, and Pakistan’s long-term stability as well,” said Mr Tillerson. The secretary of state added: “So, we think there is an opportunity for us to strengthen that relationship. We’re going to be working very hard at all levels, from the State Department to the Defence Department to our intelligence communities, as well as economic, commerce opportunities as well.”
Seven decades of alliance with the colonialists has confirmed that it is a well-trodden path of betrayal, humiliation and insecurity. The last sixteen years of alliance with the crusaders has only brought us military leaders that traded our security and your blood to secure their own luxurious retirements. It brought us Musharraf who mobilized our intelligence, air bases and air corridors to secure the Americans an occupation that they could never achieve by themselves. It brought us Kayani and Raheel who mobilized our strength and power in the tribal areas to grant respite to the cowardly crusaders, who, if left on their own, would have long ago sunk in the “graveyard of the empires”, like the British Imperialists and Soviet Russians before them. And it has now brought us Bajwa, who seeks alliance with the untrustworthy and is busy now extending a rope of political legitimacy to the exhausted US military presence on our doorstep, by herding the Afghan Taliban into the maze of negotiations.
It is time for the Khilafah on the Method of the Prophethood, so we have rulers that seek glory and honour from Islam alone. Allah (swt) warned,
الَّذِينَ يَتَّخِذُونَ الْكَافِرِينَ أَوْلِيَاءَ مِن دُونِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ أَيَبْتَغُونَ عِندَهُمُ الْعِزَّةَ فَإِنَّ الْعِزَّةَ لِلَّهِ جَمِيعًا
“Those who take disbelievers for allies instead of believers, do they seek honor, power and glory with them? Verily, then to Allah belongs all honor, power and glory.”
(an-Nisa’a 4:139)
