“Sellout” Rulers is a Feature of Democracy in Pakistan

As reported in Dawn dated 26 January 2017, The US Central Intelligence Agency’s (CIA) digital release earlier this month of nearly 13 million pages of declassified documents from the 1940s to 1990s has sparked international interest. One of the document stated “Pakistan is not likely to align itself firmly with the West except in exchange for “substantial benefits”.” The document is related to events in the past, however, it shows how the United States brought its way into influencing Pakistan. More, recently similar words were echoed by General Mattis who was appointed as US Secretary of Defence in the new US administration. As reported in Dawn dated 16 January 2017, Mr Mattis told the committee, “I will work with the State Department and the Congress to “incentivize” Pakistan’s cooperation on issues critical to our national interests and the region’s security, with focus on Pakistan’s need to expel or neutralise externally-focused militant groups that operate within its borders.”

Words like “benefits” or “Incentivise” have become so commonly used in reference to Pakistan that our rulers no longer feel shame upon being openly called a “sellout.” Successive governments in Pakistan have ensured external and internal policies are based on the interests of Washington, in return for material benefits and assurances of US for the continuation of their rule. Through a “sellout” leadership, foreign powers have used our army and resources on a rental basis for their own interests. In the Nixon-Kissenger years, to split the Communist bloc, Pakistan was used to entice Communist China away from Soviet Russia. In the Afghan War, instead of standing against both the US and Russian influence and defending our brothers in Afghanistan, Pakistan was used to protect US interests against the Russia.

Today in tribal belt, Pakistan is being used to quell tribal resistance against the US occupation in Afghanistan. And our armed forces under the guise of UN peace missions are regularly sent abroad on assignments to African countries for strengthening the West’s hegemony there and usurpation of wealth by the Western powers. It is a disgrace that our brave and formidable armed forces have been held hostage by a select group of military and political leaders who can go to any extreme in serving the colonial powers. Even the general Muslim public and individuals have not been spared by these leaders for Washington’s interests. In return for dollar, Musharraf sold our daughter Dr. Aafia Siddiqui to US intelligence and she is languishing in US prisons for her only crime of being a Muslimah. Since then, it is now a norm for rulers to handover Muslims to the US or making Muslim disappear for years at the behest of the US. These “sellout” rulers have worked day and night to serve the US interests, bringing disgrace to the Muslims of Pakistan and humiliating our military forces by subletting them as mercenaries for these colonialist powers. It is this Democracy which allows these leaders to legislate according to their whims and desires of serve the colonialists.  In Democracy, leaders have the right to define right and wrong, formulating and changing laws as it suits them, such that it becomes easy for them to legislate according to the interests of their foreign masters.

Unlike Democracy, in Islam the Khaleefah does not have the right to legislate according to his whims and desires for he is bound to the Quran and Sunnah. Islam closes the doors to manipulation of laws for colonialists interests from its root, by ensuring that sovereignty is not for man, but for Allah سبحانه وتعالى. Thus, it is only the leadership of the Khilafah (Caliphate) upon the Method of the Prophethood which will ensure that the Muslim armies are used for raising the Word of Allah سبحانه وتعالى as the highest defending the Ummah globally. The Khilafah will not only sever all ties to belligerent states, ending their influence over us, it will also challenge US global hegemony. The Muslims will no longer be for sale or find themselves without any protection, for the Khaleefah will shield them. RasulAllah said, «إِنَّمَا الْإِمَامُ جُنَّةٌ يُقَاتَلُ مِنْ وَرَائِهِ وَيُتَّقَى بِهِ» “The Imam is a shield, behind him you fight and by him you are protected.” (Muslim)

Bowing down before the Hindu State is a Path to Humiliation and Instability

As reported in Dawn dated 22 January 2017, “Indian soldier Chandu Babulal Chohan, who was earlier reported captured from the Line of Control (LoC) on September 29, 2016, was returned to India on Saturday. A press release from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said the soldier was “convinced to return to his own country” after he deserted his post “due to his grievances of maltreatment against his commanders.”

The day when India claimed to have carried a surgical strike inside Pakistan’s territory, an Indian soldier was captured by Pakistan armed forces, whilst crossing over the border. The capture of the soldier at the time was shown to have been a victory by Pakistan’s leaders, but today, without much discussion, he has been released on humanitarian grounds. The release of the soldier is not just some sporadic move. In accordance with the US State Department demands to “exercise restraint,” Pakistan’s rulers are bending before India under the banner of “normalization.” Regrettably, many attempts have been made by Pakistan’s leadership for normalization by extending concessions to India, such as we have seen in the weakening stance over the case of Kulbashan Yadhav, an Indian spy, cracking-down on the Kashmir resistance movements in Punjab, attending the 6th Heart of Asia conference in India, despite India boycotting the SAARC conference in Islamabad and lobbying others for the same such that it was postponed, exercising restraint when Pakistan soldiers are being killed across the Line of Control and offering India a share in the fruits of CPEC (China-Pakistan Economic Corridor). All these actions are taken to fulfill the US plan to establish India as the dominant, unopposed regional power, burying the Kashmir issue forever.

The regime in Pakistan continues to bow-down to the Hindu-State in a bid to fulfill US plans. Successive regimes in Pakistan have unashamedly attempted to scare the Muslims regarding  Indian might. They claim that India has to be accepted as a big player and without normalizing relations with it our survival and economy is in peril. These foreign serving military and political leaders do not hesitate to step over the blood of martyrs of Kashmir and Pakistan Army. This is even though India’s dominance in the region will only bring further instability and humiliation for Pakistan. The current rulers of Pakistan have exceeded all limits. They serve colonialist powers, create wars of Fitna between Muslims to secure Western hegemony, terrorizing them and shamelessly violating their sanctities. And yet they claim that they are seeking stability. It was narrated from Anas that RasulAllah ﷺ said, «من روع مؤمنا لم تؤمن روعته يوم القيامة» “Whosoever terrifies a believer will not be secure from being terrified on the Day of Resurrection.” (Kanz al-Ummal). It is only the Khilafah (Caliphate) upon the Method of Prophethood that will unify the Muslims of Pakistan, Afghanistan, their tribal regions, Kashmir, the rest of the Indian subcontinent as well as elsewhere. The peace in the region will not be restored by bowing down to the Hindu State but by ruling through Islam. The Khilafah (Caliphate) upon the Method of Prophethood will ensure the dominance of Islam in the region, which will not only curb the growing Indian influence, but will also foil US plans for this region. Moreover the rightly guided Khaleefah will sever the ties with the head of the snake, the United States, and rip to shreds its hegemony, through which it has been suppressing, invading, killing the Muslims and turning them against each other.

Is War only for Others to Wage on us?

Director General of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Maj Gen Asif Ghafoor on 31 January, whilst speaking about the ongoing situation with India, said, “We don’t want war with anyone. War is not a solution to anything… We want the Kashmir issue to be resolve via United Nations resolutions and dialogue, but this desire for peace should not be misconstrued as a weakness… There have been 945 ceasefire violations across the Line of Control and the Working Boundary over the past three years… In the last four months alone, there have been 314 violations, due to which 46 Pakistan citizens and 40 Indian soldiers have been killed.”

In the face of Indian hostility, including its brutal suppression of the Muslims of Kashmir, the new military command has declared a US-approved stance of “restraint” and referral to the colonialist institution of the United Nations to “resolve” the matter. We must ask, is war only for others to wage on us? The Muslim Ummah collectively possesses well over three million troops, yet the Hindu and Jewish states, along with the Western crusaders have slaughtered us in hundreds of thousands without reprisal. As for referring our affairs, including Kashmir, to the United Nations, it is as futile because the five permanent veto-yielding members of its Security Council are all belligerent enemies of Muslims and it is haraam because it is a non-Islamic authority (Taghut), ruling by Kufr. Allah سبحانه وتعالى said,

Have you seen those who pretend to believe in what has been revealed to you and what has been revealed before you, how they go in their judgement to the Taghut, though they have been ordered to disbelieve in it. But Shaytan’s wish is to lead them astray”

(Surah An-Nisa’a 4:60)

In blind obedience to the United States, the Bajwa-Nawaz regime is now gathering momentum in betraying our brothers and sisters in Occupied Kashmir, as well as ensuring our humiliation and subjugation before the Hindu State. Whilst taking care to avoid provoking our anger, the Bajwa-Nawaz regime is steadily advancing along the path of surrender, even though it is upon any truly sincere and strong ruler to mobilize our armed forces in a Jihad to end the humiliation, grant respite to the Muslims, energize their tired limbs and heal their broken hearts with sweet victory. True, indeed are the words of RasuAllah , «مَا تَرَكَ قَوْمٌ الْجِهَادَ إلاّ ذُلّوا» “No people abandon Jihad except that they are humiliated” [Ahmad]. And we ask, if our enemies are shaken by pitifully small bands of poorly-armed, yet extremely brave and determined Muslims, so how will they be when they face an organized Jihad by a fully-prepared and motivated Muslim Armed Forces?!

Pakistan’s Regime is Drowning us in Debt and Crippling Our Economic Sovereignty

Dawn reported on 1 February that “In a long and detailed rejoinder to his critics, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar says that the country’s debt profile is in fact improving, and “predictions of doomsday scenario for Pakistan” regarding public debt are overblown.” In his defence, Dar cited that “the Net Debt-to-GDP ratio has remained unchanged at 60.2pc, thus showing no further deterioration” and confirmed that Pakistan will continue adding to its debt stock.

Dar’s response to public concern about Pakistan’s huge debt only adds to that concern. Foreign Exchange has increased through more loans even though remittance of money from Pakistani abroad has dropped, earnings from exports have fallen due to a crippled local industry and Foreign Direct Investment has also plummeted. The debt burden does not include the circular debt owed to the energy sector, or interest loans from the Chinese for the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) as well as other state enterprise debt which is hidden in other vehicles.

The government takes interest based loans from the Kafir colonialist countries which are a debt trap, designed to keep Pakistan in debt so as to strip it of its assets and gravely reduce its ability to stand on its feet as a challenge to the West.  To achieve this, the World Bank, IMF in cahoots with the government selectively employ destructive policies of high taxation and wholesale privatization. These policies deprive the population of public ownership of huge sources of revenue and then leaves the people to take the burden of the expenses of the state, by imposing an entire host of taxes, that choke economic activity and add to the people’s misery, usurping what private wealth they have left. Taxation on buying food, clothing, shelter, earning, inheritance, administration, health and education, renders them “luxuries” for the “privileged” few, and not guaranteed needs for all. Moreover, on the expenses side, the expenditure is primarily to secure the needs of the kafir colonialists and their agents, leaving the affairs of the people neglected.

Capitalism as implemented by dictatorship and democracy in Pakistan deprives the state and the general public huge sources of revenue, through privatization of the public properties, such as oil, gas and electricity. Local and foreign owners of the oil, gas and electricity assets generate huge revenues and sizeable profits from these valuable resources. After returning these assets to public ownership, the future Khilafah can trade in energy resources with foreign states that are not hostile to the Muslims and Islam. In this and similar ways the Khilafah will ensure the benefit of this wealth of the Ummah is for the Ummah itself, rather than becoming a source of misery by allowing private companies to funnel its wealth away as profits, whilst the government adds to burdens of the people by increasing debt and taxation. In addition, capitalism’s drive for private ownership also usurps interests that should be owned primarily by the state, such as machinery and heavy munitions manufacture, telecommunications, major construction and transport. In the coming Khilafah, inshaaAllah, such enterprises are primarily to be regarded as state enterprises, with private companies existing within the field, but under state supervision so as to prevent usurping, eclipsing and dominating the state role as occurs in these dark days of capitalism. The absence of Islam is why under capitalism, the wealthiest companies in the world are energy, arms, machinery and telecommunications companies, whilst the governments are left with only one resort, suffocating the people with increased taxation. Thus, inshaaAllah, under the Khilafah (Caliphate) on the Method of Prophethood, Pakistan will be able to achieve its true unmet economic potential.

But seek the abode of the Hereafter in that which Allah has given you, and do not neglect your portion of worldly life, and be kind even as Allah has been kind to you, and seek not corruption in the earth. Verily, Allah likes not the Mufsidun (those who are mischief-makers, corrupted).”

(Surah Al-Qasas 28:77)
