Democracy Contradicts Islam and Deserves Abolition

Senate Chairman Raza Rabbani has stressed the importance of dialogue among institutions to ensure supremacy of the Constitution and pull the country out of crises. There is a need for a doctrine of dialogue among institutions, he said at the Mufti Mehmood Seminar organised on 8 November 2015 by the JUI-Fazl. Describing the late Maulana Mufti Mehmood as a role model, Senator Rabbani said he had played a key role in framing the 1973 Constitution which was democratic, parliamentary and Islamic, and also ensured provincial autonomy to some extent. Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Qaumi Watan Party Chairman Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao, Awami National Party leader Ghulam Ahmad Bilour, the Jamaat-i-Islami’s Liaquat Baloch and PML-N’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Pir Sabir Shah also eulogised the struggle waged by Mufti Mehmood.

The current political medium is joining the rulers in alienating itself from the Ummah intellectually. At a time when it is well known that Democracy contradicts Islam, the politicians insistence otherwise makes them stand out and apart from the Muslim masses. It is as if the current politicians have blinded themselves to the facts of the matter simply because their livelihood is bound to Democracy.

The basis of Democracy is the rejection of the Deen of Allah سبحانه وتعالى as a complete way of life. It commands what Allah سبحانه وتعالى and His Messenger ﷺ have forbidden and forbids that which they commanded.  Democracy is a system that gives human-beings the choice to obey Allah سبحانه وتعالى or disobey Him, even though Allah سبحانه وتعالى has revealed,

It is not befitting for a believing man or woman to have any choice in a matter, when it has been decided upon by Allah and His Messenger.”

(Surah Al-Ahzab 33:36)

Democracy assigns assemblies of men and women as sovereign, allowing them to choose laws according to their whims and desires, even though Allah سبحانه وتعالى said,

And judge between them by what Allah has revealed, and do not follow their desires, and beware (O Muhammad) that they might seduce you from some of what Allah has sent down to you.”

(Surah Al-Maaida 5:49)

And it is Democracy that makes lords over humankind besides Allah سبحانه وتعالى. Bayhaqi reported that Adiyy ibn Hatim, said: “I came to the Prophet wearing a cross of gold in my neck. And I heard him read from Surah Baraa’ah,

اتَّخَذُوا أَحْبَارَهُمْ وَرُهْبَانَهُمْ أَرْبَابًا مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ

They took the rabbis and monks as lords beside Allah”

(Surah At-Tawba 9:31)

I said, “O RasulAllah, they do not worship them. He said: «أجل ولكن يحلون لهم ما حرم الله فيستحلونه ويحرمون عليهم ما أحل الله فيحرمونه فتلك عبادتهم لهم» “Yes, but they made Halal for them what Allah forbade and they took it as Halal and they made Haram for them what Allah made Halal and they took it as Haraam and that is how they worshipped them.” Democracy can only increase our problems and hardships, bringing us harm in this life and the Hereafter. Allah سبحانه وتعالى said,

وَمَنْ أَعْرَضَ عَنْ ذِكْرِي فَإِنَّ لَهُ مَعِيشَةً ضَنكًا وَنَحْشُرُهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ أَعْمَى

Whosoever turns away from My Reminder, verily, for him is a life of hardship, and We shall raise him blind on the Day of Resurrection.”

(Surah Ta-Ha: 124)

There is only one solution to Democracy, which is its immediate abolition and  replacement by the ruling system of Islam, the Khilafah. Throughout the era of ruling by   Islam, Muslims lived in justice and security, from the time of the Messenger ﷺ in Madinah, through the period of the Khulafaa Rashideen and then throughout the eras of the succeeding Khilafah until the British colonialists abolished the Uthmani Khilafah in Turkey in 1924 with the help of some traitors within the Arab and Turks. The Khilafah state provided its citizens, Muslims and non-Muslims, with security and prosperity domestically and status and honor in the international arena.

Cut Government Funding from Washington, the Real Terror Funding

The government was reminded on 9 November 2015 that progress on the National Action Plan (NAP) on counter-terrorism continued to be marred by inadequate effort to implement some of its key elements. In a brief statement on the meeting, the Prime Minister’s Office said: “Issues of national security were discussed. Different stages of National Action Plan were reviewed.” A government source said that the focus of the meeting remained on the areas where the progress was sluggish. Some of the elements of NAP that have long been identified as poor performing include action against terror financing and foreign funding of seminaries.

The Raheel-Nawaz regime claims that it is concerned about the evident dangers of foreign funding, yet it allows hostile nations to maintain diplomatic missions and intelligence assets on our soil, through which sectarian miscreants are funded, as became clear in the Raymond Davis. Moreover, the regime is itself is drowning the country with foreign funding, whether from the US’s Coalition Support Fund or the Western colonialist IMF’s tranches. It is such funding that has plunged the country into the insecurity and economic misery it faces now. Foreign funding is not a charity and the donor powers have their agenda that they wish to impose on the recipient country. In addition, the Western powers ensure a dependence on loans in the country using various mechanisms, including interest and stripping the country of its assets through rampant privatization. Yet, the regime is accepting funding from nations which are clearly hostile to Islam and Muslims. It maintains relations with them as if they were friendly, exposing the country to grave and ever worsening danger.

Only the Khilafah will cut all types of foreign funding. It will restore the large sources of revenue in the state to their proper status enabling it to maintain its independent political will. It will steer the country according to the commands and prohibitions of Allah سبحانه وتعالى and His Messenger ﷺ cutting the roots of foreign influence forever.

US Can Only Worsen Pak-Afghan Situation

US President Barack Obama’s Adviser Dr Peter Lavoy and acting US Special Envoy for Afghanistan and Pakistan Laurel Miller ended their visit to Islamabad on 11 November 2015, claiming that it was a bid to fix Pakistan’s rocky relationship with Afghanistan. According to the US embassy, they “engaged in productive meetings with senior Pakistani officials”. The visit preceded Army Chief Gen Raheel Sharif’s upcoming visit to the United States, where Afghanistan would be the focus of his discussions with his American interlocutors. In his meetings, Dr Lavoy explained some of the actions taken by Afghan authorities that offended Pakistani officials and widened the gulf between the two countries. He tried to explain why Kabul leaked the news about the death of Mullah Omar, which led to disruption of the reconciliation talks between the Afghan government and the Taliban days before Pakistan was to host the second round of the negotiations. Dr Lavoy’s contention was that the Afghan government was on that occasion constrained to reveal Mullah Omar had died because the Taliban factions were about to do so. He said President Ghani was sincere in making peace with Pakistan and that his outburst after the terrorist strike in Kabul was because of his domestic compulsions. He also conveyed Afghan concerns about Pakistan’s role. Afghanistan has been calling upon Pakistan to rein in the Taliban, who are said to be operating from the Pakistani soil.

America is in no position to act as a moderator between Pakistan and Afghanistan. It is American meddling and interference that has created tensions in the first place. Moreover, America is steering tensions to secure its own toxic presence within the region. It is America that has agents within the leaderships of Pakistan and Afghanistan, who work hard to secure the American presence in Afghanistan. For their part, the agents in Pakistan have mounted operations to fight the Afghan resistance against the American occupation. Whilst the agents in Afghanistan have secured political legitimacy for the American occupation through accords and legislation. And both sets of agents are working in tandem to bring Taliban into the maze of negotiations to provide a final solution for continued American presence.

The way to secure peace for the region is to show America the door. Only the Khilafah will sever the means for American influence and grooming of agents in the region, which is through official contact. It will furthermore wipe out the Durand Line which separates the lands of Afghanistan and Pakistan, gathering the Muslims practically as one force against the colonialist enemy.

Secular Liberalism is the Cause of Exploitation of Minorities, Islam is its Cure

Speaking at a ceremony organised by the minority wing of the PML-N’s Sindh chapter to mark the Hindu festival of Diwali at a hotel here on 11 November, Nawaz Sharif said, “Every community living here whether Hindu, Muslim or Parsi, everyone belongs to me and I belong to them. I am prime minister of all communities.” The prime minister said, “We are one nation and forging unity and consensus among them is my mission. Muslims, Hindus, Sikhs, Christians and Parsis are part of the country.”

Without doubt Islam has secured the life, property and honour of the non-Muslim citizens of the Khilafah state, but the Prime Minister has exposed his corrupt mentality as ensuring that Pakistan remains as a secular state rather than making way for it to become an Islamic state. Using the issue of “tolerance” the Prime Minister and other proponents of secular liberalism insist that no religion should make law for the state as it will favour one religion over another, claiming it is a form of discrimination. However, the results of the West’s secular liberalism can be seen in the tearing apart of the social fabric and the economic exploitation of both majorities and minorities. The final collapse of the failed Communist Eastern bloc has merely served to further incite Capitalism’s insatiable appetite; the Western elite have tasted blood and will not stop until they have exploited all the people of the world, regardless of race or religion. In the Muslim World, in exchange for securing the interests of the Western elite, the agent rulers are allowed a small share of the spoils.

The world only enjoyed peace and stability for all peoples, regardless of race or religion, when Muslims implemented Islam. For a thousand years, Islam was the global superpower, establishing a peaceful and harmonious civilisation as a model for the rest of the world to follow. Such was the security and stability provided to the world order by the Islamic superpower that a technologically advanced people, the Chinese, were able to cut back their military forces and unilaterally dismantle their navy whilst a technologically primitive peoples such as in southern Africa were able to live in simple tranquillity without external fear. Compare the stability of this era with the turmoil and conflict of the present Western civilisation, which has been responsible in its brief three centuries of existence for the unparalleled exploitation of the resources and the peoples of the world and the instigation of terrifyingly massive wars on a scale never before witnessed by mankind. Ruling must be taken back from the secular liberalists and returned to Islam. The world must again take shelter in Islam, with the re-established Islamic Khilafah resuming righteous leadership of world affairs thus liberating mankind from the degradation of the self-worship of man and returning mankind to the worship of Allah سبحانه وتعالى alone.
