The Khilafah Will End Politics of Ethnic Conflict
The Muttahida Qaumi Movement is set to get its candidates elected as mayor and deputy mayor of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation after a landslide victory in the 5 December’s local government elections. While the MQM clinched a maximum number of union committees – 134 of 209 – the PPP and the PML-N emerged as the second and third-largest parties. The MQM became the single largest party in four districts — Central, Korangi, East and West. It clinched 50 of the 51 seats in Central district, 34 of the 37 UCs in Korangi, 19 of the 31 UCs in East and 21 of the 46 UCs in West district. The MQM also got five of the 13 UCs in Malir and 10 seats in South district.
The results have sparked a debate because MQM is a party that represents a specific ethnic grouping within Pakistan, the Urdu speaking Muhajir. Karachi’s population contains Muslims of all ethnic backgrounds found in Pakistan. There are more Pashtun Muslims in Karachi than in Peshawar or Kabul. There are also many Balochi and Punjabi Muslims. Karachi’s largest population is that of the Muhajir, Urdu-speaking Muslims, who migrated at the time of the partition of the Indian Subcontinent to Pakistan from the northern Muslim areas of India. These Urdu-speaking Muslims were important pillars of the Islamic rule over the Indian subcontinent for over half a millennium and a cradle for the resistance to the British occupation for nearly two hundred years. However, rather than allowing harmony in Karachi on the basis of the great unifying force of Islam, so it can naturally contribute and steer the entire region, successive rulers have nurtured ethnic and sectarian division in the city, crippling it with continuous strife. For their part, the ethnic parties exploit persecution from other ethnic minorities or the government itself to boost their votes. The need for people to group together, especially ethnic minorities, is a trait common in democracy because the needs of the majority factions are given preference over the minorities. These ethnic groups fight with other groups for rights and a share of the state’s attention and revenues. This encourages and fans animosity between different citizens of the state consolidating divisions amongst the society. And Karachi has been burning in the fires of ethnic rivalry for decades.
The Khilafah upon the method of the Prophethood alone will end the politics of ethnicity because the laws are made by neither majorities nor minorities. The laws that are implemented are those revealed by Allah سبحانه وتعالى Who does not discriminate on the basis of ethnicity. Moreover, in the Khilafah political parties will not be made on the basis of ethnicities. As Hizb ut Tahrir has declared in its Introduction to the Constitution, Article 21, “The Muslims have the right to establish political parties in order to account the rulers or to reach the rule through the Ummah on the condition that their basis is the Islamic ‘Aqeedah and that the rules they adopt are Shari’ah rules. The formation of a party does not require any permission. Any group formed on an un-Islamic basis is prohibited.”
Spreading Terror to Suppress Islam
The civil and military leaderships reiterated on 7 December their resolve to continue the operation in Karachi till elimination of the last terrorist and to take all measures to achieve the target. This was the outcome of a high-level meeting held at the Governor’s House to review the law and order situation and progress in implementation of the National Action Plan. The meeting was presided over by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. It was attended by Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad, Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah, Army chief Gen Raheel Sharif, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Corps Commander Karachi Lt Gen Naveed Mukhtar, ISI Director General Lt Gen Rizwan Akhtar, DG Rangers Maj Gen Bilal Akbar, Chief Secretary Mohammad Siddique Memon, Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Mohammad Waseem, Sindh IG Ghulam Haider Jamali and chiefs of intelligence institutions and other senior officials.
The National Action Plan is a plan to challenge the long and deeply held beliefs of the Muslims of Pakistan, using the issue of criminals and sectarian miscreants as a cover. It is the brainchild of Washington’s Joint Working Group on Counter-Terrorism and Law Enforcement which targets the Muslims rejection of foreign occupation and implementation of non-Islamic laws. It is the modern equivalent of the British Raj’s draconian rule in which it worked to force the Muslims to abandon their centuries of adherence to the Quran and the Sunnah. Arrests of educated Muslims are taken place just because they reject foreign occupation of Muslim Lands and the man-made laws of Democracy and advocate Jihad against foreign aggressors and the establishment of ruling by Islam. These arrests are accompanied with regime press releases, conferences and circulars to those in influential posts to demonise Muslims that hold Islamic values.
However, just as the British failed to make the Muslims abandon Islam in the past, the current lackeys of America will also fail. Their only success is to fully expose their enmity to Islam and treachery against its Ummah.
Co-operation is Needed to End American State Terrorism
Pakistan and Afghanistan, which jointly hosted the fifth Heart of Asia process ministerial meeting, have laid emphasis on regional cooperation for defeating terrorism. The call for increased cooperation against security threats came as senior officials of the countries participating in the Heart of Asia process and those supporting it met at a preparatory session on 8 December for the ministerial meeting held here on 9 December. “In our view, closer regional cooperation can play an effective role in eliminating the scourge of terrorism,” Adviser on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz said while opening the meeting of the senior officials.
The current rulers of Afghanistan and Pakistan will be reviled by future generations just as Mir Jafar and Mir Sadiq are reviled today for their co-operation with the British colonialists during the British Raj. The current rulers are forcibly crushing resistance to the American occupiers. They are working to secure the colonialist America which seeks to exploit the resources of the region, including the immense mineral wealth of Afghanistan and whose presence represents a grave danger to the security of the Muslims in the region. The co-operation that is needed today for the current Pakistan armed forces, the Afghan National Army and the tribal Muslims on both sides of the current Durand Line unify as a single brotherhood to eradicate the crusader presence on Muslim Lands. Such a scenario is only possible under the Khilafah upon the method of the Prophethood which is eagerly awaited. Allah سبحانه وتعالى said,
وَيَوْمَئِذٍ يَفْرَحُ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ * بِنَصْرِ اللَّهِ يَنْصُرُ مَنْ يَشَاءُ وَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الرَّحِيمُ * وَعْدَ اللَّهِ لَا يُخْلِفُ اللَّهُ وَعْدَهُ وَلَكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ النَّاسِ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ
“And that day the believers will rejoice in the victory of Allah. He gives victory to whom He wills, and He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. [It is] the promise of Allah and Allah does not fail in His promise, but most of the people know not.”
(Surah Ar-Rum 30:4-6)
Peace in Kashmir Mandates End of Hindus in Ruling and Authority
Notwithstanding the government’s euphoria surrounding the resumption of “comprehensive bilateral dialogue” with India, political parties across the aisle expressed their reservations over the outcome, alleging that the joint statement favoured New Delhi. “While the statement categorically addressed Indian concerns over the Mumbai trial, what about Samjhota Express case and Kashmir cause which the government recently took up at the United Nations and kept on boasting about taking such a bold stand,” PTI leader Dr Shireen Mazari said while speaking on a point of order in the National Assembly on 10 December 2015. Quoting from the joint statement that “the Indian side was assured of the steps being taken to expedite the early conclusion of the Mumbai trial”, she sought clarification about the difference between ‘composite’ and ‘comprehensive’ bilateral dialogue. “As far as I know, the term ‘composite dialogue’ was also a creation of the Indian side, which now has come up with a new terminology, ‘comprehensive dialogue’,” she said.
The rulers and the opposition are running in circles chasing their tails over the issue of India and Kashmir because neither of them have Islam as a basis by which to fix their regional and global view. There will never be any peace for Kashmir, or the Indian Subcontinent, as long as the Hindus have any degree of authority within it. They are undeserving of what the British granted them of government at partition, or what the America seeks to grant them now of dominance through her Kashmir roadmap. The Hindus are incapable of justice when they have any degree of authority over others, whether Muslim or other oppressed minorities throughout India, such as the Tamil or the Sikh. Their religion is based upon discrimination between the priest class and the untouchable, the Hindu and the non-Hindu. Democracy by its very nature only worsened and brought excess to this tendency, because Democracy always favours the majority over the minority. Under the world’s biggest democracy, the Hindu State, the Muslims have suffered most of all the minorities, whether in Assam or Gujarat. As for Occupied Kashmir, tens of thousands of Muslims have been murdered or held in prison without trial, thousands have been raped or tortured, hundreds have been burned alive or disabled and hundreds of mosques and hospitals have been levelled to the ground. There will never be peace and prosperity whilst the Hindus have a state and authority through which to harm the Muslims. Allah سبحانه وتعالى says,
مَا يَوَدُّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا مِنْ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ وَلاَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ أَنْ يُنَزَّلَ عَلَيْكُمْ مِنْ خَيْرٍ مِنْ رَبِّكُمْ وَاللَّهُ يَخْتَصُّ بِرَحْمَتِهِ مَنْ يَشَاءُ وَاللَّهُ ذُو الْفَضْلِ الْعَظِيمِ
“Neither those who followed earlier revelation who deny the truth, nor the Mushrikeen like to see good bestowed upon you from your Sustainer; but Allah bestows grace upon whom He chooses- for Allah is limitless in His great bounty.”
(Surah al-Baqara 2:105)
It is our Deen, Islam, and our Deen alone, that is the way for peace and security not just in Kashmir, but the whole of the Indian Subcontinent and Muslims alone are its rightful rulers. From the time of Muhammad bin Qassim raheemahullah and for a thousand years afterwards, Islamic rule brought peace and prosperity to the Indian Subcontinent. It was Islam that raised the Indian Subcontinent as the economic envy of the world, compelling the British Empire to strengthen its economically failing dominion by invading the region and claiming India as a Jewel in its fading and tarnished Crown. It was Islam that established unparalleled harmony and citizenship between the many and varied people of this region for centuries. The fact that Hindus remain as a majority after a thousand years of Islam in the Indian Subcontinent, shows that Islamic rule was a stark contrast to its Kufr contemporary rule, such as the barbaric Christian rule in Spain or the tyrannical Halakus of Asia which viscously slaughtered those who held other religious beliefs. It is little wonder that Hindus sided with the Muslims against the British in 1857, for they knew they were better off under Islamic rule, rather than the capitalist British rule.
