The Khilafah is the Only Way to End Colonialist Divide and Rule of Muslim States

The Pakistani Foreign Office (FO) on 9 May 2018 expressed concern on the United States’ (US) withdrawal from the so-called Iran deal, saying that the decision will affect the world community’s efforts to solve the “conflict” with Iran. In a media statement, the FO said that the US’s withdrawal from the 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) would weaken the dialogue process that was meant to find a solution to the conflict. Still, Pakistan hopes that the remaining five signatories — Britain, France, Germany, China and Russia — will work out a way to ensure that the deal is upheld, the FO said. The FO also reiterated its support for the Iran deal — which had limited Iran’s nuclear programme so that the latter could not produce a bomb, in return for the lifting of most of the US and international sanctions against it.

The current Muslim states disregard the command of Allah (swt) for Muslim unity such that Muslims should not have borders between them. It is such division, on ethnic or sectarian grounds, that exposes them to harm from the enemies, who seek to control their affairs through carrots and sticks. Instead the current rulers hold international laws and borders as sacred, even though international law and borders were founded in Christian Europe, as manifested in treaty of Westphalia, to counter the Islamic State as it opened the lands of Greece, Romania, Albania, Yugoslavia, Hungary and Austria to Islam. Whilst  the armies of Muslims discarded these so-called international borders and establishing allegiance to the Hukm of Allah (swt) alone, they responded to the calls of the oppressed from the Indian Subcontinent to Europe. The oppressive rulers were terrified of the Muslim armed forces to the point that a general norm existed amongst the Christians that the Islamic army is invincible, and when Muslims fight they do not give regard to death, because they believe they will enter Jannah once killed, and because they believe that life and death is from Allah (swt) alone. The Christian oppressor were forces into retreat and many ran away from the battlefield, assisting the Islamic State to sweep over lands and liberate them for the authority of Islam. And it is worthy of consideration that the colonialists insist on Muslims maintaining borders, whilst such international laws and borders are violated whenever the colonialist powers see material interests. So, we see flagrant disregard whether it is the US occupation of Iraq, the Russian occupation of Crimea or the France attack on Mali.

The current rulers will always hold the Muslims back through their adherence to Western imposed borders. They will never allow Muslims to reattain the status of the world’s leading power, allowing them to disregard the so-called international laws and borders, so as to respond to the cries of Muslims all over the world. Instead, they are moving persistently in path of “divide and rule” that was set by their colonialist masters, as obedient slaves. It is high time for the people of Pakistan in general and the officers of the armed forces in particular to turn the tide by re-establishing the ruling by the Deen of Allah (swt), so that a Khaleefah Rashid can unify all Muslim lands under the authority of Khilafah on the Method of the Prophethood. And hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together and do not become divided. And remember the favor of Allah upon you – when you were enemies and He brought your hearts together and you became, by His favor, brothers. And you were on the edge of a pit of the Fire, and He saved you from it. Thus does Allah make clear to you His verses that you may be guided.” [Surah Aali Imran 3:103]

Pakistan’s Security Will be Achieved by Expelling US Personnel Rather than by Erecting Walls at Afghanistan Border

On 8th May 2018, Chief of the Army Staff Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa inaugurated the work for erecting fences along the Pak-Afghan border near Panjpai area of Balochistan. The Pakistan Army has already completed work on a 5km-long fence on the border near Panjpai. In total 1,268km-long fences would be erected along the Pak-Afghan border. According to official sources, 250 Frontier Corp forts — one at a distance of every 3km — would be built and 16-foot-high watchtowers will be built at every kilometer to ensure proper monitoring of the border. Talking to tribal elders and local people, Gen Bajwa thanked them for their support for the fencing of the border, saying that it would help in checking the movement of terrorists on the border.

During the first Jihad against Soviet Russia in Afghanistan, Pakistan never felt the need to erect heavy fortifications along the Pak-Afghan border to ensure security. This was the case even though at that time, the regime in Afghanistan was hostile and installed by Soviet Union. Moreover, there were hundreds of thousands of Soviet Russian troops, along with the world’s foremost intelligence agency, the KGB. Yet, our borders were secure because the Muslims were all in one row. The Muslims of Pakistan supported their Afghan Muslim brothers in fighting the occupying forces of Soviet Russia, such that they liberated Afghanistan  from foreign forces.

However, when America invaded Afghanistan in 2001 and the Muslims of Afghanistan and their brothers in the tribal areas of Pakistan took arms against her, the political and military leadership of Pakistan sided with the US occupation. So in order to stop the Muslims of Pakistan from supporting their Afghan Muslim brothers, the US incited a war of Fitna in the tribal areas of Pakistan. The political and military leadership used this as an excuse to practically fracture the relations between the Muslims living on both sides of the Durand Line by erecting walls to stop the movements of “terrorists”. Any division, separation and hostility between the Muslims of Pakistan and Afghanistan is against the commands of Allah swt and it only serves the interests of US and her ally, India, which is an arch rival and enemy of Pakistan.

Insecurity is because of American presence in Afghanistan which allowed our foe India to use Afghan soil against Pakistan. A sincere leadership would work to expel US from the region, seal her embassy in Islamabad, expel US diplomats, intelligence officials and the Raymond Davis Network, sever the NATO supply line and extend support to Afghan Mujahideens, rather than build walls on the Pak-Afghan border. Creating walls between the Muslims only benefits the enemies of Islam and Muslims and erasing walls will strengthen Muslims. And obey Allah and His Messenger, and do not dispute (with one another) lest you lose courage and your strength depart, and be patient.” [Surah Al-Anfal 8:46]

All the Muslims of the World are One Ummah and their Ramadhan and Eid is also One

Al Jazeera while commenting upon the expected start of the blessed month of Ramadhan reported on 8th of May that in the United States and Europe, some of Muslim communities rely on astronomical calculations and will thus observe Ramadan from the eve of May 15, with the first day of fasting being May 16. While Saudi Arabia and most Arab countries are expected to sight the new moon on May 15, Morocco, Iran and Pakistan may see it on the following day because they started the current lunar month one day later. It is pity to see that the Muslim Ummah is divided today over the start of the blessed month. Every year an issue arises over the start of Ramadhan, as well as the day of Eid. In many Muslim countries, including Pakistan, Ramadhan and Eid are announced on different days. Yet, establishing the exact date of moon through sighting is of great significance for the Muslims, as it not only determines the beginning of Ramadhan, it also determines the search for Laylut al-Qadr. As such, the Ummah finds itself anxious and confused, with each and every individual seeking a solution.

It was narrated that Ibn ‘Abbas (ra) said: “The Messenger of Allah said: «صوموا لِرُؤيتِهِ وأَفْطِرُوا لرؤيتِهِ فإنْ غُـبِّيَ عليكم فأَكْمِلُوا عِدَّةَ شعبانَ ثلاثين» “The Messenger of Allah said: Do not fast before Ramadan. Fast when with its sighting and stop fasting with its sighting, and if clouds prevent you from seeing it, then complete Thirty (Days).” [An-Nisa’i] The Muslims of the world, without exception and wherever they may live, are addressed by this hukm, just as Allah (swt) addresses the entire Ummah in matters such as Hajj, Zakat and Jihad. The hadith also makes clear that the moon sighting by any Muslim is sufficient, because the word “ru’yati” used in the hadith includes the sighting by any single Muslim. Hence, if any Muslim sights the moon of Ramadhan then this witness is a confirmation for the entire Ummah. And as the moon sighting by a Muslim in a particular country has no greater weighting than a sighting in any other, a moon sighting in one locality is binding upon all other areas. This is the case whether the areas are close to each other, such as Rawalpindi and Peshawar, or are thousands of miles apart, such as Karachi and Jakarta or Riyadh and Istanbul or Tehran and Khartoum. Just as Allah (swt) has made the Muslims one Ummah, He (swt) has also made it obligatory for the Muslims to begin their fast on one day and begin Eid on one day, as one Ummah. The action of RasulAllah (swt) clarifies the matter as it is mentioned in a hadith narrated by a group of Ansar (ra) that, “Clouds covered the moon of Shawaal, so we continued the fasts the next day. Some travelers came to Madinah toward the end of the day and gave witness to the Prophet ﷺ that they had seen the moon on the previous day. So RasulAllah ﷺ ordered them (the people of Madinah) to break the fast and make their Eid the following day.” So, even though clouds covered the moon in Madinah, RasulAllah ﷺ ordered the Muslims to end the fast on a day that they thought was part of Ramadhan, due to the sighting of the Shawaal moon by a people from a place outside of al-Madinah al-Munawara.  Thus, it is explicitly clear in Islam to start and end the Fasting of Ramadhan together and the matter finds consensus amongst the classical scholars of Islam.

However, today, the rulers of the Muslim countries have ignored the order of Allah (swt) and His Messenger ﷺ and have instead adopted the rotten concept of nationalism as a basis for the start of Ramadhan and Eid. They reject the moon sighting of other Islamic Lands and insist on a moon sighting within their own country to determine the start and end of the month of Ramadhan. For example, Kuwait does not accept the sighting of Iraq or Saudi Arabia, even though there is nothing but an artificial border, drawn by the kafir to destroy the unity between the Muslims, to separate these lands. Similarly the rulers of Pakistan reject the sighting in neighboring Afghanistan or Musqat, whilst shamelessly calling the meeting of the Ruet-e-Hilal committee only after the moon has been already sighted in other countries the previous day. And this is how the rulers have divided the Muslim Ummah.  Due to the rulers neglect and rejection of Islam, Muslims are not even able to secure their individual worships as they must. Today the disunity on the issue of moon sighting is but one of the many problems which the Muslims are facing due to the absence of the Khilafah, which takes care of all the affairs  from Ibadah to Jihad of the Muslims according to the rules of Islam. Thus, it will be the establishment of Khilafah state alone that will ensure the rules regarding worship along with all the rules of Allah (swt) being implemented and we will be blessed to live our life in accordance with the Hukm of Allah (swt), our Lord.
