Bismillahi Al-Rahman Al-Raheem
On 10 August 2007, during a news conference at the White House, US President George W Bush endorsed the holding of elections within the present system in Pakistan, whilst warning against radical views. President Bush said, “It’s also important for Americans to understand that he (Musharraf) shares the same concern about radicals and extremists as I do and as the American people do. My focus in terms of the domestic scene is that they have a free and fair election. And that’s what we have been talking to him about and I’m hopeful they will.”
Numerous American government and military officials, including President Bush himself, have repeatedly made clear why they are concerned about Muslims with radical views. On 6 October 2005, whilst addressing the National Endowment for Democracy, Bush condemned the Muslim belief that, “controlling one country will rally the Muslim masses, enabling them to overthrow all moderate governments in the region and establish a radical Islamic empire that spans from Spain to Indonesia.” And on 1 May 2007, whilst addressing the US military’s CENTCOM coalition conference, Bush condemned all those who “seek to establish a radical Islamic Caliphate (Khilafah).”
The Americans prefer that the Muslims remain engaged in the present system, rather than undertake the radical work of uprooting the present system and re-establishing the Khilafah in its place. Were the Muslims to establish a single Khilafah state, which would eventually span from Spain to Indonesia as occurred in the past, the Islamic Ummah would be more than strong enough to resist America’s occupation of her lands and exploitation of her resources. Indeed, the Khilafah state would be a state unmatched in terms of lands, armies, wealth and population by any existing world power.
Moreover, the Americans are fully aware that the desire for the Khilafah is stronger and more widespread amongst the Muslims than ever before. A survey supported by the US Department of Homeland Security and conducted by the University of Maryland between December 2006 and February 2007, revealed that the majority of Muslims held a goal “to unify all Islamic countries into a single Islamic state or Caliphate (Khilafah).” And American media carried reports of a huge conference organized by Hizb ut-Tahrir calling for the re-establishment of the Khilafah, which was attended by 100,000 Muslims in Indonesia on 12 August 2007.
So, rather than allowing Muslims to implement their own deen in their own lands through the Khilafah state, America is determined that the Muslims cling to the present system. America realises that the present system will always secure its interests because it is a man-made system. Whoever enters the present system, with sincere intentions or otherwise, will make laws and policies according to the whims and desires of those who brought him or her to power. So, the entire nation is enslaved to the dictates of the colonialist policies of America, Britain, the IMF and the World Bank. All this is why American officials are active in meeting Pakistan’s politicians at home and abroad and calling for elections within the present system.
Unlike the present corrupt system, the Khilafah will ensure that the interests of Muslims are never sacrificed for colonialist interests. Although the Khaleefah and the members of the Majlis-e-Ummah will be elected, neither the Khaleefah nor the representatives are allowed to decide what is Halal and what is Haram for themselves, as occurs in the present man-made system. Rather, they are all bound to refer to the Qur’an, Sunnah and Ijma-as-Sahaba رضي الله عنهم. Accordingly, consultation (shura) will never extend to making the Halal into Haram or the Haram into Halal. So, there would never be consultation on ordering riba, general sales tax or privatisation to allow Western control of electricity, oil and gas, for these matters are forbidden (Haram) in Islam. Nor will consultation be on forbidding the hudood of Allah سبحانه وتعالى, the liberation of the occupied Muslim Lands or the Islamic ‘aqeedah being the sole basis for culturing people, for these matters are obligatory (fard) in Islam.
O Muslims of Pakistan!
Under the present system, the ruler becomes an oppressor in the light of Shari’ah, because he does not rule by the deen of Allah سبحانه وتعالى. Allah سبحانه وتعالى revealed,
وَمَنْ لَمْ يَحْكُمْ بِمَا أَنزَلَ اللَّهُ فَأُوْلَئِكَ هُمْ الظَّالِمُونَ
“Those who do not judge by all that Allah has revealed, they are the oppressors.” (Surah Al-Maidah 5:45)
The present system is based on the doctrine of separating the ‘aqeedah from life’s affairs. This system was established in Europe by the people to rid themselves of oppression by the rulers, in the name of religion. However, this man-made system opened the doors for a new form of oppression in which a small capitalist elite manipulates the law to secure its own interests, forsaking the masses. This applies to America, where immensely wealthy capitalist individuals and companies ensure laws secure their benefit, as much as it applies to Pakistan, where politics is a business for securing personal interests in exchange for fulfilling Western interests. The present oppressive system contradicts Islam and it is prohibited for a Muslim to engage in such a system. Allah سبحانه وتعالى revealed,
وَمَا آتَاكُمْ الرَّسُولُ فَخُذُوهُ وَمَا نَهَاكُمْ عَنْهُ فَانْتَهُوا وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ شَدِيدُ الْعِقَاب
“So take what RasulAllah assigns to you and deny yourselves that which he withholds from you. And fear Allah; for Allah is strict in Punishment.” (Surah Al-Hashr 59:7)
O Muslims of Pakistan!
The West knows very well that the time for Islam in the Muslim World has come; in fact the re-establishment of the Khilafah is long overdue. In a last desperate attempt, the West calls the Muslims of Pakistan to support the present man-made system that has only brought them misery for over sixty years. The West seeks to change faces only, so that the system that has secured its interests for so long remains.
Changing faces is not enough; only the implementation of Islam will rescue you from your miserable situation. You must deny the West their last desperate attempt to distance you from Islam. You must reject any support of the present corrupt system, such as voting for those who accept ruling under the current system. And you must end the Western domination over your affairs, by establishing a Khilafah state, in which the elected ruler and representatives work only to please Allah سبحانه وتعالى the Lord of the Worlds.
O people of power!
You are the people of Nusrah (material support), like the noble Ansar before you who gave the material support to RasulAllah صلى الله عليه وسلم in order to establish the rule of Islam in Madinah. It is by the grace of Allah سبحانه وتعالى that you enjoy power at a time that the Ummah has turned strongly to Islam and the Khilafah is on the horizon. And it is by the grace of Allah سبحانه وتعالى that you are able to end the oppression of your people, through the implementation of Islam. Hizb ut-Tahrir calls you to uproot the present corrupt system and re-establish the Khilafah in its place. So, who amongst you will respond to the promise of Allah سبحانه وتعالى and support His cause?
وَلَيَنصُرَنَّ اللَّهُ مَنْ يَنصُرُهُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَقَوِيٌّ عَزِيزٌ
“Allah will certainly support those who support His cause, for indeed Allah is full of strength, exalted in might and able to enforce His will.” (Surah Al-Hajj 22: 40)
