Obama presidency will continue the US crusade against the Muslim Ummah
Official Spokesman of Hizb ut-Tahrir in Bangladesh Mohiuddin Ahmed issued a press release today in reaction to the election of Barak Obama as the 44th US president.
In his statement Mohiuddin Ahmed said Barak Obama’s slogan for change is a lie. The capitalist and imperialist policies of the US will not change. Obama will continue the crusade against the Muslim Ummah launched by George W Bush. He will not end the US occupation of Muslim lands. Obama’s policy is to only redeploy US troops from Iraq to Afghanistan. Obama has also made public his intention to pursue a war against Pakistan. Furthermore he will not end US support for the illegal Zionist Jewish state of Israel. In June, Barak Obama said to a pro-Israel lobby, the American Israel Public Affairs Committee that Jerusalem “will remain the capital of Israel, and it must remain undivided.”
Mohiuddin Ahmed also said there was nothing really historic about Barak Obama’s election as the first African-American president despite the American propaganda machine trying to prove the success of US ideals through this. Rather it is a sad and flimsy attempt at proving America’s ‘greatness.’ 1400 years ago Islam had resolved this issue. Narrated Anas bin Malik: Allah’s Apostle صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم said, “You should listen to and obey your ruler even if he was an Ethiopian (black) slave whose head looks like a raisin.” (Sahih Bukhari Volume 9, Book 89, Number 256)
Mohiuddin Ahmed warned the Muslims to be aware of attempts by agent rulers and intellectuals in the Muslim world who will spread the lie that Barak Obama’s election will lead to a ‘better America.’ He said the Islamic Ummah must speed up the effort to re-establish the KHILAFAH which can challenge US hegemony and liberate our lands.
