President of the United States Barack Obama had once again set foot in Malaysia to attend the US-ASEAN Summit last week. This visit is part of a series of visits which also saw Obama attending the G20 Summit in Turkey and the Council of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation in the Philippines. According to the US Ambassador to Malaysia, Joseph Yun, Obama’s presence will touch on regional security issues and also issues related to the Trans Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPPA) which had already been agreed upon by Malaysia and is just waiting for its ratification. This visit is the second visit of the President of the imperialist state to Malaysia during his administration. His presence was received colorfully by Najib who is eager to please the terrorist. Najib, the Prime Minister of Malaysia, portrays himself as having a good relationship with Obama on many occasions, including when he was seen playing golf with the terrorist leader last year in Hawaii. What is worse is that, the game was played during the time when Malaysia was hit with the worst flood in decades!

One of the main reasons for Obama’s presence was the continuation of US foreign policy towards Southeast Asia, focusing on efforts to curb the influence of China in the region. The justification of ‘maintaining security and restoring the balance of regional geopolitics’ is nothing more than a political and economic strategy to curb the ambitions of China in challenging US hegemony in the region. The United States will never stand idly watching its influence erode in a region which is rich in natural resources and one of the busiest trade routes in the world. Under its foreign policy known as the “pivot to Asia”, the Obama administration is trying to gain diplomatic support from Asian and East Asian countries. From an economic standpoint, the US is working hard to bind the countries of the Pacific through TPPA which is full of intrigues and hidden agendas. In addition to using diplomatic and economic approach, the US is also working on the military front where US warships are now sailing close to the coveted waters between China and several Southeast Asian countries. The US is also re-establishing military ties with the Philippines, a country that was once its colony.
The Southeast Asia region is also dominated by Muslims. Hence, his visit is also a manifestation of the “soft power” methodology which aims to coax Muslims into supporting US’s devilish plans. Obama’s cunningness in playing with sentiments, especially when dealing with the Muslim world, have successfully deceived many Muslims, especially the leaders. Through the US propaganda machinery, Obama is trying to clean the already rotten image of the US in the eyes of Muslims. In tandem, Obama’s presence was also related to the US effort to promote democratic civil Islam, under the guise of moderation, pluralism, liberalism and tolerance to combat what he described as “extremist” Islam. Through the empowerment of civil society in the Muslim world, Obama also injects toxins that mold the ideas of freedom and democracy in the minds of Muslims. This is evident when Obama had several representatives of civil movements in Malaysia to participate in closed-door dialogues during his visit. In the meantime, a number of US-sponsored think tanks helped to spread the ideas of freedom, which are plated with Arabic terms so as to be accepted by Muslims as being in line with Islamic teachings.
Through a policy of “Combating Violent Extremism”, Obama also sought to discredit Islamic political movements that work outside of the democratic domain and sought to associate these groups as being prone to violence. All of this is done to curb the revival of the pure ideology which stems only from Islam. This can be clearly understood through his words and actions.
Despite the veiled softness of Obama, the arrogance and cruelty of US in bullying other countries through international institutions such as the UN, WTO, IMF and World Bank still continue. His ‘Global War on Terror’ is still in operation although this has been given a rebranding, as the term carries a negative connotation to the Muslim world because every literate person knows that the war on terror is in fact a war on Islam.
Muslims in South East Asia and the whole world should realize that any form of friendship with the United States would only invite disaster upon us. In fact, what is most important for us to understand is that it is forbidden for us to establish friendly relations with the United States. US foreign policies in undermining Muslims and Islam makes the US a ‘al-Daulah al-Kaafirah al-Harbiah al-Muharibah bi al-Fi’li (an infidel country that is openly fighting the Muslims), even though Obama tries to hide this fact. Obama’s hands are stained with the blood of Muslims and the knife he used to kill Muslims is still clutched tightly in his grasp for him to continue his killing spree.
Wake up, O Muslims, the United States as an imperialist state and Obama, who represents the country, is never sincere in his ‘friendship’ with the Muslims. Every step of his way is filled with deception and trickery and everything he does will only invite calamity.
وَلَنْ تَرْضَىٰ عَنْكَ الْيَهُودُ وَلَا النَّصَارَىٰ حَتَّىٰ تَتَّبِعَ مِلَّتَهُمْ ۗ
“And never will the Jews or the Christians approve of you until you follow their religion”
(Al-Baqarah, 2:120)
