In response to the Abusive Drawings against the Prophet ﷺ in this Repressive Atmosphere Support Us at Hashtag #MohammedVZMH Campaign

Once again the Dutch Freedom Party leader surfaced to speak badly to about Islam and Muslims as his habit, but this time he spewed his poison during a television broadcast concerning political parties, and introduced the caricatures depicting the Prophet ﷺ. As if this alone is not enough to abuse the Prophet of Islam and Muslims in general, thus he chose the holy month of Ramadan to show the images depicting the Prophet peace be upon him, to be a humiliation directed to a nation exponentially.

The Freedom Party leader has no goal and no ambition except to offend Islam and Muslims, and this is clear for all to see, rather he prefers to make his dirty remarks openly in order to exaggerate in the defamation and insult of Muslims. And it is known that this policy makes peaceful coexistence between different community spectra impossible. What is happening, in the Netherlands in particular and the West in general, resembles a cancerous tumor that does not accept the existence of non-diseased cells, but quickly this cancer moves to the non-diseased cells and destroys them then it affects all organs in the body which eventually leads to inevitable death.

The existence of this cancer is a major problem, but the biggest problem is the body allowing this cancer growth, and allowing this cancer growth in the body indicates the presence of a diseased unhealthy and weak body. Therefore, we are pointing our finger at the Dutch government, which has for many years applied hostile policies toward Islam and Muslims, and at parties that disagree with the Freedom Party in style but agree with it on its objectives, democracy, and the so-called freedom of expression, which is exploited in order to abuse and defame those who disagree ideologically with them, as well as at most media. We accuse all these for contributing to the poisoning of the atmosphere in the Netherlands, which has led to the growing of this kind of extremist elements and parties.

As long as some people continue to walk on a destructive path and rely on the so-called freedom of expression which makes it possible to abuse an essential component of the community that cannot be ignored – which is the Muslim community – and allows it to be assaulted and insulted in the most precious matter they have in this life, that is, the Prophet ﷺ, such a situation raises fears and anxieties and portends that the future in this country will not be better than it is now.

The Dutch government has to change its stance and behavior towards Muslims if it wants to live with them in peace, and if that does not happen and the policy to offend the Prophet ﷺ, who is the dearest person to the Muslims, continues, then Muslims should not remain silent, instead they should stand up against this abuse and work tirelessly to expose the Dutch policy hostile to Islam and Muslims.

The selection of the Holy Month of Ramadan for insulting the Prophet of Islam ﷺ, and on Dutch television, has a great significance, for it was possible for those in charge of this matter to take into account the feelings of Muslims, especially in this holy month. Nonetheless, they were in their transgression, wandering blindly, and decided to continue with what they determined of abuse. Although the Dutch proverb says: ‘whoever throws the ball should expect its rebound at him’, but with a difference of course; we do not intend to conduct a campaign of abuse and will not publish cartoons offensive to anyone, because the Prophet ﷺ who they abuse had prohibited such despicable acts.

In the face of what is happening, we as a Muslim community, in this Holy Month, can become more and more unified, and pledge to love the Prophet peace be upon him. And that love requires us to follow his guidance and work on the arbitration of his Shariah. And we will defend him, and we will be united, to be able to address these despicable abuses and repeated attacks on our Prophet, by carrying his call to the people and introduce them to this Holy Prophet.  Finally, peace be upon the Prophet of Allah ﷺ, hoping that our brothers and sisters will join us at the hashtag: #MohammedVZMH
