Delegation of Hizb ut-Tahrir in Bangladesh visited the Turkish Embassy to protest against the arrests of more than 200 members of Hizb ut-Tahrir in Turkey

A three member delegation of Hizb ut-Tahrir in Bangladesh led by the Chief Coordinator and Official Spokesman Mohiuddin Ahmed visited the Embassy of Turkey in Bangladesh today to protest against the arrests of more than 200 members of Hizb ut-Tahrir, Wilayah Turkey. On the morning of Friday 24th July, 2009 the Turkish security forces conducted raids in 23 cities simultaneously and arrested more than 200 members of the party. The Turkish authority committed this heinous crime two days before the Khilafah conference which was scheduled to be held on 26th July in Islambul (Istanbul) and one day after distributing leaflets for the event. It should be mentioned here that Hizb ut-Tahrir arranged conferences globally in remembrance of the destruction of the Khilafah on 28th Rajab, 1340 AH corresponding to 3rd March, 1924.

When the delegation team asked for a meeting with the Ambassador, the embassy officials said that he was on leave. The delegation then asked to meet the First Secretary but he refused. The team then handed over a leaflet and press releases written in Arabic and Turkish which were issued by Hizb ut-Tahrir and the KöklüDeğişim magazine (the facilitators of the conference) to the embassy officials. At this time, Mohiuddin Ahmed strongly condemned the arrests of the party members and demanded their immediate release. He further said such oppression can never stop Hizb ut-Tahrir in its struggle for re-establishing the Khilafah.

The leaflet issued by Hizb ut-Tahrir reminded the Turkish government of the punishment of Allah سبحانه وتعالى in the Hereafter. It also stated that by the permission of Allah the Khilafah is coming soon, inshaAllah, despite the oppression of the tyrants from the Turkish secularists, the puppets of the British and the Turkish government who are dressed in the garb of Muslims but are enemies to Islam and agents of America.

Mohiuddin Ahmed
Official Spokesman of Hizb ut-Tahrir in Bangladesh
