The level of attacks against Islam and Muslims has escalated once again within the last few weeks. The cause for this attack this time, undertaken by the media and political directions of various factions, was a television series programme broadcast on the Danish 2 channel (TV2). The manner of this programmes recording and production, utilising filthy and twisted methods, exposes this channel, its dubious objectives and lack or credibility, more than it exposes the values, concepts and Ahkam (rulings) that the Muslims are convinced of and apply.
Before the campaign launch of this channel, one of the private Islamic schools was exposed to defamation by the media and measures were threatened to be taken against it. This was due to it giving advice to its students not to form illicit relationships with the opposite sex. That is in spite of this advice being praiseworthy and completely in accordance to the Shar’iah rulings.
If there is one matter that unites the western politicians, then it is the hate-filled campaigns against the rulings of Islam. So you see them competing to outdo each other in respect to proposing criminalising suggestions against the Muslims. Starting from thought control to rehabilitation programmes as if the Muslims in Denmark are a large criminal gang!
This latest campaign is no more than a new episode in the war of ethics against Islam which the media and political elite in this country have been actively engaged in for many years. Successive Danish governments have sent military forces and fighter planes to a number of Muslim lands to force Muslims to accept democracy whilst domestically there are attempts forcefully assimilate Muslims into Denmark.
With the launch of the so-called “war on terror”, the process of assimilating Muslims into Western societies and “combatting terrorism” have been incorporated into becoming one single matter in the values war against Islam within the Western democracies. And by providing the intelligence agencies wide powers and not subjecting them to being monitored, in addition to collective spying and harsh exceptional laws targeting the Muslims, these ‘Democracies’ have become not far from being totalitarian regimes.
By its launching of what has been called “Combatting extremism and radicalism” the enemies of Islam have taken a further step and so they went to criminalise fundamental Islamic practises like the prayer and staying away from corrupt celebration environments. In recent years the doors of the Muslims’ private life have been broken in an attempt by the state to control the Muslims’ raising of their children and in their attempt to control their social life under the excuse of fighting “Social isolation” which they claim that the Muslim community is forcing upon their children, and under the pretext of combatting the clashes that arise from the concept of “honour” that the Muslims hold.
In other words: It is obligatory to force them to be liberated! We have even seen the forced removal of one of the sons of the Muslims due to his receiving of an Islamic upbringing and education in the case that happened in the city of Aurhaus… And so in this way, through campaigns of distortion, psychological aggression and intellectual bullying, fear is being instilled into the Muslims and pressure is being applied upon them so that they give up the values of Islam and its rulings. Once again the truth of the Speech of Allah سبحانه وتعالى is manifested:
إِنَّ الْكَافِرِينَ كَانُوا لَكُمْ عَدُوًّا مُّبِينًا
“Verily, the disbelievers are to you a clear enemy”
(An-Nisaa’: 101)
With the Danish constitution in their hands, the politicians pride themselves in the freedom of belief and freedom of expression, whilst at the same time they wave a stick in a hysterical manner above the heads of Islamic organisations and Muslim individuals anytime they express an Islamic opinion that those politicians don’t like. The spiteful statement of the integration minister about levelling the Masjid into the ground is nothing but a clear expression of this intellectual despotism that is being practised against the Muslims in Denmark. In this way the politicians are levelling their values and principles into the ground through their reactionary and oppressive vindictiveness against Islam. Their attack against the superior values of Islam exposes the lie of their statement that the values of freedom are universal values.
The odd matter is that these politicians and media erect themselves as guardians of morality and as such condemn some of the speech of Muslims as being multifaceted or ambiguous whilst at the same time these politicians and media are experts and professionals in hypocrisy.
O Brothers and Sisters in Islam:
The vindictive campaign against Islam shows that the enemies of the Deen, under the pretext of integration, are in reality, demanding from you to erase your Islamic identity and to be assimilated into the melting pot of the western values. You, O honourable Muslims, must state clearly and openly that it is impossible for Islam to be moulded or assimilated or for it to become a secular Deen. That is because Islam is not just your personal religion or your moral philosophy, but rather it is much greater than that. That is because it is a comprehensive spiritual and political ideology revealed in truth from the Creator سبحانه وتعالى. Islam contains rulings for all of life’s affairs and systems that regulate the state, society and public affairs. All of these components form the Islamic Sharee’ah that is considered a part that cannot be separated from Islam! And the demand of the West to abandon a part of Islam is a demand to abandon Islam itself as the basis of your identity. That is whilst we are confident and feel assured that you will never ever agree to this demand as long as you remain Muslims.
And what is the West presenting to you as an alternative to your Islamic mode of living: A divorce rate of 50%? A broken family unit? The elderly abandoned in nursing homes? Neglected children? Youth living an immoral and destructive life drowning in alcohol, drugs and filthy relationships?
The war against Islam is global and we should, as Muslims, remind the Danish politicians that the Muslims have been subjected to worse persecution due to their Islam: in Bosnia, Chechnya, Uzbekistan and Syria, without that leading them to give up their Islam, whether partially or as a whole. So whenever the level of the war against Islam increases the Muslims’ holding on to their Deen increases. The developments that we are witnessing today really confirm to us the historical truth about the continuous existence of the struggle between the Haqq (truth) and the Baatil (falsehood). This struggle is a definite matter in the minds of the Muslims and it cannot lead except to one single result, and that is the victory for Islam once and for all.
هُوَ الَّذِي أَرْسَلَ رَسُولَهُ بِالْهُدَىٰ وَدِينِ الْحَقِّ لِيُظْهِرَهُ عَلَى الدِّينِ كُلِّهِ وَلَوْ كَرِهَ الْمُشْرِكُونَ
“It is He who has sent His Messenger with guidance and the Deen of truth to make it prevail over all religions, even though the Mushrikeen hate that”
(At-Taubah: 33)
O Muslims:
Verily, your Islam is the Deen of the Haqq (truth), it is the salvation for humanity, revealed from the Lord of the worlds سبحانه وتعالى upon the best of all of mankind, Muhammad ﷺ. For that reason, the noble Islamic Sharee’ah is the reference point for every small matter and every large matter in life, and it is the only legislation that is capable of bringing about justice and tranquillity to people in the life of this Dunya (world). This is contrast to the man-made secular legislations that do not bring anything other than corruption and oppression. For that reason, hold firmly and resolutely to every part and aspect of your great Islam and do not allow the vindictive to accomplish their goals where they make the Muslims bow their heads, kneel down and give up Islam or where they attempt to strip, interpret and change it to fit with the Western taste.
The thoughts and values that the politicians and media are attacking are Islamic thoughts and values that all of the Muslims upon the face of the earth hold on to. So for that reason, do not allow the war against Islam weaken you or cause your distress or sadness… Rather unite upon holding to the Haqq (truth) irrespective of the consequences and costs because it is this holding that will bring you success in this Dunya (life) and the Hereafter.
Islam has made complete truthfulness obligatory upon you when you are questioned about Islam. Indeed, it has obligated more than that and that is for you to carry Islam to the people and to present is as it is, with power and confidence in Allah سبحانه وتعالى. The thoughts, values and rulings of Islam must be explained clearly without any ambiguity and that is because the Da’wah to Islam makes it obligatory to be frank always and because pleasing and satisfying the enemies of Islam is an impossible matter unless one of us was to apostatize from Islaam and refuge is sought in Allah from that.
Conveying Islam is your role in this life and so do not break your covenant with Allah. Rather be the best Ummah raised out for mankind; ordering the Ma’rouf (good) by inviting non-Muslims to Islam, its just system and its correct way of living, and forbid the Munkar (wrong) by exposing the error and falseness of their ideologies and values. By doing that, you would have fulfilled your Amaanah (trust) and represented Islam in the best way in this part of the world.
And to the Islamic organisations and Masaajid in Denmark:
The latest television programmes and the reactions that followed them is a political action, the aim of which is to put pressure upon you to make compromises from Islam, with the hope that the newly emerging generations of Muslims will emulate you in compromising parts of Islam.
The intention is to frighten you so that you do not teach the Muslims their superior Sharee’ah and so that you do not offer them guidance in accordance to the teachings of Islam, under the fear of spies and hidden cameras. However, know that this is not a cause for fear if you hold on to Islam as all of the Sharee’ah of Allah represents good, and that rather it is the spiteful hate ridden politicians who should feel the most shamed from their hypocrisy that knows no limits, their fake ideals and corrupt civilisation.
Indeed, we call the organisations, associations, Masaajid and Islamic centres in this country and remind them with the Ayat of Allah which threaten and warn in respect to responding to the enticements of the disbelievers and submitting to their pressures:
وَإِن كَادُوا لَيَفْتِنُونَكَ عَنِ الَّذِي أَوْحَيْنَا إِلَيْكَ لِتَفْتَرِيَ عَلَيْنَا غَيْرَهُ وَإِذًا لَّاتَّخَذُوكَ خَلِيلًا * وَلَوْلَا أَن ثَبَّتْنَاكَ لَقَدْ كِدتَّ تَرْكَنُ إِلَيْهِمْ شَيْئًا قَلِيلًا * إِذًا لَّأَذَقْنَاكَ ضِعْفَ الْحَيَاةِ وَضِعْفَ الْمَمَاتِ ثُمَّ لَا تَجِدُ لَكَ عَلَيْنَا نَصِيرًا
“(And indeed, they were about to tempt you away from that which We revealed to you in order to [make] you invent about Us something else; and then they would have taken you as a friend. And if We had not strengthened you, you would have almost inclined to them a little. Then [if you had], We would have made you taste double [punishment in] life and double [after] death. Then you would not find for yourself against Us a helper”
(Al-Israa’: 73)
O Islamic Associations, Centres and Masaajid:
Hold on firmly to the Haqq (truth) and do not offer any concessions. Do not be enticed by the campaigns of the enemies of Islam and their offers. As long as Allah did not give the most basic of concessions in regards to this issue to the most beloved of His Prophets, Muhammad ﷺ, then know for certain that you will never be saved from the painful punishment of Allah if you attempt to please the disbelievers and diverge from Islam.
We see, unfortunately, some of the representatives of these Islamic organisations responding positively to the pressures of the Kuffar (disbelievers) by interpreting some of the rulings of Islam and its principles in a manner of interpretation that those rulings and principles are not open to. That is with the aim of preserving their centres, associations and Masaajid. So we see them washing their hands of or rejecting parts of Islam that the hateful politicians don’t like, like Jihad and Hudood, whilst at the same time they add to Islam that which does not come from it and indeed is contrary to it, like democracy and secularism. They undertake that to protect Islam and the interests of the Muslims according to their claim (or pretence).
To those we say: The following of this path is like holding on to the peel whilst throwing away the succulent fruit, it represents holding on to the means at the cost of the aim. This path could allow you to keep your centres, associations and Masaajid albeit without the pure and clear Islam being present within them.
And once again we say to them: Those who safeguard the Islamic values and rulings are more important than those who safeguard the Masaajid and the centres. Allah سبحانه وتعالى says:
فَذَٰلِكُمُ اللَّـهُ رَبُّكُمُ الْحَقُّ فَمَاذَا بَعْدَ الْحَقِّ إِلَّا الضَّلَالُ فَأَنَّىٰ تُصْرَفُونَ
“For that is Allah, your Lord, the Truth. And what can be beyond truth except misguidance? So how are you averted?”
(Younes: 32)
The correct stance that must be taken in these circumstances is the stance of the Sahaabiy Ja’far Ibn Abi Taalib (ra) when he was called before the King of Al-Habashah to explain the Islamic view in respect to ‘Isa Bin Maryam and his mother (Alaihima As-Salaam) due to the request of the Quriashi delegation. This noble companion did not hesitate (ra) but rather said the Haqq (truth) as it was in spite of the probability that this would agitate the anger of the king and lead to the Muslims being returned to the Quraish to be hounded and tortured by them.
For that reason, we direct this truthful call to you: Be upon the same level as the greatness of Islam and if you are not capable of doing that then abandon your positions for others from the masses to take. That is because is because the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
«سَيَأْتِي عَلَى النَّاسِ زَمَانٌ يُخَيَّرُ فِيهِ الرَّجُلُ بَيْنَ الْعَجْزِ وَالْفُجُورِ، فَمَنْ أَدْرَكَ ذَلِكَ مِنْكُمْ فَلْيَخْتَرِ الْعَجْزَ عَلَى الْفُجُورِ»
“There will come a time for the people that they will be given a choice between the incompetence (‘Ajz) and corrupt evil (Fujoor) so whoever from amongst you reaches that (time) then let him choose the incompetent over the corrupt evil” (Related by Ahmad).
And to the Danish politicians we say: You have failed for decades to create a harmonious society, accommodating to Islam, generating in its place animosity, hatred and polarisation, and now here you are desiring the Muslims to carry the responsibility of your failure. The reality however, is that you have failed due to your insistence upon following your vindictive path that you are still continuing upon, with your policy of animosity towards Islam and your hostile and your misleading media.
The time has come for you to point your accusing fingers to your own ranks and hold yourselves to account because if you continue upon this same reckless path then you will fail time and time again in the future… Islam is present in the western countries and has come to stay. It will spread and take root even more in this country just as its case in all parts of the world.
We in Hizb ut Tahrir challenge you…! We challenge you to debate us in regards to Islam against your values because we are ready to debate you with evidences and proof, in any place and at any time that you desire. We have complete confidence that Islam will be triumphant and at that time the people will see the truth and adopt their position based on subjectivity. So instead of your talk about the Muslims that circulates amongst you and your errors and dirty ‘journalistic’ styles, you can come and debate with us, face to face, and a thought to confront a thought…
بَلْ نَقْذِفُ بِالْحَقِّ عَلَى الْبَاطِلِ فَيَدْمَغُهُ فَإِذَا هُوَ زَاهِقٌ وَلَكُمُ الْوَيْلُ مِمَّا تَصِفُونَ
“Nay, We hurl the truth the falsehood (disbelief), so it destroys it, and behold, it (falsehood) is vanished. And woe to you for that (lie) which you ascribe”
(Al-Anbiyaa’: 18)
﴿يُرِيدُونَ لِيُطْفِئُوا نُورَ اللَّـهِ بِأَفْوَاهِهِمْ وَاللَّـهُ مُتِمُّ نُورِهِ وَلَوْ كَرِهَ الْكَافِرُونَ
“They wish to extinguish the light of Allah with their mouths but Allah will complete His light even though the disbelievers hate (it)”
(As-Saff: 8)
