Conference: "The American Strategy to Fight against Islam in Sudan"

On Saturday the 26^th of Dhul Hijjah 1436 AH corresponding to the 11^th of October 2015, Hizb ut Tahrir held a conference under the heading: “The American Strategy to Eliminate Islam: Its Slogans, Tools, and How to Address them”. It was held in main hall of the ‘Shaheed Az-Zubair Muhammad Saalih International Centre for Conferences’ in Khartoum. The hall was overflowing with a distinguished attendance consisting of politicians and media representatives amongst others and five papers were presented in the conference in addition to a short film about the American strategy to eradicate Islam.

The papers were presented in the conference in two sessions in the following order:

1) ‘The essence of the American strategy to fight Islam’ was presented by Ustadh Nasir Rida, Head of the Central Communications Committee of Hizb ut Tahrir in the Wilayah of Sudan. In his presentation, he shed light upon what is being hatched against Islam and the Muslims in the America centres of studies and research and their attempt to change the Muslims’ concepts and their way of living after America’s failure to subdue the Islamic Ummah by material force and through the American arrogance particularly in the era of the neo-conservatives which was then followed by a strategic change to work in Obama’s term within the hearts and minds! This was across issues in which they desired for the concepts of the Muslims to be upon the American basis like the issues of extremism and terrorism, democracy and freedoms including religious freedom, equality of men and women, and the issue of economic development opportunities. From amongst the most prominent tools that America utilised in this context is what has been called international law; the United Nations, its institutions and international and regional organisations that are subservient to it. They also utilise the media, the agent rulers within the Muslim lands, the pro government Scholars, what they call ‘Civil Society’ organisations, some Sufi groups and what have been named ‘Moderate Islamic Parties’.

2) ‘Terrorism and Extremism – The Trojan Horse for the American strategy towards the Islamic world’ was presented by Dr Muhammad Abdur Rahman who is a member of Hizb ut Tahrir. In his paper, he exposed that America and the western states are those that practise terrorism and extremism if killing the innocent and civilians is what is meant by that. However America wishes to brand Islam with terrorism and extremism whilst they want the Muslims to have a version of Islam that is upon its criteria; an Islam that accepts democracy religious freedom and western control and dominance over the Muslim lands. So anyone who talks about the Khilafah and the Islamic ruling system is a terrorist and extremist in the American view. It finds those who misguide on its behalf within some of the Islamic groups who do not occupy themselves in politics like some of the Sufi paths amongst others. They therefore seek to assist them and raise their status whilst considering them to be moderates.

3) ‘Democracy, freedoms and equality between men and women’ was presented by Ustadh Nasir As-Sadeeq. In his presentation he explained that the western disbeliever and America are striving to make the thoughts and concepts emanating from the capitalist democratic ideology and based upon the separation of the Deen from the life, the thoughts and concepts of the Muslims so that they abandon Islam and its rulings. The oppression and tyranny of the agent rulers and tyrants helps to spread these ideas. Ustaadh Nasir reiterated that these freedoms and the thoughts relating to the equality of men and women amongst other similar thoughts are all contrary to the rulings of Islam and as such it is obligatory for the Muslims to be alert to the danger of these thoughts and the disbelief in them.

4) ‘Economic development opportunities: Between the philosophy of the West and the Islamic civilisation’ was presented by Ustadh Abdullah Abdur Rahman, a member of Hizb ut Tahrir. He made clear that it is from the American strategy to impose the capitalist economic system over the Islamic world and indeed over the world as a whole. This is in spite of what humanity suffers currently today from the scourges of the greedy capitalist system which works to plunder the resources of the weak peoples and particularly those of the Islamic world. Ustadh Abdullah concluded by discussing the inability of the capitalist economic system to manage financial affairs in a manner that satisfies the needs of the human. Rather it generates a misery which will never be removed by anything other than an Islamic State when it applies the Islamic economic system which guarantees the satisfaction of the fundamental needs for each and every individual from amongst its subjects.

5) ‘Making the American strategy fail and how the building of the Islamic State (Al-Khilafah) will happen?’ This final concluding paper was presented by Ustadh Ibrahim Othman (Abu Khalil), the official spokesman of Hizb ut Tahrir in the Wilayah of Sudan and he spoke about how to make the American strategy fail by exposing its tools within the Muslim lands and by placing down a straight line before the crooked lines to make evident the danger of these thoughts, their invalidity and contradiction to Islam. This was whilst making clear that there is no path before the Ummah except to work with Hizb ut Tahrir to establish the second rightly guided Khilafah State upon the methodology of the Prophethood.

The attendees interacted in the discussion period with the topics that were presented whilst those who made comments commended Hizb ut Tahrir and the work it is undertaking to bring awareness to the Ummah in addition to its vigilance over the Ummah’s interests.

The Takbeers and chants demanding the Khilafah continued throughout the events of the conference from the very first presentation until the end of the conference.
