Bangladesh: Budget declared on the basis of the failed capitalist system proves that the current rulers are slaves of West

Chief Coordinator and Official Spokesman of Hizb ut-Tahrir in Bangladesh Mohiuddin Ahmed in a press release issued today said that like the previous years, the current government has declared a budget amid much fanfare. The Finance Minister yesterday declared a big budget of BDT 113,819 crores with big deficit (BDT 34,358 crores). In order to implement the budget the government will either (1) print more money or (2) take more loans from the banking sector – which will increase inflation. The government will also take loans from external sources which will make the country more vulnerable to the imperialists. In addition the government will resort to taxing the people. In all these scenarios, the budget will harm the people.

Budget declared on the basis of the failed capitalist system proves that the current rulers are slaves of West

Mohiuddin Ahmed also said the basis of the budget is the capitalist economic system. Budget deficit is created to fuel economic growth which is a fundamental tenet of capitalism without paying consideration to distribution of wealth. We have seen that these policies give benefit to the capitalists while the fate of the general people never changes. At a time when it has become clear for to everyone that capitalism has failed globally, the current rulers are clinging onto the flawed principles of capitalism. It proves that our rulers are nothing but slaves of Western countries.

Islam has given clear guidelines for revenue collection as well as expenditure. The purpose of the Islamic economic system is to fulfil basic needs of all human beings, not just achieve economic growth. Islam also does not allow the government to print money at its will or take usurious loans to run the country. Mohiuddin Ahmed urged the people to reject the current capitalist system and join the work to establish the Khilafah government which will implement the just economic system of Islam.
