Afghan Media Describes Kabul Students Protest through Western Prism

Several hundred students and lecturers from various universities in Kabul gathered in front of the Kabul University on Wednesday, 22 May 2013, demonstrating against the Bill on “Curbing Violence against Women”. Holding Prophet Mohammad’s صلى الله عليه وسلم Liwaa’ and Rayah, demonstrators expressed their hatred of Western laws enforced upon the Ummah, and called upon the Islamic Ummah not to be further deceived by the plots of the enemies under the pretext of Women’s Rights, Curbing Violence Against Women, Women Protection, Enabling Women, Human Rights and so on.

The demonstrators insisted that under the pretext of such programs, the enemies of Islam and Muslims are trying to spread immorality and decadence among Muslim communities. Chanting slogans against democracy and its values, the demonstrators vowed to Allah سبحانه وتعالى to stand firm on His path and further carry the Dawah towards revival of life under Islam and the banner of Khilafah, even if they were to sacrifice their lives for this sacred cause.

Later on, a number of Afghan and international media outlets distorted the concepts the demonstrators delivered through their placards and slogans. As expected, the Associated Press and a number of other international news agencies described the event using Western fabricated terms such as: extremists, fundamentalists, etc. However, a significant number of Afghan media sources remained silent on the demonstrations, and some others run by Muslim individuals looked at the issue in the same manner as did the Western media.

Bokhdi News Agency on May 22.2013, in a report titled – “Kabul University students demonstrated against the bill on “curbing violence against women” – wrote: “The white flags. Today during the demonstration, the university students were holding white flags, the Kalimat ut Taiebah written on them. The white flag is the Taliban’s symbol. Meanwhile, the demonstrators were holding placards with slogans written on them such as: Our Deen Our Qur’an, Death to Kuffar and Death to the Western Countries.”

Hizb ut Tahrir/ Wilayah Afghanistan calls upon the editors-in-chief of Afghan media sources, not to be used as a tool against Islam and Muslims by Western crusaders. You should not describe true Muslims with deceitful Western terms such as: extremists, fundamentalists and terrorists. You should rather present Islam and Muslims with honesty and sincerity.

The Bokhdi News editor-in-chief should bear in mind that the Black and White Flags are not related to a particular group. They are rather, the Liwaa’ and Rayah of Rasul of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم, which are the only permitted flags that the Islamic Ummah can hold. Besides, it is not permitted that the Muslims carry national flags (that has emanated from European nationalism).

Those in charge of Afghan media sources should have realized that there had been many strong and powerful media across the Middle East that promoted Western agenda throughout the Islamic land. But the Muslims in the region still kept pacing towards awakening and have been working hard to re-establish the Islamic State. And that day is not far that Muslims in Afghanistan will wake up and recognize media sources playing a vital role to retain the American hegemony over Islamic lands, and prevent those working sincerely for the Islamic Ummah.
