Throughout the lengthy, disruptive and violent standoff between the PML-N and PTI, America repeatedly stressed support for Democracy. In the build up to the crisis, the US Ambassador busily met the different factions, underlining that America will only accept change according to the constitution under Democracy. Then, as the crisis began to deepen, the US State Department Deputy Spokesperson said on 22 August 2014 that the US ambassador “meets quite frequently with a range of officials,” whilst stressing again upon acting according to the constitution under Democracy. Then on 29 August, as violent confrontation loomed, the US State Department stressed yet again that “peaceful protests and freedom of expression” were “important aspects of democracy.”
As for those upon whom America depends on for control over Pakistan and its armed forces, they repeated the call of their master, America, to support Democracy. The Raheel-Nawaz regime declared via the ISPR on 1 September 2014, “Army is an apolitical institution and has expressed its unequivocal support for democracy at numerous occasions.” As for the PTI, it exposed itself before the people as undeserving to rule Pakistan, just like the current regime, by struggling for Democracy. On 1 September 2014, Imran Khan spoke with great pride regarding “My eighteen year struggle for justice and Democracy.”
Thus, both directly and through its agents, America stressed upon the support for Democracy because Democracy is the clear guarantor of American interests in Pakistan. This is why in a 12 December 2012 interview to the BBC, when asked about who would win Pakistan’s May 2013 elections, the US Ambassador Richard Olson declared with great confidence, “Our horse is democracy.” Yes indeed, it is Democracy that America steers according to its interests, regardless of who comes to ride as a jockey upon it, whether the PPP, the PML-N or the PTI.
America holds the reigns of Democracy because Democracy is a system of disobedience of Allah سبحانه وتعالى and His Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم. Democracy designates assemblies of men and women as sovereign, allowing them to ignore all that Allah سبحانه وتعالى has revealed and make laws according to their whims and desires, even though Allah سبحانه وتعالى said,
وَأَنِ احْكُمْ بَيْنَهُمْ بِمَا أَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ وَلَا تَتَّبِعْ أَهْوَاءَهُمْ وَاحْذَرْهُمْ أَنْ يَفْتِنُوكَ عَنْ بَعْضِ مَا أَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ إِلَيْكَ
“And judge between them by all that Allah has revealed, and do not follow their desires, and beware (O Muhammad) that they might seduce you from some of what Allah has sent down to you.”
(Al-Maaida 5:49)
America through its constant contact with the rulers and the members of the assemblies, manipulates the laws of Pakistan according to its interests. Thus it is Democracy that is preventing Islam from being implemented in Pakistan and ensuring American interests are secured in its place.
So through Democracy, America ensures that Pakistan’s immense energy and mineral wealth are usurped by privatization, preventing Pakistan from emerging as a strong economy. Democracy ensures Pakistan’s powerful armed forces are sent across the world to secure Western interests, but are confined to the barracks when the Muslims of Palestine and Kashmir call them for liberation. Democracy secures America’s vast network of intelligence and private military in Pakistan, which arranges attacks on our armed forces so as to push them into the tribal regions to fight America’s war. Moreover, by arranging a destructive and pointless struggle over who should ride upon America’s horse, America seeks to divert Muslims from ending the American Raj, by the establishment of the Khilafah state which will purify Pakistan from the filthy American presence and influence.
O Muslims of Pakistan!
Turn away from Democracy and abandon any hope in it, for it is a system of Kufr and the anvil upon which your pure hopes and huge potential are smashed to smithereens. It is upon you to demand that all political parties work for the abolition of Democracy and the return of the Khilafah. And it is upon each of us to join Hizb ut-Tahrir, the political party whose ideology is Islam and works to establish the Khilafah according to the methodology of RasulAllah صلى الله عليه وسلم. Allah سبحانه وتعالى said,
وَلْتَكُنْ منكُمْ أمّةٌ يَدْعُونَ إِلَى الْخَيْرِ ويَأمُرُونَ بِالمَعْرُوفِ ويَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ المُنْكَرِ وَأُولئكَ هُمُ المُفْلِحُون
“Let there arise from amongst you a group that invites to all that is Good (Islam), enjoins the Ma’roof and forbids the Munkar. And these are the successful ones.”
(Aali-Imran 3:104)
O Armed Forces of Pakistan!
It is well known that the power for real change lies within you, the armed forces in Pakistan, as in other Muslim countries. It was the silence of the armed forces of Egypt that allowed the bringing in of Mursi as Democracy’s jockey, and it was their mobilization that was the cause of his removal and continuation of Democracy under a new jockey. In Turkey as well, Democracy rests upon the shoulders of the armed forces. As for Pakistan, our people suffer today because traitors in your leadership have used your great strength in support of America’s horse, Democracy. So, how do you allow your strength to be used to support the system of Kufr and disobedience?
Know that it is these traitors in your leadership that ensure Democracy continues and prevent the return of Islam. That is why they will readily promote and reward any officer that will bend before our enemy, America, selling his people and his Deen for the cheap prizes of Dunya. And that is also why they persecute any officer that strongly supports Islam, such as the honorable Brigadier Ali Khan, who was sentenced to prison on 8 August 2012, after fifteen months detention, and languishes in prison until now, when he should have been raised upon your shoulders in celebratory welcome of the establishment of the Khilafah. How do you accept such abuse of your strength and power in this way, O you who have taken oath before Allah سبحانه وتعالى to protect the country and its people?!
Know that RasulAllah صلى الله عليه وسلم established the Islamic State according to a methodology from which he never wavered, despite severe hardships in its way, the methodology of seeking of Nussrah (Material Support) from its people. Thus, he صلى الله عليه وسلم personally met your predecessors from the men of war, fire and steel, and demanded from them the Nussrah for the complete, comprehensive and immediate implementation of the Deen. He صلى الله عليه وسلم patiently persisted in this methodology, fearing none but Allah سبحانه وتعالى and caring not for the blame of the blamer, until Allah granted success with the Ansar (ra), a small but sincere and brave group of men of war, who gave the Second Pledge of Aqaba, the Pledge of Men, the Pledge of War.
Nussrah for the establishment of Islam as a rule and state is mandated by the methodology of the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم. So, Hizb ut-Tahrir stands before you now, calling you to grant it the Nussrah for the establishment of the Khilafah. This is how you will be honored in this life and rewarded in the next, by abolishing the oppressive rule and establishing the Khilafah on the methodology of the Prophethood. Ahmed narrated that RasulAllah صلى الله عليه وسلم said,
«ثُمَّ تَكُونُ مُلْكًا جَبْرِيَّةً فَتَكُونُ مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ أَنْ تَكُونَ ثُمَّ يَرْفَعُهَا إِذَا شَاءَ أَنْ يَرْفَعَهَا ثُمَّ تَكُونُ خِلَافَةً عَلَى مِنْهَاجِ النُّبُوَّةِ ثُمَّ سَكَتَ»
“Then there will be rule of force, and things will be as Allah wishes them to be. Then Allah will end it when He wishes. And then there will be a Khilafah on the Methodology of the Prophethood.” And then he fell silent.
