The flags and banners of the Khilafah

Today we find a multitude of flags in the Muslim world. These have been carefully designed with colours and symbols to represent characteristics of the nation state. In Islam, we have not been given a choice concerning what type of flag we use even down to the colour. The shariah has specified the type of official flag the Khilafah will use and therefore we cannot deviate from this. Furthermore, we cannot wave flags that represent concepts which are against Islam such as nationalism and division of Muslim lands. The article below is taken from the book “Institutions of State in the Khilafah” by Hizb ut-Tahrir.

The Khilafah will protect the honour of the Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alaihi wasallam)

A new anti-Islamic film ‘The Innocence of Muslims’ has been released in America. Unable to control their venom and hatred for Islam, the kuffar have once again unleashed a vicious attack on our beloved Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم.

Sam Bacile, the film’s creator is not the first to produce a drama insulting the Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم. In 1889 Henri de Bornier, a French poet and dramatist wrote an anti-Islamic play called Mahomet. Even though the Uthmani Khilafah was in a declined state and dubbed the ‘sick-man of Europe’, the French Prime Minister Charles de Freycinet banned the play in 1890 after opposition from the Khilafah.

Only the Khilafah will bring real change

Whenever the people’s frustration rises to extreme levels anywhere in the Muslim World, from Tunisia to Bangladesh, the Western colonialist seeks to preserve the current, corrupt system, with a mere face-change and face-saving changes to a few laws. It is obvious these days, that to please their Western masters, the traitors within Pakistan’s political and military leadership are creating a “King’s Party” or a “Q-league” to quell the Ummah’s anger against the system. But, the capitalist system is the actual cause of misery in Pakistan for over six decades, implemented by both dictators and democrats alike. Until this system is up-rooted and replaced by the Khilafah, no real change will ever occur. So, Hizb ut-Tahrir here wishes to provide you an overview of the Khilafah, which will not only save you from oppression in this world, it will save you from the anger of Allah سبحانه و تعالى in the Hereafter as well.

Reflections on the Islamic World 2011: Waiting for the 5th Wave in the Muslim world – the establishment of Khilafah

The year 2011 has passed. In general, there are not many fundamental changes that have occurred in the Islamic world. The Islamic countries are still objects of the imperialist Capitalist countries. Iraq and Afghanistan are still occupied. The American military bases spread across the Islamic world especially in the Middle East, are a reflection of the American occupation with the consent of the puppet governments.

How would a future Khilafah respond to the Somalia Famine?

Distribution of the aid and resolving the crisis will require pooling resources from many government agencies and the armed forces. The Khaleefah can personally take charge of this or send an Assistant Khaleefah (Mu’awin Tafweed) who has the same powers as the Khaleefah in his capacity as a deputy. The Assistant Khaleefah can then take control of all government agencies and armed forces involved in the disaster relief operation, cutting bureaucracy which could delay aid distribution.

America and the Caliphate: Past & Present

In the International arena today, America continues to project itself as the lone unrivaled global power. Despite its ailments and suffering economy, and the setbacks in its decade long wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, it continues to lay claim as a superpower. In the past few years, America has opened new war fronts. From the escalations in Somalia, Drone strikes in Yemen and Pakistan, and assault on Libya, America has either ventured alone, or with its NATO allies. The Muslim world is engulfed in this imperialist storm. In spite of the enormous resources, the Muslim world has witnessed turmoil in her lands, as a result of her rulers sheepishly giving into the demands of the US. This is the grim reality of the Muslim lands with respect to the US at present.

Justice through Islamic governance

The continuing protests in the Arab world are demanding change rather than more of the same Western interference

With the Arab spring in full flow, it is becoming clearer that many players are competing for the space created by the overthrow of some rulers in the Middle East. Whilst the Ummah braved the brutal crackdown on the streets to end the architecture of client rulers, foreign interference and foreign dependency constructed by the Western colonial powers, the West continues to call the Arab spring as a call for democracy, Western values and more Western involvement. The decades of oppression by the dictatorial rulers has led to some confusion on where Capitalism ends and where Islam begins.

28th Rajab the day when the Ummah lost its shield

The Khilafah had been a great state for centuries. It was a superpower on the world stage. It was a leading state in science, technology, commerce, architecture and jurisprudence. The Khilafah provided peace and security for the Muslims, allowing them to live in harmony together as a single state, regardless of their language or race. The Khilafah even provided sanctuary for those who were persecuted because of their beliefs. Its armies defended Muslims when they were attacked and carried the Deen of Islam to world. For hundreds of years of Islamic rule, before the British occupation, the Indian Subcontinent flourished in a manner unrivalled before or since by any non-Islamic rule.

The Khilafah is not a Police State

The situation that has prevailed in Egypt for past half century, if not more, has seen suffocating security measures, considerable police powers and limited accountability of the country’s enforcement agencies. The 30 year long ‘emergency’ laws that became the norm under Mubarak allowed the already considerable powers to expand, emboldened the police and security to take the law into their own hands and created an environment which eroded the populations’ basic rights to account, speak and practice Islam.

CIA’s 20:20 Vision for the future Caliphate is Short Sighted

In December 2004, The National Intelligence Council of the CIA predicted that in the year 2020 a new Caliphate would emerge on the world stage. The findings were published in a 123-page report titled “Mapping the Global Future”. The aim of the report is to prepare the next Bush administration for challenges that lie ahead by projecting current trends that may pose a threat to US interest. The report is presented to the US president, members of Congress, cabinet members and key officials involved in policymaking.

Healthcare in the Khilafah

Barack Obama signed the controversial US healthcare bill into law today after months of heated debate.

US Healthcare has been under the spotlight in recent years and gained international focus after Michael Moore released his documentary, “Sicko” three years ago. In it, he focused on the failure of the American healthcare system. Particular attention was given to the Insurance Companies and how their purpose was not to help people in need but rather to increase profits. The solution proposed was to have a public healthcare system similar to those in Canada, Britain, France and Cuba.

The Anthem of the Khilafah

Adopting a slogan/anthem that can be acclaimed to distinguish a certain group of people from others, or a certain state from others is one of the permissible matters. The Muslims in the past had a slogan which they used when they met their enemies on the battle field.

REPORT: The Khilafah’s Energy Policy

Energy is of critical importance in the 21st century, without it, today’s transportation, industry and agriculture could not exist. Without the harnessing of energy the industrial revolution may not have taken place. Due to this, energy policies around the world are dominated by energy efficiency, energy dependence and energy security. Increased awareness of the effects of global warming has also led to international debate and action for the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.

The Islamic Khilafah and its illustrious Golden Age

The call for the Islamic Khilafah is growing in momentum the world over as each day passes by. From North Africa to Far East, Europe to Central Asia, Muslims are working tirelessly to restore the Khilafah. This has been recognised even by the western colonial powers and their puppet slaves who illegitimately rule the Muslim world today. In a major speech, delivered on 5th September 2006 to US military officers and US diplomats, George W Bush attempted to mislead the world about what the forthcoming Khilafah will look like in the 21st century. Bush sought to bolster support from the western world for the infamous “war on terror” and his speech was thus unsurprisingly littered with venomous propaganda and lies. Following the footsteps of his Crusader ancestors like Pope Urban II, Bush falsely declared that Muslims who want to regain their political destiny by restoring the Khilafah wish to,

87 Years since the Khilafah was Destroyed

On the 28th of Rajab 1342 AH, corresponding to the 3rd March 1924 CE, the Khilafah was destroyed at the hands of the colonial powers with the assistance of collaborators such as Mustafa Kemal. Allah (swt) has obligated us to rule by His Law and ordered us to shield the Ummah with the Khilafah state. As an Ummah, we must strive for the return of the Khilafah using the Prophet’s (saw) method of engaging the thoughts and emotions of Muslims and obtaining nusra (support) from the people of power in the Muslim lands.

Fatwa of Sheikh ul-Hind Regarding Khilafah (1920)

The following is the Fatwa of Sheikh ul Hind, Maulana Mahmood Hasan who was imprisoned by the British in Malta for 3 years due to him sticking to the truth and not disowning the Uthmani Khilafah. Shaikhul Hind and his student Maulana Hussain Ahmad Madni (later klnown as Shaikhul Islam) were arrested by the Sharif Hussein in Hijaz (Makkah) on 23rd Safar 1335 (19th December 1916). They were sent to Malta via Cairo by a ship on 29th Rabbi al-Thanni 1335 (22nd February 1917) and clamped in the prison by the British for 3 years and 4 months. They were released and reached Bombay on 8th June 1920 (21st Ramadhan 1338). This time of returning from Malta synchronized with the period of the beginning of the Khilafat Movement in India.
