Trump Again Denies White Nationalism is Rising Threat
Donald Trump said he did not view white nationalism as a rising threat around the world, as New Zealand is reeling from a white supremacist attack on two mosques that killed 49 people. Asked by a reporter on Friday if he saw an increase globally in the threat of white nationalism, the US president responded: “I don’t really. I think it’s a small group of people that have very, very serious problems. I guess, if you look at what happened in New Zealand, perhaps that’s a case. I don’t know enough about it yet.” There have been more than a dozen deadly white supremacist attacks across the globe in the last eight years. In Norway in 2011, 77 people were killed in a bomb attack and shooting that targeted a youth camp of the country’s Labor party. The shooter said he wanted to prevent an “invasion of Muslims”. A shooter with anti-Muslim views killed six people during evening prayers at a Quebec City mosque in 2017. The gunman said he feared refugees would kill his family. Later that year, in London’s Finsbury Park, a man shouting “I want to kill all Muslims” drove a van into worshippers outside a mosque, killing one and injuring twelve others. In the US, violence by far-right attackers has surged since Trump took office. There has been a documented rise in anti-Muslim hate groups in the country in the last three years, and the FBI has reported a steady increase in reports of hate crimes. Last year, a shooter with far-right views killed 11 people at a Pittsburgh synagogue. The suspected perpetrator of the massacre during Friday prayers in New Zealand had posted online before the attack and displayed white supremacist symbols on his weapons during the killings.
Like Trump, other Western politicians are complicit in the promotion of far right views and bigotry against Islam. Their routine incendiary remarks against Islam have galvanized popularity for extremist views and strengthened support for white supremacists across several Western countries.

Theresa May’s crushing defeat in the House of Commons this week over her plan for Britain to leave the European Union was actually a great victory for her, provided that you make a simple assumption: that she and her colleagues never wanted Britain to leave the EU in the first place. A majority of the British legislature is, and always was, opposed to Brexit. Those legislators who agitated most vociferously for it declined, when the time came, to carry out the policy, leaving it to a woman already well known for her political maladroitness. Her appearance of negotiating with the EU was merely elaborate shadow-play. She never intended to produce the complete break that just over half the electorate — but not the political class — wanted. The present impasse will probably lead to Britain never leaving the union. Except for a hard core of about a fifth of Parliament, all the other legislators are adamantly opposed to Britain leaving the EU without a deal; and the Union, knowing this, has no reason to negotiate further. But the legislators will not agree to the deal as negotiated, as they have now demonstrated. They want a second referendum, in the hope that the result of the first will be reversed. (And if it is, there will never be a third.) An extension to Britain’s departure will be granted only if Britain has a concrete proposal to offer — and the only such offer it can make is to hold the second referendum. This is, in essence, the European approach to democracy: If the voters get the answer wrong, either ignore the verdict or make them vote again until they get the answer right.Whether the population will take it lying down remains to be seen, but after three years of deliberately created political chaos, it is likely that Britons will simply shrug and get on with their lives. It should have been obvious from the first that the EU would never want an agreement that was anything other than disadvantageous to Britain — for if Britain did not suffer markedly by departure, it would be a disaster for the Union, already not exactly at the height of its own popularity. No doubt, brexit has deeply divided Britain; however, it has also unified the EU which has remained remarkably resilient during the negotiations. If this continues, Britain will become a third rate power on the periphery of the continent thereby undermining its longstanding policy of keeping Europe divided.
Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan Blames Post-9/11 Islamophobia For Mosque Attacks
Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday condemned the New Zealand mosque shootings in the harshest terms and laid the blame for increasing violence at the feet of “Islamophobia post-9/11.” “Shocked and strongly condemn the Christchurch, New Zealand, terrorist attack on mosques. This reaffirms what we have always maintained: that terrorism does not have a religion. Prayers go to the victims and their families.” In a follow-up tweet, Khan continued, “I blame these increasing terror attacks on the current Islamophobia post-9/11 where Islam & 1.3 bn Muslims have collectively been blamed for any act of terror by a Muslim. This has been done deliberately to also demonize legitimate Muslim political struggles.” [Source: Daily Caller]
Khan again has missed the root cause of violent acts committed against Muslims across the world and it is not Islamophobia. The single factor that has contributed to violence and bigotry is the inability of the rulers of the Islamic world to prevent western wars in Muslim lands. Only the Khilafah Rashidah (rightly guided Caliphate) can put an end to Western intervention and stop the killing of Muslims.
