Yemen’s Children are Exposed to a Colonial Bomb with Triple Effect!

The enemies of Allah (swt), the enemies of Islam – bomb daily and ruthlessly the Islamic Ummah in the Muslim Lands. These criminals of humanity use in Yemen a colonial bomb, for over two years, against the innocent children of the Ummah, whose effect is long-term and the result is war, starvation and a cholera epidemic.

In this unscrupulous war in Yemen that started in March 2015, more than 10,000 people have been killed and 46,300 injured in air strikes and fighting (including more than 4,000 children). The entire conflict has forced millions from their homes on a vast scale, with an estimated 3.27 million people displaced. Homes, hospitals and schools have been destroyed and there are 2 million children out of school. Destruction to the country’s infrastructure has meant that 14.5 million people, including nearly 8 million children, do not have access to clean water and sanitation. There are estimates that 20.7 million Yemenis are in need of assistance, up from the previous figure of 18.8 million in a population of 28 million.

Because of all these catastrophes about 3.3 million children and pregnant or breast-feeding women are acutely malnourished, including 462,000 children under five who face severe acute malnutrition.

Moreover since April 2015 more than 425,000 suspected cases of cholera have been reported across Yemen, with 1,900 deaths. Health organizations warn the figure will soar to more than 600,000 by the end of 2017. Children under the age of 15 make up an increasing proportion of both new cases (44%) and fatalities (32%).

Health clinics are drastically understaffed and undersupplied, with children being treated on the floors of clinic reception areas and up to six children sleeping in a single hospital bed. There is also a shortage of doctors and health care workers. Many have fled the country, and an estimated 30,000 local health workers who are working on the epidemic haven’t been paid in nearly 10 months.

This triple effect of the colonial bomb which is war, starvation and cholera is a mix of crises made by Britain and America and their instruments – the Saudi-led Coalition (SLC) and the Houthi rebels. They are all responsible for this humanitarian crime against the innocent children of Yemen. None of these parties is interested in the shedding of blood of the innocent children of the Muslims of Yemen. But for the Islamic Ummah it is not allowed to overlook this bloodbath! The Islamic Ummah must work for the re-establishment of the righteous Islamic leadership, the Khilafah (Caliphate) based upon the method of the Prophethood, which will destroy colonialism in our Muslim lands forever.
