Russia fails to move UN General Assembly over US withdrawal from INF Arms Treaty

According to Reuters:

Russia had proposed a draft resolution in the 193-member General Assembly’s disarmament committee, but missed the Oct. 18 submission deadline. On Friday, it called for a vote on whether the committee should be allowed to consider the draft, but lost with only 31 votes in favor, 55 against and 54 abstentions.

“In a year, if the U.S. withdraws from the treaty and begins an uncontrolled build-up of weapons, nuclear-capable weapons, we will be confronting a completely different reality,” Andrei Belousov, deputy director of Russia’s Department for Nonproliferation and Arms Control, told the committee.

He questioned whether the United States was preparing for a war, asking: “Why is it then … do they want to leave the treaty? Why do they want to build up their nuclear capability?”

Belousov said if the United States follows through on its threat to withdraw, then Russia could raise the issue in the 15-member Security Council. However, such a move would not lead to any action as both countries have veto powers in the council.

The warmongering American superpower thinks nothing of destabilising global security in order to protect its own superiority. By eliminating medium-range nuclear missiles (300km to 3000km) towards the end of the Cold War under the INF Treaty signed by Reagan and Gorbachev, America and the Soviet Union enabled a more secure world. It is easier to monitor short-range threats, and the launching of a missile from long-range provides greater notice; but mid-range missiles that could be widely dispersed and yet reach their destination in as little as 10 minutes presented the greater challenge. The real reason for the US threat to abandon the treaty is not Russian violation of it but so that the US can build pressure on China. Unbound by the INF, China has developed a large number of medium-range missiles in accordance with its geopolitical reality, while America is forced to depend on short- or long-range nuclear missiles because of its INF obligations.

The invention and development of nuclear weapons has been one of the greatest of evil actions that the Western disbeliever has committed, seeking to use science for the destruction of mankind. It will fall to the re-established Islamic Khilafah (Caliphate) State upon the method of the Prophet ﷺ to first confront the Western capability by matching its nuclear arsenal but then work to contain, reduce and eliminate the use of weapons of mass destruction and return science and scientists to working for the benefit of all mankind.

Return of pro-Chinese Rajapaksa another step in India’s Courting of China

According to an AP report in the Washington Post:

Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena sacked the country’s prime minister and his Cabinet on Friday and replaced him with a former strongman.

But the prime minister, Ranil Wickremesinghe, told reporters that he had no intention of leaving his post, creating what some observers said could be a constitutional crisis in the South Asian island nation.

“I have the majority. I will function as the prime minister. I will remain as the prime minister,” he said.

Sirisena informed Wickremesinghe that he was being replaced by his former nemesis, Mahinda Rajapaksa, according to aide Mahinda Amaraweera.

It appears that America has been pushing Modi to follow a new approach towards China, drawing it into South Asia in order to divert it from the Pacific. According to a July article in the Nikkei:

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s diplomatic strategy has been clear from the outset of his term: deepen ties with the U.S. and Japan while openly showing suspicion of China.

The game plan has changed.

Military watchers were surprised earlier this month when the Chinese People’s Liberation Army sent a 10-member, high-level delegation to New Delhi. The officials went for talks “to promote strategic trust and mutually beneficial cooperation between the two militaries,” according to Luo Zhaohui, China’s ambassador to India…

The world began to grasp the significance of the shift on June 1, when the Asia Security Summit rolled around. “Asia and the world will have a better future when India and China work together in trust and confidence, sensitive to each other’s interests,” Modi said in a keynote speech at the meeting in Singapore, also known as the Shangri-La Dialogue.

By drawing China into southern Asia, America is providing a safer outlet for Chinese expansionism than the South China Sea, which challenges American domination of the Pacific Ocean. Furthermore, the region of southern Asia has historically been dominated by the British, so Chinese expansionism here serves the American purpose of further displacing British power.

The disbelievers will not decease from competing and struggling against one another, irrespective of whether they share the same ideological stance or have different viewpoints. It is for this reason that a re-established Khilafah State that unifies Muslim lands will be secure from coordinated international opposition as long as its leadership maintain deep political awareness of the international situation.

While West focusses on Khashoggi, the Saudi Regime’s True Crime is in Yemen

A dispute is emerging in Western public opinion over arms sales to Saudi Arabia, in the aftermath of the Khashoggi issue. According to Reuters:

German Chancellor Angela Merkel vowed again on Friday to halt all German arms exports to Saudi Arabia until the killing of journalist Jamal Khashoggi was explained.

“It is necessary to clarify the background of this horrible incident,” she said in Prague during a news conference with Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babis. “And if that does not happen, we will not deliver any arms to Saudia Arabia.”

The German stance is bringing other Western countries under pressure, including America, Britain, Canada and France, who are resisting calls to cease tens and hundreds of billions of dollars of arms. However, the true tragedy is not that of Khashoggi but of the Yemen war, which is proving to be one of the most brutal that the world has seen. According to the Middle East Eye:

The UN estimates that around 22 million people, three-quarters of Yemen’s population, are reliant on humanitarian aid.

Jan Egeland, head of the Norwegian Refugee Council and UN advisor, warned earlier this month that famine was imminent.

“Civilians in Yemen are not starving, they are being starved. Let it be known that the worst famine on our watch is wholly manmade by Yemen’s conflict parties and their international sponsors,” he said.

“The way the war is waged has systemically choked civilians by making less food available and affordable to millions of people.”

“Parties to this conflict already have blood on their hands and now risk bearing responsibility for a famine affecting millions,” he added.

The Western view of history portrays the modern world as more civilised than what came before. But in reality, the world was far more civilised in the millennium that the Islamic State led the world as its sole superpower: armies fought armies under high standards of ethics and chivalry. The West abandoned all that in its obsession with material power, waging total war on the entire of society. Peace and justice will not return to the world until the re-establishment of the Islamic Khilafah (Caliphate) State on the method of the Prophet ﷺ that will unify Muslim lands, secure them from the hostile disbelieving foreigner and lead all of mankind to rediscover its humanity.
