According to the news published in Al-Jazeera on 20th June, 2017, at least 126 refugees, mainly from Sudan, are feared to have drowned in the Mediterranean Sea after the motor of their boat was stolen, causing it to sink. One of the four survivors who brought to Italy said, they started journey from Libya on last Thursday to make the dangerous crossing to Europe. After a few hours at sea a group of Libyan traffickers intercepted their boat and stole the motor and the boat started to sink. Later on a group of Libyan fisherman rescued the four survivors. As of June, 1828 refugees were believed to have died while trying to reach Europe in 2017. Most of the people attempting the perilous journey originally come from Nigeria followed by Bangladesh and other sub-Saharan countries.

Drowning of desperate refugees is nothing new to this world. Rather, it is a frequent and accepted incident that now-a-days these heart breaking incidents do not even attract media attention. The sad truth is, most of these refugees, who have decided to cross perilous seas in a rickety boat to reach Europe, are from Muslim lands.
It is well known that the refugee crisis has been aggravated after the US and its allies invaded Muslim lands one after another; and western powers including their allies in the Muslim world have decided to support the killer Assad regime after the Syrian revolution. Their devastating decision plunged these countries into complete chaos. Literally, these greedy imperialist powers have robbed the livelihood of millions of people in Iraq, Syria, Libya, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Yemen including a number of sub-Saharan countries and also forced them to flee their own lands. In reality, most of the refugees do not want to go to Europe and to leave their country of origin. Because, they know what is waiting ahead for them is nothing but horrendous physical and mental torture, rape, insecurity, starvation, imprisonment and to some extent terrible death. According to the latest report of International Organization for Migration (IMO), the refugee situation became graver because it is found that human traffickers are now forcing refugees and migrants into modern day slavery. IMO staff found hundreds of young African men are being traded in public in what they described as slave markets.
We are living in a time, when the lives of this noble Ummah are full of humiliation and disgrace. The Muslim lands which were once the symbol of prosperity, affluence and justice, are now poverty stricken, full of chaos and devastated by inhuman and preplanned wars. The Ummah which once had welcomed and provided shelter to the weak, oppressed and vulnerable of the world irrespective of their ethnicity, race and religion, are now fleeing their own lands to escape desperate poverty and horrors of war. The noble Ummah who used to rule the world are now at the mercy of the Kuffar imperialists and colonialists.
The truth is, throughout the history of Islam, this Ummah had never gone through such desperate situation and faced such disgrace and humiliation and this is only because the Ummah had lost her shield (the Khaleefah). Rasulullah ﷺ said,
«إِنَّمَا الإِمَامُ جُنَّةٌ يُقَاتَلُ مِنْ وَرَائِهِ وَيُتَّقَى بِهِ»
“Verily, the Imam is a shield behind whom you fight and you protect yourself with.” (Muslim)
Abu Yala, a leading Hanbali scholar quotes from Imam Ahmad Ibn Hanbal that, the Muslims would be in a state of fitnah if there were no Khaleefah. Today we are witnessing how accurate his quote was! In the absence of the Khaleefah the fitnah is now widespread in the land and in the sea. In the absence of the Khaleefah, a Muslim’s blood, life and honor became the cheapest thing in the world. In the absence of the Khaleefah, thousands of innocent Muslims have drowned in the sea, died a death of endless humiliation and torture. All of these incidents have happened and are happening in front of the eyes of the current shameless Muslim regimes that did not come forward to rescue them. May the Wrath of Allah fall on these impotent and treacherous rulers who have played the role of endless treachery with this Ummah and turned a blind eye towards them in their desperate need.
However, this noble Ummah will rise again with all her glory, power and dignity when the second Khilafah Rashidah (righteous Caliphate) will be re-established soon by the Will of Allah. This Ummah will again fight behind her shield to protect her honor will take protection behind him. The second Khilafah Rashidah will uproot the root cause of the widespread refugee crisis by establishing a system of justice and prosperity and will destroy the shackles of tyranny and endless torture by eradicating the capitalist system from the entire Muslim world.
