The Aqeedah of the Muslims in Lebanon is a Firmly Established Aqeedah

Irrespective of how much the Secularist Leaders Attempt to Divert them from it

Ever since the Ministerial Council under the leadership of Saad Al-Hariri acknowledged the 25th March as a joint Eid between the Muslims and the Christians under the heading: “The Eid of Glad Tidings” (Annunciation Day), the problems associated with this day are renewed every year, based upon connecting it, in a despicable manner, to a text of the Qur’an.

Indeed, Hizb ut Tahrir made clear the Shar’i position towards this innovation in a press conference and by issuing a booklet in conjunction with the announcement of this Eid at that time. It refuted the attempts to mix Islam with other religions which then provoked the then Prime Minister to describe this Eid as being patriotic instead of religious. However, every year the attempts are renewed by the Lebanese authority and its support base to divert the Muslims from their Aqeedah through sponsoring certain actions and events. This is like the holding of joint prayers and seminars that talk about what has been called the ‘Islamic-Christian Convergence’.

However, a matter that is new this year, which confirms the flagrant lie of a claim that this Eid represents a patriotic or national Eid for all of the people of Lebanon as a whole, is that the highest authority of the Catholic Church (the papacy in Rome) decided to delay the date for this Eid until the 4th of April. The Maronite Church in Lebanon then joined them in this and following that and built upon the decision of the Church, the Lebanese authority issued a decree moving the Eid to this new date. As such, the Lebanese Government’s following of this decision by the Church reaffirms that this ‘Eid’ is a purely Church Eid and that it has absolutely no connection to the Muslims, whether it is in terms with the occasion or the date.

O Muslims in Lebanon!

Verily, Allah سبحانه وتعالى has legislated for you two Eids and there is no third one, and it is not permissible, at all, to attribute an Eid to Islam or the Muslims which the Shariah evidences have not stated. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:

«فَإِنَّ خَيْرَ الْحَدِيثِ كِتَابُ اللهِ، وَخَيْرُ الْهُدَى هُدَى مُحَمَّدٍ، وَشَرُّ الْأُمُورِ مُحْدَثَاتُهَا، وَكُلُّ بِدْعَةٍ ضَلَالَةٌ»

“For verily the best speech is the Book of Allah and the best guidance is the guidance of Muhammad, and the worst of matters is its newly invented matters, and every innovation is a misguidance” (Muslim).

And to the authority and its support base we say:

You have perpetrated a major sin and great misguidance when you adopted the ideology of the separation of the Deen from politics. However, on top of this sin you have contradicted yourselves and your secularism when you gave yourselves the authority to meddle with the Deen of the Muslims by attributing this ‘Eid’ to the Deen of Islam. As we are certain that your efforts aimed at changing the essence of the Islamic Aqeedah will end in failure, we warn you about continuing upon this direction that will bring the anger of Allah ‘Azza Wa Jalla upon you.

“And do not say about what your tongues assert of untruth, “This is lawful and this is unlawful,” to invent falsehood against Allah. Verily, those who invent falsehood against Allah will not succeed”
