After the IEBC declaring the Deputy President Dr. William Ruto as the President elect, a US delegate led by the Senator Chris Coons visited the country soon after. Senator Chris Coons was instrumental to the handshake of 2018 between the President Uhuru Kenyatta and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
