Sydney demonstration against American War in Pakistan
Sydney, Australia, 22nd May 2009 – Over 2 million civilians have been made refugees, on top of the thousands that have been killed or injured, as a result of the Pakistani Government’s recent assault on the north-western regions of Buner and Swat. The subsequent chaos created inside Pakistan has not stopped the Zardari regime from persisting in facilitating the American agenda in the region. President Zardari and Prime Minister Gilani are happy to use the sincere Muslim sons of the Pakistan army to fight other Muslims, in what is the height of treachery.
Hizb ut-Tahrir Pakistan has organised a nationwide campaign in Pakistan in condemnation of the Pakistani Government and to stop this war. Hizb ut-Tahrir Australia has also organised a demonstration to be held in Sydney as a platform for Muslims to echo their condemnation of the continued betrayal of the rulers of Pakistan as well as their demand for all American influence, which is the root cause of all the chaos, to be uprooted from the region.
The demonstration will take place on Sunday the 24th of May at 12pm outside the Pakistani consulate in Martin Place.
Uthman Badar, media representative of Hizb ut-Tahrir Australia, says in this regard, “As expected the American War machine, trudging ahead under the new Commander-in-chief as it did under the old, is moving its theatre of war in Afghanistan slowly but surely towards Pakistan. As the Islamic revival gains stem all over the World, the American administration feels that it cannot but strengthen its foothold in one of the strongest nations in the Muslim World.”
“It is disappointing that instead of allowing the brave sons of the Pakistan Army to fight the real enemies- India in Kashmir and America on the Afghan border – the Zardari regime is using them to spill Muslim blood, and thereby not only creating disorder inside Pakistan but also securing the faltering American invasion of Afghanistan. However we have come to expect this sort of treachery from rulers who have always been puppets to foreign powers.”
“We call upon all Muslims to join us in this demonstration in standing shoulder-to-shoulder with Muslims around the world to speak out against the oppression and injustice being perpetuated by American and her puppet regime in Islamabad. It is upon us to change with our tongue, in line with the Prophetic command, what we cannot at this point in time change with our hands.”
