2021 will likely always be remembered for the year the global superpower was humbled in the graveyard of empires. After two decades of war the US reached the same position the British Empire and the Soviet Union before them: bleeding to death the longer they remained in Afghanistan. Whilst America’s decline has been the subject of discussion and debate for long, the Afghanistan debacle has only added to the decline of US credibility.
