As reported widely, on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at around 21:00 pm, there was a bomb blast in Kampung Melayu area, Jakarta. The explosion caused the death of a number of people, including the perpetrators, while some others injured.

In this regard, Hizb ut Tahrir Indonesia:

1- Condemns the perpetrators of the bombing as an extraordinary act of atrocities. The Islamic Sharia strictly prohibits anyone with any motive to kill another person without haq (right) or without reasons justified by Sharia, let alone commiting suicide, destroying private property and public facilities, wounding people and causing widespread fear.

2- Calls on all parties, in particular the police and the mass media, to be cautious to response to speculations linking the bombing with Islamic groups, movements or organizations. Of all the possibilities, it could be that the bombing was deliberately carried out by certain people or groups to disrupt the people and the country for their own political gains while discrediting Islamic organizations and systematically engineering and creating wicked provocations to continue giving a ruthless image to Indonesia as a hotbed of terrorism.

3- Asks the police to immediately arrest the mastermind of the blast and uncover the motives for that action. Only in this way, all kinds of speculations that can cause unrest in the society can be stopped.
