Special Eid Ul Fitr Message

Verily the month of Blessing has just ended and Allah (swt) has bestowed this day of Eid ul-Fitr specific for the Ummah of Muhammad ﷺ. On this occasion, we in Hizb ut Tahrir / Tanzania congratulate the Muslims in Tanzania especially and the world in general, and ask Allah (swt) to accept our fasting, our Qiyaam and Duas. Verily He is The All-Hearer and The Responding One to our Dua.

Oh Muslims:

Throughout the month of Ramadhan we have seen you well committed to the criteria of halal and haram in your actions, keen on fasting, qiyaam, charity and chastity, and we have also seen you in a state of sincere enthusiasm for Islam… All these are good, however the commitment to abiding to Allah’s commands and abstinence from His prohibitions is not limited to the month of Ramadhan. Rather it is an obligation in the whole year and not limited in the acts of ritual worship (Ibadaat), but includes all aspects of life; prayer is like trading, fasting is like Ba’aya, and morals is like Hudood (Punishments). All of these are Ahkaam Shar’iyaah that are obligatory to be followed, since all are from Allah Almighty, and commitment to them is the true realization of the concept of subservience to and sincere worship of Allah Subhaanahu wa Ta’ala. He said: يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا ادْخُلُوا فِي السِّلْمِ كَافَّةً “O ye who believe! Enter into Islam wholly.” [Al-Baqarah: 208] Also the Almighty said: وَاعْبُدْ رَبَّكَ حَتَّى يَأْتِيَكَ الْيَقِينُ “And serve your Lord until the certainty (death) comes to you.” [Al-Hijr: 99]

Therefore, Islam must be taken wholly and comprehensively, and it must rule and control us in all our lives until our death. So what with you Muslims, committed with Islamic sharia in certain things and disregard them in others, or acting upon them at certain times and leaving them at other times?!

Oh Muslims:

Know on this day of Eid ul-Fitr that your Lord Almighty has made halal for you the best of sustenance. Eat and drink in this day and do not go beyond the limits (israaf). Allah does not love the extravagant, and extend good companionship to your family, bring pleasure/joy into the hearts of the poor, widows and orphans, visit your relatives, be compassionate to the sick and the imprisoned, and do good so that you may be successful. Also know that Eid is not for those who wear new clothes, rather is for those who fear the Day of Promise. Therefore, do not allow your wives and your daughters to expose themselves publicly in indecent clothing under the pretext of happiness and celebrating Eid, as doing so is to dishonour the sanctities of Allah Subhaanahu wa Ta’ala. ذَلِكَ وَمَنْ يُعَظِّمْ حُرُمَاتِ اللَّهِ فَهُوَ خَيْرٌ لَهُ عِنْدَ رَبِّهِ “That and whoever honours the sanctities of Allah, then that is better for him with his Lord.” [Al-Hajj: 30]

Oh Muslims:

Verily the ninety eighth month of Ramadan has passed without a Khalifah who rules you by the Shariah of Allah Subhaanahu wa Ta’ala, that unites your lands and carries Islam as a message to the world.

The 98th Ramadan has ended without a Khalifah taking care of your affairs, and protecting your blood, your wealth, your homes and your honour. So today, you are a victim attacked in different places, your blood is shed, your wealth is looted and your honour is violated… And vivid evidence of such injustice is inflicted upon the Chinese Muslims in East Turkistan, as well as the terrible situation in Yemen, Palestine, Central Africa, Myanmar, Kashmir, Afghanistan, Somalia, Mali, Libya, Al-Sham and elsewhere… Does this not make you all contemplate the meaning of the Hadeeth of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)? «إِنَّمَا الْإِمَامُ جُنَّةٌ يُقَاتَلُ مِنْ وَرَائِهِ وَيُتَّقَى بِهِ» “Indeed the Imam is a shield behind whom we fight and get protected from.” (Muslim)

Lastly, we Hizb ut Tahrir/ Tanzania wish you the blessing of this glorious Eid. We call upon all people not to tolerate the imperialism of the capitalist system, and also to understand and publicise the justice of the laws of Islam and their permanent solution to the problems of humanity. In addition, we specifically address and exhort the Muslims in the major Islamic countries to perform their noble duty to carry the Islamic da’wah so as to resume the Islamic way of life by establishing the Khilafah (Caliphate) upon the methodology of the Prophethood to liberate all humanity from oppression and darkness. On that day will the believers truly rejoice.
