Shun Violence Embrace Islam

According to media and various commissions’ reports pursuing election matters in Kenya reveal that currently Kenyans are worried and nervous about the possibility of emergence of chaos. This is as a result of utterances, wrangles and threats from all political camps and national institutions on how the August 2017 elections will be administered. Every side is doing thorough campaigns urging their supporters to be vigilant and ready to protect their interests at all costs.

Comment:

It is saddening to see that after every five years Kenyans go for general elections while given fake promises by deceitful politicians who lack morals. Their main objective is to use them as stepping stones to ascend to power, eventually looting public wealth, leaving ordinary citizens languishing in poverty, diseases and poor infrastructure etc.

As the political campaigns reach climax, it is imperative to contemplate on the following issues:

First: This election and preceding ones will never bear any fruits to Kenyans due to the fact that in origin, elections in a democratic system are meant to confer man powers to legislate laws contrary to those prescribed by the Creator of man.

Second: Participation or non-participation in these elections has no correlation whatsoever with your success or failure in this life because in origin success is but living in accordance with the laws of your Creator expecting His paradise in return.

Third: Refusing to be used by politicians to perpetrate violence and harassing your colleagues on the basis of party affiliations, ethnicity etc. For instance, if we look at the 1997 and 2007 elections they led to forceful evictions of people from their homes and mass killings of certain ethnic groups in certain areas, in the end politicians were the benefitting lot.

Fourth: Election is not the end of life neither should we allow it to create worry and anxiety among ourselves as it’s witnessed currently where people have started leaving their homes, investors running away, businessmen relocating their merchandises etc.

Oh Muslims!

Your success lies in sticking to the path of Allah (swt) and His Messenger ﷺ; the straight path which is abiding by the commands including calling for the resumption of the Islamic way of life via the reestablishment of the Islamic Khilafah state (Caliphate) on the way of Prophethood, and refraining from prohibitions including desisting from participating in democratic elections whose essence is to disbelieve in Allah (swt) by going against His rules.

إِنِ الْحُكْمُ إِلَّا لِلَّهِ

“There no rule except for Allah”

(Yusuf:40)

Islam forbade spilling of innocent Muslim blood, taking his property and violating his honour. It also forbade Muslims from ascribing to ‘Asabiyyah;

From Jubeir bin Mut’im that the Messenger of Allah said: He is not among us he who calls for ‘Asabiyyah, he is not among us he who fights for ‘Asabiyyah, and he is not among us he who dies because of ‘Asabiyyah (‘Asabiyyah – Tribalism, Patriotism, Nationalism, Partisanship, Racism etc.)
