At 32 years old, Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman is already the most dominant Arab leader in a generation. This week, he embarks on a cross-country American tour, where he’ll pitch his kingdom to a skeptical U.S. public.
Norah O’Donnell: You have said you are, “Taking Saudi Arabia back to what we were, a moderate Islam.” What does that mean?
Mohammed bin Salman: We have extremists who forbid mixing between the two sexes and are unable to differentiate between a man and a woman alone together and their being together in a workplace. Many of those ideas contradict the way of life during the time of the prophet and the Caliphs. This is the real example and the true model.
He has curbed the powers of the country’s so-called “religious police,” who until recently were able to arrest women for not covering up. And listen carefully to what he says is not part of Islamic Law.
Mohammed bin Salman: The laws are very clear and stipulated in the laws of Sharia: that women wear decent, respectful clothing, like men. This, however, does not particularly specify a black abaya or a black head cover. The decision is entirely left for women to decide what type of decent and respectful attire she chooses to wear.

The Ummah has seen this stale act one to many times; a Saudi Arabian heir to the throne from the corrupt Saudi ruling family sets off on tour to America to appease, please and smile in front of a public relations circus promising to fix its perceived ultra conservative and authoritarian image problem with pledges instead to uphold secular liberal values and transactions in the name of “moderate Islam”. The drive to secularise the Saudi society at all levels is an American imperialist project with Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salam (MBS) at the wheel, who is prepared to steer the men, women and children of Saudi Arabia straight into chaos and corruption. Starting with the honour and dignity of Muslim men and women and the corrupt agenda to remove women’s khimar and jilbab in accordance with America’s secular liberal values. This attack on gender interactions and the Muslim women’s dress follows a similar comment made by a Saudi Sheikh named Abdullah Al-Mutlaq, a member of the Council of Senior Scholars on his Friday radio show aired on Neda Al-Islam radio station, February 9/18. He said in response to a question asked by a woman about the ruling of wearing the abaya, “More than 90 percent of pious Muslim women in the Muslim world do not wear abayas,”. “So we should not force people to wear abayas.”
This corrupt agenda goes against clearly stipulated evidences in the Holy Quran that are deemed “extremist” by Crown Prince Mohammad and his supporting corrupt scholars like Abdullah Al-Mutlaq. Therefore, the so-called reformation of Islam pushed by MBS is nothing but the abandonment of Islamic Shariah that is in complete opposition and contradiction to the ideas that our Holy Prophet Muhammad ﷺ conveyed and was further upheld by the Khulafah that came after him ﷺ.
In the chapter of al-Ahzab (The Confederates) the following verse instructs Prophet Muhammad:
يَا أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ قُل لِّأَزْوَاجِكَ وَبَنَاتِكَ وَنِسَاء الْمُؤْمِنِينَ يُدْنِينَ عَلَيْهِنَّ مِن جَلَابِيبِهِنَّ ذَلِكَ أَدْنَى أَن يُعْرَفْنَ فَلَا يُؤْذَيْنَ وَكَانَ اللَّهُ غَفُورًا رَّحِيمًا
“O Prophet! Say to your wives and your daughters and the women of the faithful to draw their jalabib (pl. of jilbab) close around them; that is better that they will be recognized and not annoyed. And God is ever Forgiving, Gentle.” (33:59)
Narrated Umm Atiyya: We were ordered to bring out our menstruating women and screened women to the religious gatherings and invocation of the Muslims on the two Eid festivals. These menstruating women were to keep away from the musalla. A woman asked, “O Messenger of Allah! What about one who does not have a jilbab?”. He said,
«لتلبسها صاحبتها من جلبابها»
“Let her borrow the jilbab of her companion”. (Sahih Bukhari Book 8/347)
A report narrated Umm Salama,(A wife of the Prophet): When the verse, “That they should draw their jalabib close around them” was revealed, the women of Ansar (inhabitants of Madinah) came out as if they had crows over their heads by wearing jalabib. (Sunan Abu Dawud 32/4090)
A report narrated by Aisha (Another wife of the Prophet): The wife of Rifa’a al-Qurazi came to Allah’s Messenger while I was sitting…and she was showing the fringe of her jilbab. (Sahih Bukhari Book 72/684)
Therefore, Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman is nothing but a liberator of Saudi Muslim women but rather an American mindless puppet who is obediently and dangerously corrupting and transgressing the society to not only act against their Islamic values and duties but with the intent to avoid the restless and disgruntled youth from uprising against their corrupt rulers and corrupt political systems such that the world witnessed via the so-called Arab Spring in Tunisia, Egypt and Syria.
