Russian Security Services try to Scare Muslims

They Submit an Account of their “Success” in the War Against Hizb ut Tahrir

Media published on 29 September, news of the arrest of eight Muslims in Tatarstan, and a lawsuit was filed against him, according to Article 205.5 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation which states on the participation in a terrorist organization. According to the security services, the detainees are members of Hizb ut Tahrir, but according to what was published through the media, we can confirm that most of the detainees have nothing to do with Hizb ut Tahrir. We believe that the arrest came at the behest of the security agencies in facilitating fabricating lawsuits. Scaring Muslims and getting the admission of exercising terrorist activities from those who are not related to the Hizb is easier than getting it from those who are members of Hizb ut Tahrir. This gives security services the opportunity to provide a statement of their success in the war against our Hizb, in addition to that these arrests are meant apparently to scare Muslims, so that they stay away from any contact with their brethren in Hizb ut Tahrir.

As usual, the security services work to justify their actions through the media. On the day of the arrest they published through an Islamist website an interview with a former member of Hizb ut Tahrir, who was trying to hit confidence in the Islamic Party, and did not come with single legitimate evidence for changing his relationship with Hizb ut Tahrir. Instead he hinted and voiced what is published by the security services. And if we are to summarize the interview, we will say that it calls for leaving Hizb ranks in order to avoid legal problems, and to spare the families and relatives the suffering! In the interview, he did not mention a single word in describing the Hizb of being terrorist or the fraud lawsuits against its members. It is true that the policy of oppression and hostility to Islam which is followed by Russia leads to the suffering of the people, wives, children and relatives of members of Hizb ut Tahrir. Nonetheless, Russia imprisons Muslims with false charges of (terrorism), and this indicates that it is a criminal, but does not mean in any way to leave the ranks of the Hizb.

We would like to remind that Hizb ut Tahrir is a global Islamic political party, calling for the resumption of the Islamic way of life by establishing a Khilafah (Caliphate) Rashida State on the method of Prophethood. Thus, the Hizb’s activity in countries such as Russia is limited to culturing Muslims and preserving the Islamic values, and it does not undertake a political struggle in it. As well as, in the Islamic country where it seeks governance, it does not use physical force, committed to the way of the Prophet (saw). Therefore, the prosecution of Muslims because of their involvement in the activities of Hizb ut Tahrir, according to the Russian law to fight ‘terrorism’ is tyranny by the security services and a mimicry of the war on ‘terrorism’.
