Refugees don’t need the false promises of the world leaders!

According to the news published by UN News Centre, at the UN summit held on 19 September 2016, world leaders adopt bold plan to enhance protections for refugees and migrants. UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon congratulated Member States saying: “Today’s Summit represents a breakthrough in our collective efforts to address the challenges of human mobility.” He said the adoption of the New York Declaration will mean that “more children can attend school; more workers can securely seek jobs abroad, instead of being at the mercy of criminal smugglers, and more people will have real choices about whether to move once we end conflict, sustain peace and increase opportunities at home.” As called for in the Declaration, the Secretary-General also launched a new campaign called ‘Together – Respect, Safety and Dignity for All’ to “respond to rising xenophobia and turn fear into hope.” He urged “world leaders to join this campaign and commit together to upholding the rights and dignity of everyone forced by circumstance to flee their homes in search of a better life.”

Comments:

At the UN Summit on ‘Migrant and Refugee Crisis’ the world has again heard the empty promises of the world leaders to give false hope to the millions of migrants who have fled their countries to escape desperate situations.  We have seen the Bangkok Summit held last year in the face of Rohingya migrant crisis, where Southeast Asian leaders vowed to help those helpless migrants has brought nothing for the persecuted Rohingya community. In these so called summits world leaders vaguely discuss about the “human rights” of the migrants and increasing financial aid. They talk about effective and fast immigration processes. But, surprisingly, none of the leaders ever talk about what is responsible for making the shocking number of refugees in the first place.

It is an open secret that the leaders of the western world, who are shedding crocodile tears for these migrants, are directly responsible for this unprecedented humanitarian crisis. History witnessed that the West’s unjustified war against the Muslim world, repressive economic policies imposed by IMF, WB etc. upon the underdeveloped world and the overt and covert operations by the western governments in the third world are the root causes of this huge refugee crisis. The creation of illegal Jewish entity by the US has turned tens of thousands of Palestinians into refugees within one night in their own homeland. The preplanned invasion of Afghanistan and Iraq by the US and its allies made millions of Afghan and Iraqi people into refugees, who had either fled to neighboring countries or are living as internally displaced people in a dire state. Moreover, the deadly Syrian war has forced 4.5 million Syrians to flee their country and millions forced to be internally displaced or trapped into the nightmare of horrific war. Also, Syrian war seems to be long lasting because it is not only carried out by the Russian backed Assad regime rather different international and regional powers have been shamelessly backing different fighting groups including ISIS only to reap their own national benefits. The truth is, these heartless western leaders did not show any kind of concern for these refugees until a small percentage of them have showed up to their own shore and wide spread criticism began worldwide after thousands of these refugees drowned in the Mediterranean Sea. Besides that, international financial institutions, like WB, IMF etc also played a crucial role to increase this crisis. According to the report of the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists from 2010 – 2015 the WB alone displaced a staggering 3.4 million of people around the world by funding privatization, land grabs and dams and by backing companies and governments accused of rape, murder and torture. In addition to that, the covert operations of western governments in African continent have created never ending ruthless conflicts in this region, which also uprooted millions of people from their homelands.

Therefore, without addressing these major causes, solving this crisis is nearly impossible. Unfortunately, the rulers of the Muslim world who are nothing but the stooges of the West will never come forward to eliminate these causes although majority of these helpless refugees are Muslim. Rather, to keep their throne intact, they will participate in these meaningless summits and congratulate those criminals who are primarily responsible for the crisis. The truth is that western nations and their corrupt capitalist ideology can never solve this problem, because this very ideology and nations were responsible for the large scale refugee crisis in 20th century. According to one statistic, the number of refugee was 40.5 million only in Europe after the WW2. Hence, to solve the current problem we need to abandon this ideology which failed to guarantee fundamental rights to the billions of people of this world; and re-establish Islamic ideology under the banner of second Khilafah Rashidah (Caliphate) which will free this world from unjust wars, economic repression, and brutal violence and uproot every root cause which is responsible for the refugee crisis.

Allah سبحانه وتعالى says in the Quran,

“Alif. Lam. Ra. (This is) a Scripture which We have revealed unto you (Muhammad) that you may bring forth mankind from darkness into light, by the permission of their Lord, unto the path of the Mighty, the Owner of Praise.”

(Surah Ibrahim: 1)
