فَلَا تَهِنُوا وَتَدْعُوا إِلَى السَّلْمِ وَأَنتُمُ الْأَعْلَوْنَ وَاللَّهُ مَعَكُمْ وَلَن يَتِرَكُمْ أَعْمَالَكُمْ
“So do not weaken and call for peace while you are superior; and Allah is with you and will never deprive you of [the reward of] your deeds.”
(Muhammed: 35)
Ramadan is the month that conveys us the glad tidings of victories. And these glad tidings came to life many times throughout the history of Islam. The Victory of Badr, the Conquest of Mecca, the Liberation of Palestine through Salahaddin al-Ayyubi, the expulsion of the Crusaders from the Land of al-Sham, wiping off the Mongols in the Battle of Ain Jalut are some examples of victories Muslims and their leaders realized through holding on the message of the Qur’an.
Today however; Muslims in Palestine, Syria, Yemen, Afghanistan, Myanmar, China, Chechnya, Kyrgyzstan, Crimea, Ukraine and almost the entire African and Indian continent, and the entire Muslim world face oppression and slaughter, their fasting is criminalized, their Islamic dresses and dignity are under attack, their children under pressure. So who is going to save the Muslims in this Ramadan?
The leaders upon the Muslim lands appeal to NATO, the USA, and UN and plea for their cooperation. They make new agreements with the Jewish entity, Russia, China and America under pretext of serving the Ummah’s interests. This is absolutely unacceptable! Hence these agreements made them to mere spectators of the destruction in the Muslim lands through invasions and wars. And it is these agreements which makes countries like Turkey, Malaysia and Bangladesh to return Muslims who sought refuge at them back to their cruel oppressors. It is these agreements, and the abandoning Jihad in order to defeat the kuffar, that millions of Muslims are doomed to migrate for years, or to imprisonment in refugee camps, or to drown in the sees. And they make these agreements claiming they were weak, and the kuffar like America, Russia and China, and their agent institutions are strong, and that kuffar capitalist countries would outnumber them. Worse is, that they are trying convince the Muslims of these fictions.
However in this verse Allah (swt) says “Do not weaken”. Meaning, O Believers, do not show weakness by abstaining or refusing Jihad against them. Although the Muslim lands possess all needed conditions for victory through Jihad, they are divided into small pieces of countries and ruled by agent rulers. It is this situation that hampers the obligatory Jihad against the Kuffar and causes the sense of helplessness towards the Kuffar within the Muslims. This is the reason why Muslims are unable to respond to the oppressions in the true sense, despite yearning for it. Performing true Jihad which will liberate the Ummah from the clutches of the enemies, is only possible through re-uniting the Muslims under one roof.
“Do not call for peace while you are superior”: The Ummah’s system of belief and view of life, its goals and purposes are all superior to that of the Kuffar. This Ummah is also superior in terms of emotions, ethics and motion. Because it received these from Allah, the Supreme and Exalted… And it is Allah the Almighty, to whom is our Iman, who personally reminds us in His Qur’an al Kareem, that we are superior. So why should we not have Iman in our superiority, after having Iman in Allah and the Qur’an?
Moreover; in addition to this blessing, our Lord, the Almighty and Jabbar, says, “Allah is with you”. Meaning, that His help and assistance is with you! He is the One who defends and protects you. So what is the value of these enemies, as long you have Allah on your side?! Certainly, He will support you against them. “He will never deprive you of [the reward of] your deeds”: He will not be unjust towards you by neither reducing the success, the outcome or the rewards of your deeds.
