According to the report issued on the 2nd May 2013 by the United Nations Food Security Nutrition and Analysis Unit (FSNAU) and US-funded Famine Early Warning Systems Network (FEWSNET), the recent droughts in Somalia (2010-2012) claimed the lives of nearly 260,000 people, the majority children under the age of five. Chris Hillbruner, a senior food security adviser at FEWSNET compared the number of fatalities in Somalia from children who died in this famine to the number of children’s deaths who died in a combined total of industrial countries. He found that 133,000 children died in a population of only 6.5 million, compared with 65,000 deaths below the age of 5 that occurred in the combined total of industrial countries in the world during the same period, exceeding a population of 990 million. The issue is not limited to high mortality rates but this famine forced women and children to flee to environments filled with widespread disease, forcing women and their children to live in overcrowded refugee camps unable to protect themselves or children rather they are an easy prey to the monsters that loom around these camps.
We are not surprised by the failure and weakness of the world, with America and Europe at the reigns, from aiding Muslims in Somalia. In fact the agencies produced more than 70 early warning bulletins. Despite this they did not act early enough to avoid this catastrophe until the month of July 2011 and by that time, more than 120,000 people had died. We say we are not surprised by the enemy that slaughters Muslims everywhere at every opportunity to do so. The West does not give anything without benefit and things in return. Therefore we are not surprised by the failure and weakness of the traitor rulers of the Muslims from helping and rescuing the people of Somalia! But what surprises us is the Muslims’ silence concerning this disaster and what is happening to their families in Somalia! How can we be not surprised by this when Allah سبحانه وتعالى says:
إِنَّمَا ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنُونَ إِخۡوَةٌ
“The believers are only brothers”
(Al-Hujurat, 49:10)
and the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said,
«مَنْ نَفَّسَ عَنْ مُسْلِمٍ كُرْبَةً مِنْ كُرَبِ الدُّنْيَا نَفَّسَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ كُرْبَةً مِنْ كُرَبِ يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ، وَمَنْ يَسَّرَ عَلَى مُعْسِرٍ يَسَّرَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ في الدُّنْيَا وَالآخِرَةِ، وَمَنْ سَتَرَ عَلَى مُسْلِمٍ سَتَرَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ في الدُّنْيَا وَالآخِرَةِ، وَاللَّهُ في عَوْنِ الْعَبْدِ مَا كَانَ الْعَبْدُ في عَوْنِ أَخِيهِ»
“He who relieves the hardship of a believer in this world, Allah will relieve his hardship on the Day of Judgment. He who makes easy what is difficult; Allah will make it easy for him in the world and the Hereafter. He who conceals the faults of a Muslim, Allah will conceal his faults in the world and the Hereafter, for Allah helps the servant so long as he helps his brother.”
So how can the eyes of Muslims sleep calmly while their people in Somalia need them??!!
Oh Muslims: If the West was able to easily offer some aid with their left hand then they would plot to rob the lands with their right hand to reap above and beyond in multitude from what it gave. All that we see from the government is political unrest, corruption, and disasters taking place in Somalia, which is the result of those sinful Western hands that meddles in the country and its resources with the help of some agents in Somalia who sold the people of Somalia for a cheap price.
Oh the people of power in the Muslim lands, does this not rouse your hearts to remember Allah and what was revealed from the Haqq? Does this not stir you to leap forth to rescue and aid your sisters and their children who are dying before your eyes in the land of Islam, Somalia?! We realize that the rulers do not mobilize so uproot them from their roots. Give Nussrah (material support) to Hizb ut Tahrir to establish the Khilafah ar-Rashidah to restore justice through Islam to the lands after years of absence. To bring justice to the oppressed women. Safeguarding children surrounding them with care and affection. Dignifying people after years of humiliation. The forthcoming Khaleefah will restore the former glories and triumphs of the earlier Khulafaa’. Indeed only the system of the Khilafah will allow Somalia to flourish after devastation and to strength after weakness.
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اسْتَجِيبُوا لِلَّـهِ وَلِلرَّسُولِ إِذَا دَعَاكُمْ لِمَا يُحْيِيكُمْ
“O you who believe! Respond to Allah and to the Messenger when He calls you to what will bring you to life!”
(Al-Anfal, 8:24)
