Political Police in Tunisia target Secondary School Teachers from the Members of Hizb ut Tahrir

After the arrest of our two brothers, Ezz Ad-din Ouaishawi and Mokhtar Aj-Jumali and transferring them to the primary Court in Kairouan and detaining them in the civil prison in Harboub pending the date of the scheduled hearing for 13/04/2017, against the backdrop of their invitation to the Khilafah Conference to be held this Saturday in the Tunisian capital. This week the oppressive police apparatus moves once again targeting our two brothers, teachers of secondary education in Jendouba, Abdul Karim Al-Madini, an exceptional Physics teacher, and Fathi Al-Innoubli, an Arabic language teacher, and handled their suspension and referred them to the Public Prosecutor in the Primary Court in Jendouba to suspend them and refer them to the civil prison in Blarija.

If the targeting of the Hizb members who are secondary school teachers translates the scandalous position of the regime seeking to undermine the party cadres in a desperate attempt to dissuade them from continuing the ideological and political struggle, then the new emerging treatment of the regime towards the party and its members, is that some of the judges from the public prosecution have joined the call of the Head of State in an effort to find a solution for Hizb ut Tahrir, and perhaps the adoption of the public prosecution in Kairouan and Jendouba the decision to detain the secondary school teachers in prison, despite the absence of danger realistically and politically from the acts they have carried out, and despite the serious impact of suspending their lessons on their pupils. Perhaps it is a dangerous precedent, that is taking place for the first time in Tunisia with a political party’s activists working legally since Ben Ali has fled, and they are the first nails that are hammered by some judges on the gains of the revolution of January 14th, to take back the country to the former tyranny square, through the regime’s use of its three arms combined: the political police, the media and the judiciary!!

In the end we say to all those who participated in this unsuccessful campaign targeting members of Hizb ut Tahrir: “Even if the sky rains with freedom, you will find slaves who will shield themselves from it (by their umbrellas)!”
