“Something You Will Not Hear”

 

Let me tell you about something

That you will not hear

Let me tell you about someone

Whose name that they will smear

No respite, but in complete spite

Some will utter the most absurd

But many will intellectually engage

And wonder the truth in such differing words.

If you are one of these

And enlightenment you search,

Worry not!

You surely have come to the right place

Where his true light will be heard!

 

If Muhammad, the man

Stood here today

Could you fathom his response

To a bleeding world?

Would you know what he would say,

SallAllahu Alaih?

Would you know what he would say

About the fatherless child?

Would you know what he would say

About the banks running riot?

Would you know what he would say

About peace, war and violence?

Worry not,

You surely have come to the right place

Where his true light will be heard!

 

Would you know what he would say

About the Energy price rises and utility bills?

About a midlife crisis where dreams go unfulfilled,

About the Zero dress sizes

And the person it kills;

About an antidepressant world

Where every other person you know is busy popping pills!

Would you know what he would say

About the rape in India that occurred?

The picture he would give of a tranquil world

Where the laws would be duly observed,

Worry not!

You surely have come to the right place

Where his true light will be heard!

 

If Muhammad the man

Stood here today,

Could you fathom his response

To a Broken world?

Would you know what he would say

SallAllahu Alaih?

Do you know that under his way

Poverty in Africa was allayed?

A land where you seem think

There has been nothing but decay,

This land, under Muhammad

Was a breadbasket so engrained!

Do you know that under his rule,

There was such a peace, so undefied!

Where Muslims, Christians and Jews lived

Side by side!

What a remarkable achievement

Where a minority prospers and are

Remembered for their days,

When the Jews lived under Islamic Spain

The history books called it

“The Jewish golden age”!

Do you know Muhammad?

To high thinking have you referred?

Worry not!

You surely have come to the right place

Where his true light will be heard!

 

Let me tell you about something

That you will not hear,

Let me tell you about someone

Whose picture they try to tear;

A false image they induce

Never a man so historically abused.

But if you are one of those

Who deeply wants to think

And surely realise

Who tries on for size

Before you decide to buy

Know that enlightened shoes

Will not be refused,

Worry not!

You surely have come to the right place

Where his true light will be heard!

Know Muhammad, Know Muhammad, Know Muhammad

Come and know Muhammad!
