PAKISTAN: Instead of issuing a Fatwa in the interest of the government, the Ulema should issue a Fatwa for the expulsion of America and uprooting the agent government

The public hate and anger against America’s war and the disclosure of Blackwater-sponsored bomb blasts in Pakistan has stunned America. In response, America has planned to shift the blame of her crimes towards the Muslims through “Sarkari Fatawa” (government sponsored religious edict). The Ulema conference which was convened at the request of the leading American agent in Pakistan, Rehman Malik, is a step in this direction. After all why is it that the government never asks for a Fatwa (religious edict) from these Ulema when it comes to issues such as collaborating with America to kill our Muslim brothers in Afghanistan, allowing military and food supplies to America and handing over chaste daughters of the Ummah to America such as Aafia Siddiqi? This secular government neither cares for Islam nor for the Ulema; they simply shop around for Fatawas that suite American interests and then use them to seal the lips of the people. Hizb ut-Tahrir wrote an open letter to the Ulema of Pakistan to fulfil its obligation to guide the Ummah – which was also distributed in tens of thousands in major cities of Pakistan.

Hizb ut-Tahrir’s open letter to the Ulema of Pakistan on the occasion of Ulema conference:

Instead of issuing a Fatwa in the interest of the government, the Ulema should issue a Fatwa for the expulsion of America from the region and uprooting the agent government

In this letter Hizb forewarned the Ulema of the government’s plan and told them that the actual purpose behind taking a Fatwa about “suicide” bombing is to give this wrong impression to the Ummah that Ulema are supporting the government in this American war. Even a child is aware that bomb blast in mosques, bazaar and street is haraam and also the fact that it is American agencies and Blackwater mercenaries who are behind these attacks.

In the letter Hizb ut-Tahrir wilaya Pakistan forewarned the Ulema of the government’s intrigue and said: “O Distinguished Ulema! If you were to do what they wished you to do – may Allah forbid – you will be sharing with them in their crime and helping them and the Kuffar against the blood and sanctities of the Muslims with your Fatwa. And without doubt you know the magnitude of the burden of that sin!… Indeed, the Hukm Shar’i that is upon you is issuing a Fatwa to expel the Kafir Americans from these pure Muslim lands and to uproot the traitors who brought them, Zardari and his government.” In the letter, it was also demanded from the Ulema that they support the sincere Dawah carriers working for the re-establishment of the Khilafah.
